It took him a moment to catch up with matters, Alyss sprinting away from him taking him slightly by surprise (and being somewhat distracted by the play of her hair across her shoulders didn't help either), but when he realised what was going on, he took up the challenge instantly. Breaking into a run, he pelted across the grass after her. Not nearly as elegant as the slight girl, his rather lankier limbs requiring more concentration to coordinate, he was still reasonably fast and, like any teenage boy, didn't want to lose.
Taking advantage of his relative height, he didn't follow Alyss' example of going through the fence, but instead half-vaulted, half-scrambled himself over it. A brief stumble on the landing side (apparently his legs had grown, again, as he wasn't quite sure where they ended) didn't slow him down, and he was after Alyss again within moments, calling out, "Don't think you're going to get away that easily," laughter in his bright, bubbly tone.
Putting on a spurt of speed, he managed to close the distance between them, regaining the ground he'd lost through clambering over the fence, and almost - but not quite - catching up. It occured to him as he ran that he didn't actually know where they were going... but that was hardly going to stop him from trying to get in front.

Alyss grinned, and once she was certain she was out of sight, she dove into some bushes. As soon as he ran by, she was going to give him a bit of a surprise.
A cold nose was shoved into the small girl's neck, and she stiffened before turning around and wrapping her arm's around the dog's neck. Demetri whimpered shrilly and happily, nuzzling her tan face and licking it gently. Alyss gripped his muzzle closed to quiet him, listening for her friend's steps. He would be running by soon, she knew, and if he ran by without her pouncing on him like a cat, her mission would fail.
