Having problems with the new site

We could have kept a proboards forum, but there was no way that Cara and I would have been able to continue running this site long-term, which is what it was looking to be. We decided to upgrade because it'd be one big switch, not two smaller ones coming back-to-back (As we would have had to update eventuallly).

I'm really sorry that you are feeling left out. However, you need to look at it this way. If Stern and I hadn't moved the site, I would have just upgraded this one (which as the co-admin here I can do now), then you would have been locked out without being able to voice your concerns. At least the way it's been done, we still have the ability to talk things through and try and help you out.

Please remember that we haven't done to intentionally hurt anyone, or cut anyone out, but all of the boards are slowly being upgraded so they will eventually wipe out version 4 (this one).

I can't use the boards either way, so that really doesn't matter. This one is dead and I'm unable to view, register or login on the other one. People would get left out either way it went. By the time Vizt or myself find a way to access the other board (if we ever do), our character's positions will most likely be taken and it'll all be a waste of time.
This was the only roleplay I was able to use and I think anyone would be upset if they whent to all the trouble of making accounts and characters just to have to drop them before you get to even really use them and when you were in the middle of making plans and plotting things out. It's very frustrating... o ~ o

I'd ask if you'd thought of maybe trying another forum sites like Zetaboards or Wiki, but that would be unfair to the people who just got settled into the new forums. I don't really know if there's anything left to even try.

Your staff member's positions might, but students are always welcome, and I'm sure you could be worked in again. Yes, it might take a few months (April for general release), but if you did really like our site, we would welcome you back whenever you did manage to get on the site.

I'm sorry you feel that spending the time you did with us was a waste of your time. I personally thought it was worth it just to RP with you when I had the chance, but that's just my opinion. Same goes for Vizt, of course.

We won't be switching from Proboards anytime soon. It was better, in our opinion, to go with a site that would work in a similar way to this one, but would allow us (The staff) the powers we needed. I think that moving was better than watching this place suffer a long, drawn out death, because neither Cara nor I had the official access to do anything with this site. It belongs to Rissa, and this site will always belong to her. Since she isn't here, we have no power apart from what she gave Cara before she left. This new site, Cara can act as the owner and the main admin (Because she is), representing us to the Proboards Staff.

As for things to try, no, there is no way to log in other than that page that your servers seem to be blocking, but as I never got detailed feedback about which page did get blocked, I can't be sure exactly what your problem is. If you wanted to, you can try working things out with Support, who have upgraded as well, and are a well-known board, which may influence your ability to log in. You are welcome to use my global account for as long as you want to play around with it.

The site isn't even viewable anymore on my side. The only place I can use it is on my work computer, and that's not something I can do while on duty and with only a half an hour luch bread to eat, get meds and then get back to work.

I get where you're comming from, Unusual. I put a lot of work in to making my characters to only get a few chances to post, and I know you had plans for the horse auction and plotting with Vizt. I'm close to graduation, but by the time that happens Adiel's place will be taken, so I won't even be able to continue using my characters. Th ewhole situation is just a depressing mess.

Is there any way to get in contact with Rissa to ask her about getting on to edit your positions, Stern?

So far, Adiel's position hasn't been taken yet. If you want to come back to us when you graduate, and see what's been happening, we'll welcome you back.

I'm not sure whether I should be offended or not, that you would think we haven't tried everything to stay on this site before making such a drastic change. It was not just a spur of the moment choice, it came after months of trying to contact Rissa and getting no answer whatsoever, on any matter. If we had had a choice, I think Cara and I would both have preferred staying on this site, because moving was a nightmare once (Not just because of this log-in thing, but due to everything). We won't be moving back to V4, even if Rissa does get back to us on old emails, because it would just be too much hassle to try and bring everything back to where it was, especially with the new features that everyone's finally been getting used to. I'm not trying to say that you guys aren't important enough for that hassle, because that's not what I mean to do. It's just easier for everyone, and every time we move the site, we're going to lose members again.

EEK! No, no! I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a jerk, Sten. I'm not meaning for it to come off that way. Like I said, I'm just frustrated with it and bummed out over losing my characters. I haven't been able to write or roleplay in over a month now, it's really my only form of stress relief so I'm crazy tense right now.
