The Personality
Personality:Just like his owner, Skippy can be pretty stubborn at times. When he doesn’t want to do something, he won’t, no matter how much a person tries to make him do it. In a way, as Snow considers him, that’s him being ‘childish’. But, the majority of the time, Skippy is a pretty easy horse to handle. He loves to please, if only because he’ll be praised for what he did, which he loves.
Very big on wanting to show off to people, Skippy loves attention and loves to be in front of a crowd. So, the majority of the time, if he’s practicing with no one around other than his rider, he’ll usually not put much effort into it.
Caution Around: Sharp or hard objects. With his habit of bobbing his head up and down, he could run it into something and injure himself.
The History
Basic History: Born and raised on the Damon farm, Skippy was able to get the attention that he wanted with the help of his owner, the young eleven year old Snow. He was trained in the western discipline after he was broken, going from reining, to pole bending, and then to barrel racing, just to see which one he would prosper at most.
All together, the best results came from barrel racing. The fact that he refused to do pole bending after the second time he did it ruled that one out, and the fact that he just never really seemed to grasp on the concept of reining ruled that one out. So he prospered in barrel racing, winning a few shows here and there.
