********** Up--up--up-- Can only go up from here ********** A smile lit up her smooth complexion, her straight teeth gleaming with a little help from the sun, "Here's the key, it's all yours," a truck driver was saying. Davina's dainty hand took the key, her whole body filling the pulse of heart in excitement, "Thanks!" she practically squealed. Her brown orbs gazed upon the new truck and trailer her father sent. They were beautiful. She quickly scampered over to the shiny grey/beige vehicle. It was perfect, like everything else in her life.
Sitting next to it, was a new horse trailer. Davina loved having money. Without wasting anytime she backed the truck to the trailer and drove down to the barns. Here, she left the truck running with a full tank of gas as she hurried after her grey gelding. Chance loaded easily into the trailer, as he always did, that was probably his best quality. The seventeen year old through the tack into the new tack room and they took off, driving a little too fast, into town.
The new truck sparkled as the sun beat down on it's paint. Not a scratch or dent was anywhere to be found. It hummed smoothly down the road. Davina rolled down the automatic windows and let her loose hair blow freely in the wind. Her sunglasses protected her eyes from the world. She had the radio turned up louder than it should have been, but it was okay becuase everyone needed to hear the song Up- by Shania Twain. After a few more miles, the blinker came on and Davina turned the wheel into the dissapointedly empty parking lot. The truck drove up to a near space by the door. The engine shut off and the girl jumped out in her riding boots and skinny jeans. She skipped over to the trailer and opened the door, lowering the ramp. Chance looked at her with white eyes inside. The burnette shook her head, "Isn't this a routine yet?" she questioned as she untied the leather/chain lead. She led the grey out, letting him walk flightly down the ramp. Then, the horse was tied to the trailer. He let out a nervous snort, then relaxed a foot, his skin fidgeting lightly from a fly here and there. His eyes were filled with curiosity and uncertainty. He jumped a bit as the pad was properly sat on his back and the saddle was adjusted properly. His mouth opened willingly as the bit was slid on top of his pink tongue. He opened and closed his mouth, getting a feel for the thing he rode in everyday.
Davina led the horse inside the building. The lights were on, despite the place being empty. The girl led the horse in the ring, the eery silence strange to both of them. She stood on a mounting block and lowered herself into the seat. She felt the gelding quiver beneathe her, and she asked for a walk on a tight rein. Chance sidestepped wildley at the cue, his body humped, but no buck ever came. He took off at a fast walk. To get his extremely intelligent mind working, the girl asked for a tight circle, then a tight figure eight as she moved him into a smooth trot. ********** Up--up--up-- Where the clouds gonna clear ********** Outfit: Here Horse: Chance Lyrics: Shania Twain-- Up Notes: Other: truck, trailer

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve got the sun in my pocket and the moon in hands I throw it up amongst the stars and watch it move in a dance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jasper had decided to use his half day by coming to the town's riding center. He had wanted to escape from the Academy as most of the arenas were just overcrowded with students using the weather to their full advantage. So the beat up truck had his dog Dusty, and the trailer had his Quarter Horse paint gelding, Dan. Jasper wasn't surprised to see that someone was already at the Center, but was slightly disappointed. He parked and quickly led out the gelding into the afternoon sun. Dan already had on his western bridle, and just needed to have the last few items placed on him. There wasn't much that Jasper needed to teach the gelding. More like riding him just to keep him fit. Jasper knew that he would need a younger horse soon as Dan was getting on years. Gate he called to the other rider to alert her of his presence. He led in Dan, and quickly mounted. Jasper walked the horse around the perimeter of the arena to start warming him up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sometimes I stop and play it over again With a smooth breeze blowing, flowing closer within, hey. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Status: Complete Lyrics: Sun in my pocket--Locnville Horse: Bronco DandyOutfit: Here
********** When everything is goin' wrong Don't worry, it won't last for long ********** The girl let out a small sigh. After she finished the warm-up routine, she asked for a canter and Chance obediently did so, an ear flicking to the outside for a not yet known reason to his rider. His longs legs clattered the loose dirt underneathe them, his tail twitching and head tucked in. Davina was so busy concentrating on her mount, she was startled when someone called they were entering the arena. Her sunglasses were still shading her eyes, but she caught a glance of the person. Now that was more like it. So maybe the rumors she heard were true of cute cowboys coming to this place. To put it simply, the girl wanted one. There was no way she would ever act desperate though.
She pulled the grey gelding into a quick, tight circle. Spinning him around and trotting down the other half of the arena, acting as if she had not yet acknowledged the man, but in all truth, oh she had. She wondered if he was a local boy, or if he went to the academy. She hadn't paid much attention to his mount, neither had Chance. The seventeen year old turned her horse around again, noticing the man was walking the horse around the arena. She made sure to keep her space, but being the bold and outgoing person she was, she couldn't wait for him to say anything, "Hello," she said in more of a pronounced tone. Her brown eyes now took in the horse. A paint, of course. What else would a cowboy ride? Certainly not an ebony warmblood or grey thoroughbred, "Nice to know there's company, this place is kind of empty by yourself." she smiled small at her words. She liked the idea of whereing the sunglasses, it made it easy to look a person over and them not knowing. ********** Yeah, it's all gonna come around Don't go let it get you down You gotta keep on holding on ********** Outfit: see above Horse: see above Lyrics: Shania Twain-- Up Notes: So maybe she did get her wish after all haha
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now let me think about the route that I took I heard them say that I should play it by the rules of the book But I took it real easy on them, proceed to beat the problem ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dan was always to be relied upon to be the gentle soul that he is. He wouldn't harm a fly, but he could also be d4mn lazy when he felt like it. Now was an example. Jasper halted the horse so that he could greet the girl back. Well, good day miss. I agree it could be lonely. His voice was thick with a Tennessean accent, something that had been with him his whole life, but something that this cowboy was proud of. Jasper felt Dan go into lazy mode. The cocking of the back off, his head falling lower and lower, and his bottom lip sticking out as if in a pout. It was hard to believe that this was the same horse that flew around the barrels at a rodeo, or was quick enough to stop the fastest cows from escaping. My name's Jasper. Jasper Hale. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Smooth wishes in my words, belief’s a need to calm them Listen and pay attention to the things that I cam to mention I’ve had simliar ways of tension, just consider the maze of questions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Status: Complete Lyrics: Sun in my pocket--Locnville Horse: Bronco DandyOutfit: HereNotes: Hehe.

Davina pulled lightly on the reins as the paint came to a stop. She rose her tanned arm up to her face and lifted her sunglasses to the top of her head. Her brown eyes saw the man in a clearer light. She smiled as he introduced himself, "nice to meet you Jasper," her smile revealed her sparkling white teeth, "I'm Davina."
Chance chomped on the bit. His ears swiveled and his brown orbs looked around, probably for an excuse to spook. After all, there had to be something scary out there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It’s growing over now, so close I can almost hold it Provoke and open now, hope there’s those opposed to close it ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jasper looked at the horse she was riding. It seemed like he was a well bred specimen, but he stuck to his western ponies. Pleasure to meet you Davina.The grey seemed excitable, and Jasper knew a variety of solutions to it, but he kept his mouth shut. He knew that these english riders never liked to take some one's advice, 'specially when it came to their horses. It looks like he's feeling his oats. was his only comment. Dan switched legs, and carried on with his afternoon doze. The horse slept almost all day long, and would even fall asleep working, if it wasn't what he enjoyed doing...Chasing cattle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For a broken soul is over, trading craters for holes to solve it A cold reality for amnesty in closr circles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Status: Complete Lyrics: Sun in my pocket--Locnville Horse: Bronco DandyOutfit: HereNotes: Hehe.
********** When everything is goin' wrong Don't worry, it won't last for long ********** The fiery young woman was getting rather bored with the conversation. This man showed no other interest in her than talking. Hadn't she heard about the flirty, wild cowboys? She hid the emotions from her face, but in her mind, she formed a scowl. What a rip off. The man turned his attention to her horse. At his comment, she let out a small laugh, "Oh no, this is just Chance," her hand patted his neck. His ears flickered back to his owner's voice. Davina lightly chewed on her lip, wondering if she should explain the horse's story. It wasn't that he wasn't trained properly, he was trained by the best stable in New Mexico.
Chance looked around once more. This really was a bit of a boring place. He turned his head, as if stuyding the horse next to him. The grey could testify that he had better things to do than sleep all day. His head lowered a bit to the ground, then he extended his left front leg and ducked his head down his right leg, above his knee, and started scratching with his teeth.
Davina could vouch for one thing, her horse's antics were always the same. He was very predictable for surprises. He was always 'hyper' if some wanted to call it that. But he was never mean, he hadn't reared ever, and it had been a long time since he bucked, over a year. But that cowboy could have all the lazy, boring mounts he wanted, she would stick to her thoroughbreds.********** Yeah, it's all gonna come around Don't go let it get you down You gotta keep on holding on ********** Outfit: see above Horse: see above Lyrics: Shania Twain-- Up Notes: So maybe she did get her wish after all haha
