Melissa leaned against the pasture fence, her blond hair in a messy bun that looked like it was falling apart. It was apparent on her face that sleep hadn't come easy these days, and her eyes seemed to be dulled.
She had learned of the man who was her father, met him, and knew that somewhere on the grounds he was present. She wondered if his mind was thinking of her at the moment, or if it was befuddled by a woman. Her ever-low self esteem encouraged the second option.
Her conflicted feelings had yet to be revealed, but she could think of no one who would understand about what was happening inside of her racing mind at the moment. Well, no one except for Jay and Spencer, but she'd rarely seen the two, and had yet to tell the pair of her momumental discovery.
Her worst fear at the moment was that Chuck would go back on his promise, meet a pretty girl and abandon Melissa, as her mother had done. who was to say that her newfound parent would not take off in the same fashion and leave her stranded in the dust? Sham didn't have the answer, and neither did Sparks. Luminescence was silent as well, and the quiet was eerie to the fourteen year old.

is lean fingers thread through his curly, chocolate colored locks as he strode easily along the fence of the pastures. In his hand was the purple lead rope attached to the faded colored head collar upon the defined dome of his Arabian Quarter horse cross. The palomino had other ideas today, she certainly didn't want to be in the pasture with her little Gray companion, Question. Spencer, Do you think she will become more tolerant with age, or worse? he asked his blonde haired boyfriend his opinion on Sandy. The Australian male cursed when Sandy, who seemed to understand Jay's question, threw around her pretty cranium to nip his bare arm. He whipped her neck with the lead rope, none to hard, and she straightened up. It was a relief when they got to the pasture gate. The small Welsh Pony, whom was already situated inside, nickered his greeting and came flying over to the fence. He made a beeline to Spencer, a new friend in Questions books. Jay gave a chuckle. As the boy took the head collar from the larger mare, he contemplated how happy he was that he and Spencer were on better terms again. Well, Spencer had still been doting on the hazel eyed male. But, Jay, known to hold a grudge, had been rather rude and well, mean, to Spencer while he was recovering from the accident. Once the pair of fine equines were safely inside the pasture, Jay turned and saw a blonde haired figure in the distance. His eyes squinted in the harsh sun and realized it was Melissa. Hey, look who's over there! We haven't seen her in a while. What kind of parents are we? he chuckled. Jay and Spencer had come to be like the doting fathers to the fourteen year old. Although she wasn't that much younger than them, they both adored the quirky female. Without a word, Jay began to rush over to her. A smile upon his recently sullen face as he reached her. Hello Strang- He cut himself off. His expression grew concerned. You haven't been sleeping again, have you? he asked softly, knowing something was up. He knew her too well to miss out on that. He instantly regretted not being around for her. What's up my love? he asked. His hazel oracles went to Spencer, urging him to say something. The blonde always had a way to cheer people up, that's one of the reasons Jay fell for him so hard.[/ul] complete LYRICS;; Highway to Hell, AC/DC TAG;; MYSSI DEAREST! OUTFIT;; CLICK?! WORD COUNT;; four-one-seven MUSE;; Absolutely Terrible! OTHER;; It should be! The blond boy shook his head at the mare's temper, deciding that it was far worse than Imp's could ever be. At least he wasn't such a nipper. "To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. In fact, she could get worse with age." He shrugged, a half-hearted lift of his shoulders. A glare was gained in his gaze toward the Quarab when her teeth met Jay's bare flesh. He would be sure to check on that later.
When the pasture gate was reached, Spencer was immediately greeted by Question, who seemed to have an obcession with him. Not that he minded, for the little pony was absolutely adorable. And lovable as well, which was why Spencer enjoyed greeting him with a small carrot and fluffing his bushy forelock. The grey Welsh could always bring a smile to his lips.
As they made their way back to the school buildings and barns, Spencer put his arm over Jay's shoulders, holding him close. He sauntered on casually, his mind free of any troubles or worries. Suddenly there was an exclamation from his boyfriend, and he looked up to see Melissa. Her small figure was a good few metres off, but visable.
"Ah, Lissa! No, we are bad parents for not seeing her in such a while. Let's go!" He quickly joined Jay in a sprint to her, his longer stride slowed to keep pace with the brown-locked Australian.
Melissa looked up as the two boys from her thoughts seemed to appear before her like the angels they were. She gave them a half-hearted smile that quickly fell and she sighed softly at Jay's words. "A lot, Jay... A lot has happened in such a short amount of time.
At Jay's meaningful glance, Spencer held open his arms to her, and she flew into his grasp like a young child seeking comfort, which was how she felt deep down. "Just tell us what's going on, hon." Spencer told her and she seemed to quiver softly in his arms. He was nervous. Nothing made Melissa this fragile. He kissed her head, noticing a large bandage on her forehead.

is heart broke seeing her so vulnerable. His mind played over her words. And, once more, he regretted being away from her so long. He looked over to Spencer, his hazel orbs full of hurt. He felt so bad. Come on, Tell us about it. We'll try and make it better, even if it seems impossible. he promised her. He took himself closer to them, his hand placed comfortingly on her shoulder. Come on, let's go into the pastures where no one can hear us. Then you can unload your problems. Jay told her, directed both Spencer and Melissa back to Question and Sandy's pasture. His was the best to go to for nobody to annoy them. People didn't really like Jay. He was a threat to them, either by being gay or having such an acid tongue. Although Spencer was as openly gay as Jay, Spencer was much kinder and easier to get along with. Jay made it difficult for people to get close. Melissa and Spencer were such a rarity for him. As they reached the pasture, he shoved open the gate, greeted by the surprised whinny of Question. Jay knew what he was thinking. "Wait, didn't you just leave? Why are you back?" Despite himself, Jay gave a chuckle as the pony tilted his cranium comically. As the other two came through the wooden gate, he shut it and waved off the angry snort that sounded from the nostrils of his mare. Shut up Sandy, we won't bother you. he told her, following the other two to the far side of the pasture. Question decided to follow and Jay was glad. At least he would have something to busy his hands with if the pony came with them. He dumped himself onto the soft emerald stalks, moving his hand when Question also placed himself beside his owner. The Australian slung his arm over the pony's back, threading his fingers through his almost white mane. What has happened then, Melissa? he asked. Then, a thought stuck him. You better not be pregnant! he told her. Although he highly doubted it, he knew she wasn't that kind of girl, he needed to be sure. His expression was stern for a moment, but then he let it relax. He wondered what had happened. He leaned against his pony, his face marred with concern for his favorite female human. His eyes then met Spencer's, his eyebrows raised. It couldn't be too bad, could it? Melissa followed Jay and Spencer, walking through the pasture as though she was in a daze. Her heart was racing with fear of what she was about to reveal, and their reaction. She wondered how they would take the news... How angry they could be.
As she sat down next to Jay, Spencer sidled up next to them and rested himself on her other side. She took a steadying breath, hugging her knees to herself. Before she could begin Jay took a guess, and it earned a raised eyebrow and odd glanced from Melissa.
"Please don't interrupt guys. I'll try to shorten this down, but it all happened so fast even I don't know if I'm dreaming or not. This would be a sick fantasy of mine.
About a week ago, I was riding in the arena. One of the teacher's was on a difficult horse, so I offered my assisstance and was badly thrown. The teacher rushed me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with a concussion and fell into a coma. Whilst in the coma, I had a near fatal heart attack before waking up.
I was released the next morning, achy and sore, but okay. My chest would hurt sometimes and so did my head, which is why I didn't sleep so well until two nights ago, when i got a better reason.
The teacher met up with me again in the park. I assumed he was simply checking up on me... I was wrong. At the hospital, he had had a blood test done...
His name is Chuck Bass. And he's my father."

he pink lips which surrounded his mouth fell open with a small gasp. Jay hadn't expected that at all. What a stupid man for letting you ride his horse, knowing it was difficult! Jay shouted, anger welling up in his small frame. That was the second person he cared so much about to end up in a serious accident in the matter of weeks. His arms went around her, tears dripping from his hazel orbs. What if she HAD died? It would be that stupid Basses fault. His fists clenched in frustration, dying to get up and confront the idiot. He knew about Chuck Bass, the player extortioner. He suddenly felt sorry for Melissa's mother. Chuck would have never been around for her. He clutched her tightly, he knew what it was like to grow up without a father, and he also knew that she would grasp the chance of having a father. God, he always wanted his father back and looked up to any male figure in his life. But, he also knew Chuck could hurt her. A sigh slipped through his lips. Melissa, I don't think he's the best person to care for you. he said cautiously. He looked at Spencer, wondering if he would agree. But please know, Spencer and I shall always be here for you. If you have a problem, he said, and then smirked. Or really are pregnant, we shall always be here for you. he smiled softly. Just then, Question decided to make himself known again. His muzzle snaked around to press into Melissa's arm. And, Apparently so is Question. he chuckled, ruffling his fluffy mane. He stretched out his spare hand to clasp Spencer's. He was seriously worried about Melissa, and knew his boyfriend would be too. But, I'm glad you are getting better Melissa. Need anything and I'll happily go and get it for you. Just call me your slave for the next few weeks. he said, smiling in amusement. Melissa was surprised by the sudden onslaught known as Jay, and she gave a small yelp before giggling. "I'm fine Jay, honestly. You can check me over if ya like."
Spencer was blinking in shock before his arms were also around her. "That's it, missy, we're keeping much closer tabs on you from now on, no matter what the circumstances!"
Melissa chuckled at his tone. So much more parentlike than she'd ever heard. Her face suddenly became serious as she listened to Jay. "I know he might not be, Jay, but he deserves a second chance to redeem himself. And no matter what, I always will have you guys as dad's, even if he does abandon me." She smiled as the pony nudged her arm. "And I'll have you, Question." She told him seriously. "And don't worry Jay, I've had Sparks, Mr. Bass, and Sham all mothering me. I assure you I'm perfectly healthy."
