Personality: Curious and ‘in-your-pocket’ describes this stallion only too well. Winston loves people. Winston loves being in the center of attention. He’s convinced that he’ll get a treat or get petted or something whenever anyone walks in the barn. Winston’s one of the first horses to come up to you in the paddock and if you’re not careful he’ll run you over trying to get nearer to you.

He tries to play with people like he would other horses by nipping and occasionally kicking out... but he’s never meant anything by it... just good humor. He absolutely loves water and will splash all the water out of the trough during the summer.

Past Owner/s: N/A

History: Sired by Cruise Control, Winston is tall, correct, and speedy... like most of the horses his sire produced. He started his race training at eighteen months and raced from two until he was five, winning some, losing some... until he came in from the paddock sporting a seriously swollen left hind and limping something terribly. It turned out that he’d fell in a gopher hole and sprained his fetlock, thus causing him to be out of commission for at least six months, so serious the sprain was. While healing and getting back into racing shape, he was sent to BRRA with Mathis.

Personality: Cruiser is somewhat high-strung, though he’s calmed down a lot from his younger years. He’s a bit unruly at times, and can be a bit bossy and pushy, but overall he’s a good stallion. He’s usually just fine to be pastured with other stallions/geldings, but when breeding season comes around he can get slightly aggressive towards other horses.

He’s a bit stand-offish... Cruiser likes to be petted and handled, but if he’s not being held then whenever he gets tired of it, he’ll walk away and proceed to ignore you. He gets somewhat excited when a saddle is settled over his back and a bit put in his mouth and can become a slight pain, though it never really takes a lot to get him back in check. When he gets upset at not being able to do something, he’ll rear.

History: Cruiser has never had any other owners and he’s always been treated well. He raced as a two, three, for, five, and six year old... He, like most racehorses, both won and lost. After retiring from racing, Cruiser was never completely retrained in anything, as he became one of the breeding stallions and proved to throw conformationally correct, fast, and tall colts and fillies. Mathis always wanted to retrain him, but never got the chance until recently.

Personality: Viv is a really laid back mare. She’s calm, doesn’t kick or bite, and is great for beginner riders. She’s an excellent trail companion, as not much of anything startles her, and she’s great to use to pony horses who can’t be ridden but need exercise.

She can get a little hyper when alone, but under a steady hand she calms right down. When she’s ‘maring’ though, she can be a spitfire... prancing up and down her paddock and teasing the stallions... but most often than not she’s about the same year-round.

Viv doesn’t really like to run, but she will if you ask. She’s the type of mare who can run full blast for about half a mile or so, then can be walked on a loose rein with her head down, as calm as can be.

Past Owner/s: Kyle Branson (breeder) / Nolan Jamison (Nolan gave the mare to Mathis two years ago)

History: Viv was bought as a two year old for her uniquely calm disposition and unflappability. She was then trained through her second through fifth years to be an exceptional lead pony for the Thoroughbreds at the racetracks. Viv was a great lead pony, but was retired at the young age of eleven when her owners’ wife decided that she’d be a perfect trail riding companion. When Hilda Jamison moved on to a younger, fresher horse two years ago, Mathis asked for the bay mare to be given to him.
