Samie thought about taking her horse, Hex, out to the pastures to relax and enjoy the wide open grass area. She knows the gelding needed to be alone, out in nature, instead of being stuck in his stable all day and week long. Luckily now is the time, since the weather was fairly kind to her. So she decided to take advantage of it and maybe enjoy some relaxation time in the Academy's pastures herself. She arrived at the Dutch Warmblood's stall. As he shied away from the stall door, as always. She grabbed the gold colored lead rope and halter as she allowed herself to enter the stall. Keeping the stall door slightly opened. Hex soon perked up his ears and slowly approached the girl. Knowing his handler. She gave a grin as she slipped the halter over his head and clipped on the matching lead rope.
She took the time to do a quick grooming session with the gelding. As she tied him to the aisle. She ran a brush through his dappled grey coat. Getting out all the dust from his body and later his mane and tail. It didn't take as long, again since this was just a short session. She patted the horse's tense shoulders to stay calm, and not so stiff. She knew the gelding wants to keep to himself, but he will be better once they get to the pastures. She neatly placed all her grooming tools back in the grooming kit and shut it closed before setting it away to it's stored place. Once all her tasks were done to keep her horse feeling good, she untied the horse and got a firm hold on the lead rope. She soon lead the gelding out towards the directions of the pastures.
This was a first coming to the pastures for the student. She looked around at each of the pastures. The pair soon arrived at the third pastures below. Luckily, it was empty. Hex didn't enjoy company and well, referring to how antisocial he is and likes to keep to himself. She walked over with the horse towards the gate. Slowly opening it and letting Hex enter, before unclipping the lead rope. She shut the gate behind him and gave him a nod, letting him now he can head off. She walked away a few feet from the gate. Before watching her horse, leaning against the fence and laying her elbows down against the wooden object. Hex, being the normal gelding he is, trotted around his new surroundings before settling in at a corner. The opposite side from where the girl was.

After a rather interesting ride on Rolo, nothing strenuous, just a bit of fun reining drills, Sara decided to grab both of her geldings and turn then out for the rest of the day, to give them a bit of a break. She hadn't made any plans for the day, not that there was anyone to plan with anymore, since Dan was gone. After switching Rolo's tack for the tovero's simple dark green halter and lead, she left him ground-tied for a moment as she buckled Balian's teal set onto the Thoroughbred's head. With a lead rope in each hand, and Cinder following behind the trio, to the left of Balian, they made their way towards the pastures. As she passed each pasture, Sara counted the inhabitants of each, until she reached the end of the drive, where there was only a single horse. She could see one of the new girls from cheer, Samie, leaning against the fence, but ignored her as she approached the gate, murmuring a word for Cinder to wait outside of the pasture limit as she led her duo through. She unbuckled first Balian's, then Rolo's halters, slinging them over her shoulder before she turned around and walked out of the pasture, closing the gate behind her. Only when Cinder had fallen into step beside her did she approach Samie and offer the girl a smile, "It's a beautiful day, for once."

It was felt like once in a lifetime to actually have this beautiful day. Although Samie only feels this sensation because it almost seems forever until the winter weather has gave them mercy. "Just wait until spring..." She muttered under her breathe as she continued to gaze across the pasture. Finding it rather soothing to be outside. She never feels relaxed regularly. Since she has so much thinking and getting on people's nerves to do. Later hearing footsteps and hooves pounding on the pathway. She ignored it as it felt faint. Until she heard it coming closer, she then suddenly noticed what it was. It was just this girl and her two horses. As well as her... dog?
'I though dogs weren't allowed in the pastures.' She thought to herself as the handler let her two horses into the pastures before standing beside her. 'Ever heard of asking someone first?' She then realized that it was usually her who does something as rude as that. She glanced over with a secretly arched brow. She remembered this girl. Who was it? Then finally remembering the girl from cheer. The head cheerleader, Sara. She gave a slight groan to herself in disgust. 'Who made her head of the squad?' She wondered as she pushed herself to listen to what she had to say. "It's a beautiful day, for once." It was a beautiful day? Really? Not even a 'hope you don't mind'? 'How nice...' She muttered in her thoughts, liking to keep her snob opinions to herself. Though she can't help it. "Uh, yes. It is a beautiful day..." She replied with her confident and know-it-all tone. She looked back over to her gelding, watching to see if he was social enough to greet his newcomers to the pastures. As always, Hex just perked a ear and lifted his head for a moment to watch Sara's horses arrive. Later just continuing to keep to his corner. 'That horse will never learn to make friends... I wouldn't blame him.' Referring to herself, as almost half the people she has met, has not come to her expectations in being a friend.
Now her eyes were fixed on her large dog. Finally noticing that it was a service dog at work. What is the girl disabled or something? Didn't look like she did at the cheer practice, though looks can be deceiving. She couldn't keep her opinions to herself, as always. So Hex isn't alone when it comes to not morphing into something you're not. "Excuse me, but why do you have a service dog with you? Are you disabled or something?" She asked, not giving any sympathy in her voice. Like she would have that kind of personality in her. At that moment. She just wanted to know the facts, but maybe she could get a little fun out of this. Hopefully she would be able to get on her nerves a bit and then it's a moment to remember.

Sara could see that she had peeved Samie off, but didn't let it show in her demeanor as she leaned against the fence. The girl seemed to think that she could just waltz in and take over the entire school, and had she come in a year earlier, Sara wouldn't have cared in the slightest. Since becoming the team captian for cheer, however, and overall one of the more active seniors around campus, Sara had found herself thinking of Blue Ridge as 'her' school, and she didn't want some newcomer ruining the place she had come to call home for this period in her life.
As the girl responded to her overture, with ill grace, but she did respond, Sara nodded and turned her gaze out to the pastures, where her geldings were already stationary again, pushing away the snow before they settled down to browse at the grasses that were still dormant underneath, a flickering ear in the direction of the flea-bitten grey that was their only pasture-mate at the moment.
The girl's voice brought Sara back from her entire attention being devoted to the horses and their interactions, or not. She wanted to laugh at the irony of it all, everyone who was, or wanted to be, someone seemed to choose her 'companion' as a good target. Funnily enough, they failed to realize that she had heard it all before, "He's trained to alert to specific ingredients in food, and if I happen to go into anaphylaxis, he is trained to find the nearest person's attention and bring them back to me." The generic answer usually served to distract people from the question, although Sara grinned slightly at the second question, "That depends on whom you ask."
