Part VI : Attributes[/u]
Personality: Dollar’s just your everyday horse... who has a knack for escaping his stall/paddock and getting into the tack room/feed room. He’s a horse that anyone can ride... calm, even tempered, and silly. He has a lot of get-up and go for the more advanced riders, but will refuse to leave a fast walk when a beginner is on his back.
Dollar loves to play in water and if you have to cross a creek somewhere, well, you can forget about it until he’s had his fun... splashing until he’s got both his rider and himself soaking wet. He amuses himself be stealing hats and curries and the occasional saddle-blanket.
Likes: People, getting petted, dewormer (he’s an odd horse), trails, running and bucking like a three year old when first let loose in a pasture, escaping his paddock and/or stall
Dislikes: Whips, rough handlers, needles (his one major fault... he’s a terror for vaccinations and anything that requires a needle), big trash cans (he’ll act like an idiot... spooking and shying as he passes them one way, but when passing them the other way he acts like they’re not even there...)
Part VII : Background[/u]
Past Owner/s: Bob Hilson (breeder, raised and trained Dollar until he was sold as a five year old stallion) / Rachel Dean (used Dollar as a breeding stallion for the first year she owned him before gelding him and furthering his training and then she and her two sons and daughter used him as a trail and show horse for an additional three years before he was sold to the Blacks at age nine
History: Dollar was born at a Quarterhorse breeding farm in Georgia. He started showing in hand as a yearling and as once he started his riding training, he was shown locally by his trainer and breeder in trail classes and was started in western pleasure. Upon being sold as a five year old, he was then used as a breeding stallion for a year by his new owner before he was gelded and his training started up again. His western pleasure training was finished, though he never did that well in it, and he once again started showing and competing in trail classes and, surprisingly, rodeo events. He mainly did barrels, but was also used as a roping horse. By the time he was sold to the Blacks (for a very high $6500) he knew his job backwards and forwards and had proven to be an excellent horse for a beginner to learn on.
Trained In: Barrels, Roping, Western Pleasure, Trail Classes, and Trail Riding
Owner/Rider: Anne-Marie Black
