She was secretly glad to get out of the truck, but she'd never let her siblings and parents know it. It had been very crowded inside the extended-cab vehicle; she had had to sit up front, between the parents, while her three brothers crowded in the back. Her entire family had came to drop her off, as her brothers had point-blank refused to stay home. They were family, and family stuck with family.
The entire group piled out of the truck after her, and Noah glowered at the sibling closest to her age as he ruffled her hair playfully. She said nothing though, just glowered and pushed the loose locks behind an ear before looking around and pulling her army coat tighter around her body.
"Cold, sis?"
The cool tenure of her most adored brother Cody cut through the chilled air, and when the girl looked his way, he offered her a warm grin and held out an extra coat, one of his by the looks of it. "I did some reading on the weather out here, Taffy." He said as an excuse.
She smiled, beaming at him, and snatched the warm fleece-lined jacket, tugging it on over her own. "Thanks Cody. You're the best." Her voice was grateful, and, though the added jacket engulfed her smaller stature and frame, the chill in the air didn't cut through it. "I'm going to go find the office."
"We'll go with you." Her oldest sibling said, grabbing both other brothers and dragging them behind their sister. Not that they objected. All three brothers wanted to get a good look at the acaemy.
"Ok, so it looks like Angus will be in this barn... and I'll be staying in this dorm, with a roommate..."
"Your schedule is so full, honey..."
"I'll get..."
"We'll help you..."
"... bags..."
"... Angus settled in..."
"Everyone, shut-up!"
Noah grinned. She hadn't expected her family to actually fall silent at her yell. She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and laughed a little before looking at the papers she'd been given. "Alright, let's do this in an orderly fashion. Um..." She wasn't used to giving such orders, but at the encouraging smile from her dad, she nodded to herself and continued. "Um... Dad, you and Nick take Angus and put him up, please. Make sure he's blanketed and... Max, could you go with them and help with his tack? Mom, you and Cody, could yall help me find my dorm and get my stuff to it?"
There was a chorus of affirmatives, and Max even snapped off a sloppy salute and the family seperated to do what the youngest member had asked of them. They'd meet back up at the car after everything was settled to say their goodbye's.
"And Nick, absolutely no oogling any of the girls here! We'll meet back up in... say, half an hour. At the truck!" Noah yelled as her dad and two of her brothers started off with her beautiful buckskin gelding and his supplies.
"Alright guys, let me go!" She loved her brothers bear hugs, but geesh, all three at once could kill a person! Noah stepped back when they released her and gave her family a watery smile. "I'll miss yall..." She said as her dad grabbed her in another bear hug and told her to behave herself. Her mom grabbed her in another rib-breaking hug as soon as she was released from her dad.
"Bye!" She yelled after the truck as it pulled away. Noah waved wildly until the truck was gone, choosing to ignore her oldest brother's yelled comment about how she'd better not find a boyfriend or he'd have to make a special trip up 'just to visit'.
