He grinned when she took the spoon and tried a piece of the desert. Gabe had to admit, while it wasn't the prettiest, it tasted very good. Looking at the sweet food, he studied it, seeing blueberries, strawberries, and what looked like bits of raspberries mixed in the whipped cream and cookie crumbled. He leaned closer to get a better look at the bits of cookie, and picked a small piece up with his fingers, twirling it in his hand as he looked at it and finally tasted it, eyes lighting up as he recognized it just from the sugary sweet taste alone. "No wonder it's so good! It had Ladyfingers in it! Gimme my spoon, you got your own!" He exclaimed, half-heartedly reaching for the spoon back and not managing to grab it completely. Ladyfingers were his favorite type of cookie besides oreo's and gooey chocolate chip cookies.
Gabriel couldn't help the laughter that escaped as he reached for the spoon again, though, upon thinking about it, changed his mind halfway and simply reached over her and grabbed her spoon, which lay on the table, neglected. He gave her a smirk and snatched the desert back as well, sticking the spoon inside and getting another spoonful. "Now what, Delly?" He teased her now, holding the desert close and waving the spoonful of Berrymisu he had in circles just out of her reach.
Notes: pathetic attempt at a post… sorry…

Delilah's eyes darted from the delicious dessert in between them to Gabe as he seemed to intently study the dessert. She laughed softly, hoping to not break his intense concentration. It was amazing, yes. But she wasn't going to go undressing it with her eyes. Still, her curiosity was getting the better of her. She gazed at the dessert, eyes slowly moving over each little bit left in the bowl. What was so interesting to him?
She laughed as she found out, watching him pick out the bit of cookie. Upon seeing the look on his face, she knew at once what he was so happy about. One of his favorite cookies. It was funny how one could know so much about another person. But they had been friends for.. well.. ever, it seemed. "Two minutes into couples' bliss and you're already telling me to get my own!" she teased, raising the spoon far away from the handsome boy. "So much for a honey moon phase!" She shook her head as though she were ashamed of him.
Her eyes widened as he reached over, but he didn't take the dessert or the spoon in her hand. Why not? She tilted her head, but his voice met with her ears as she discovered why. "Hey, wait a second!" she squealed, snatching at the dessert as he took it back. How had she forgotten her own spoon? She broke out laughing but tried to wipe the grin off her face to give him a dirty look without managing to. But as the smile faded, she switched it for a new dirty look. Perhaps more of a flirty look. "Share that dessert with me and maybe it'll be worth your sacrifice," she cooed, leaning in towards him, keeping her seductive gaze on him.
After a moment, she leaned forward even more, almost certain he was fixated on her feminine charm and, if nothing else, her chest. She quickly put her mouth over the spoon full of dessert. She slowly pulled back, giving him one last charming, flirty look before grinning in victory.

Gabriel smirked at her words and decided to just let her have the dessert, if she wanted it so badly. Well, really, he knew that she was playing with him, and he figured that if he really wanted the food back, she'd give it back… but she was just too cute. It rendered him unable to do anything that would or could wipe the grin from her face. "Aw, no honeymoon…" He pouted, then perked up, a sly grin gracing his face, "I take it you’re the type for a court wedding, then. Skip the traditions." He said, sounding serious, though if it wasn't for the glint in his eye, you'd never knew he was joking with her. He knew she'd know he was playing, they had teased and flirted with each other in the past, and nothing was going to change, except for the fact that she'd agreed to see him in that light, as a boyfriend.
He wasn't phased by her reactions when he took her spoon… well, not at first. Gabe's eyes widened slightly at her look and he suddenly wasn't feeling too 'smooth'. He could move as she literally stole his dessert from the spoon itself, and couldn't help the thoughts that burst into being in his mind at her look. "Uh… Delly… Uh…" He stammered, face turning slightly red as he had to force himself to break eye contact with her before he actually did do something that got them kicked out of the restaurant. "Are you almost… done?" His voice was defiantly not smooth and 'suave' anymore, it was more of a begging squeak as he breathed deep and focused on making himself think and not think.

Delilah grinned victoriously as he didn't take the food away from her, realizing she had won. Gabe had always been so easy, as though he'd never wanted to displease her. Of course, that probably wasn't a trait to take advantage of, but still. He'd always wanted to make the people he cared for happy. That was why whatever girl he had in his life would be the luckiest girl in the world. Wait, she was that girl. She grinned again, feeling a bit silly for taking such a long time to put that together. Although they'd been friends for years, the idea of being together was still rather difficult to wrap her mind around.
She laughed as he spoke, shaking her head. "Of course I want a court wedding! The faster the better. Don't want to give the poor sucker time to run away, now do we?" she replied with a smirk. Her mother would certainly agree. But she didn't think anyone would ever want to marry her daughter anyways. Although, maybe she thought that with good reason... No, she didn't need to think like that. She'd never let people tell her what to think, and she wouldn't start now. She grinned over at the young man, shrugging simply. "So, let's get to that court house," she teased.
She grinned again as she watched the once so smooth man become flustered so quickly. It was as though she had a power over him. And she was pretty fond of that idea. She batted her eyelashes at him, smiling seductively. "Mmmm, this is so delicious," she cooed as she finished her mouthful of the sweet dessert, flashing him a grin. "Done? Don't you want anymore?" she asked sweetly, pretending to be unaware of why he might want to leave. She pushed the dessert towards him, raising a brow. "I'm not done, but maybe we could finish this... somewhere else," she added, her voice low, a grin on her lips as she knew she was most certainly teasing the poor man. "You know, I hate going into my apartment when the lights are off. Maybe you could bring me home, ya know, to turn on my lights?" She winked, sliding back her chair and tilting her head towards the door. He was oh so fun to tease. She almost felt bad, but it was just too adorable to watch him get flustered.

He'd always, always wanted her to be his, but now that he had her, Gabe was left wondering just what he was in store for. He didn't regret asking her out for an instant, though, and he knew he wouldn't be the one to break up with her if they broke apart. After wishing he was the one on her arm for years, there was no way he was giving up this chance. Though, he'd had to already remind himself to treat her with the respect he felt she deserved several times, and he knew he'd have to remind himself many more times before the night was out. He wanted 'them' to last.
Gabe cracked a small smile at her exclamation and laughed as he thought about it, finally shaking his head, though not saying anything to counter her this time. He took a few moments to stare at her, finally reaching forwards to lightly tug on a stray strand of hair, his smile widening. "Well, if you insist…" He said, trailing off before grabbing her by the hand and pulling her up with him once he'd regained his bearings. Gabe knew in his mind that he'd treat her right. There was no way on earth he was messing anything with her up. She deserved so much, even if she didn't think so, and he planned on doing his best and giving it to her. "Shall we?" He questioned, offering his arm to her and pushing his chair in before picking up the bill and glancing at the price. It wasn't cheap, but in his mind, nothing was too expensive for Delilah. He just had to convince her of that. Gabe surreptitiously folded the paper, trying to slip in in his pocket before she saw.

Delilah's light brown eyes studied the handsome man across from her. As she realized everything that had happened so quickly, she couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed. All in her first day at Blue Ridge she had been promoted, reunited with her childhood best friend, and found herself in a relationship with the one man she had always had feelings for. Now if all that could happen in less tan 24 hours, why couldn't the Romans build Rome in a day? She smiled inwardly at her silly musing, letting her attention return to Gabriel.
He seemed a bit bewildered, perhaps by her flirting, teasing, what have you. She knew she needed to be careful around him when it came to things like that. He did have a bit of a reputation. But at the same time, she couldn't help realize how much he'd changed for the better. And the way his eyes kept staring at her with that warm affection made her think that perhaps he truly had changed. He was her best friend, and he'd never use her that way. Why she'd ever thought otherwise upset her a bit. He'd never hurt her. Well, except for when he disappeared, off to military school apparently. But did he really have any control over that?
She grinned as he agreed to her offer. "I do," she replied insistently, nodding her head once as if to show him she meant business. She smiled up at him as he stood up, letting him pull her along. Typically, she wasn't a fan of letting anyone else have control over her movement, but there was something sexy about the way he had taken her so confidently to lead away. She grinned again, sliding her hand around his outstretched arm. "My, you've become such a gentleman!" she commented, nudging his shoulder gently with a playful glint in her eye.
Peering over, she attempted to catch a glimpse of the check, but Gabe acted too quickly for her to see any numbers. She frowned slightly, realizing that it was a sign of just how much he'd spent on her. "Gabe, let me help pay," she requested, glancing up at him as they began to exit the building. As her eyes fell on the vehicle she had driven here, she smiled a bit. It really did look out of place here. "Ya know, no one will want to steal my car, I'm sure. It'd be safe if I just left it here..." She glanced up at him once more, raising a brow as she awaited his reaction to the idea of the two of them leaving and going to her apartment together.

"Only a gentleman when I want to be, Delly..." Gabe said softly as he stopped to pay before leaving. He appeared to consider her request, then shook his head slightly. "... and no. I'm paying." He stepped away from her slightly to fumble with his wallet, taking out several dollar bills and passing them over. The restaurant definately wasn't cheap. After recieving his change, Gabe moved quickly and grabbed her hand, lacing his fingers with hers and holding the door open for her.
He took a moment to glance back around into the bulding as they exited and gave a grin to the people inside, tilting his head slightly and waving before grabbing the door once more. "'Til next time!" He called, then let the door close, laughing.
As his eyes followed Delilah's, and he listened to what she spoke, he gave her a look. Of course, Gabe wouldn't veto the idea, he knew, he'd just have to make sure he kept himself in control and didn't mess up anything. A hint of hesitation appeared in his eyes as he wondered if he could keep to himself, then steely resolve hardened. He hadn't finally buckled down for nothing. Giving Delilah another of his copyright mischeivous grins, he nodded. He was getting very used to the idea of seeing his childhood best friend and the woman he'd crushed on for years, watching in silent agony as she went through other guys. Of course, Delilah didn't need to know that he'd probably cornered and threatened every guy she'd went with before he'd been sent away. At least, he hoped she'd never found out. "Lock it up, Delilah, and we can take my truck." He finally said, giving her a genuine smile after glancing at the night sky. It was a full moon, and, unbidden, a thought came to mind that he voiced before realizing it. "Full moon, the werewolves are out tonight."
