---------------------------------------------------------- And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? ---------------------------------------------------------- Dainty hands lifted the beaten up nylon head collar. Delicate fingers thread through her plucky mares forelock and her hand ran down the dun face of the adorable Norwegian Fjord pony. The girl dropped her head, topped with a mass of blonde locks, and planted a soft kiss upon the mare's velvet textured muzzle. The dun nickered gently and flinched when she felt tears drop onto her dome. Rachel pulled back her head and frowned, her brow furrowing deeply. She had received a call from her grandmother, not ten minutes earlier, saying that she and Damien's father had located them, and all hell was about to break loose. The girl gave a gasping sob, then just let the tears roll silently down her pinkish cheeks. She clipped on the lunging line onto Janna's head collar and left the stall. She knew she would not need the lunging whip, she never had and never will have to.
Janna's audits perked up when the round pen came into view. The mare adored the round pen, it allowed her to throw herself around and have a blast with permission from her dear owner. Rachel chuckled when she heard the delighted snort leave her dun, still the tears flowed fast and heavy down her cheeks. The girl moved to the middle once she and the mare were inside the pen and securely locked in. Janna stood patiently by the gate while Rachel readied herself. Her lips parted and as soon as the word "Walk" left her mouth, the mare picked up her feet and arched her neck, showing she could do exactly what her owner asked, with a little of her own flare thrown in. Rachel clucked broken encouragement to her mare trying to distract herself from her racing mind. But, it did not work. As soon as she pushed Janna into a trot, her mind began to assault her.
All she could think of was, what would he do when he arrived? Would he take her away? Would he kill Damien like he had promised? She frowned again, her eyed holding the special type of fear she only held when she thought of him. Her body became mechanical then. She just worked Janna with emotionlessly. Janna picked up on this and came to the center, pressing her muzzle to her owner. Another sob racked the girls young body and she sunk to the floor. What the hell am I going to do?! she almost screamed, her finger tracing the scar that ran down the whole side of her her face. WORDS! 427 TAGGED! Anyone LYRICS! Somewhere only we know- Keane NOTES! starring: You could consider Bay Cromwell a pretty new face to the town, that whole sentace literal. Blond locks, curly at the tip, seemed like a cub's mane aroud his neck. Blue eyes were full of compassion and happiness, usually. The seventeen year old didn't recieve a very nice welcome from the other students. Why? Well, to make himself feel better, the boy said they were all just jealous. Truth be told, he wasn't taken seriously. His hand squeezed tighter on the black reins he was leading his thoroughbred. His cowboy boots clicked across the ground. If was frowned on by English riders for wearing western gear and riding his stirrups a bit long. He was hated by Western riders for riding in English tack looking like a country boy. That was the way he was brought up. His Uncle never said that the way you dressed made you a good rider. His Uncle trained throoughbreds for the track. Bay had helped him a couple times. But, as things were, when Bay was feeling down on his luck, there was always someone who had it worse. Why else would he pass by a round pen and hear a girl practically scream out a question? The noise startled his own mount, and large ears pricked up and turned to the pen. The boy was never one to pry, but, this girl looked young, and really upset. His eyebrows furrowed in concern and a hand went to the back of his neck, " Excuse me," he said, his polite country boy manners coming out, " Is there something I can help you with?" he asked with concern, blue eyes drifting to the horse. She was in a round pen, so she probably just got frustrated at the little animal. Well, it was little compared to his tall horse.

---------------------------------------------------------- And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? ---------------------------------------------------------- A narrow heart shaped head snapped up violently when she heard the vocals of the male variety. Her frame scrambled up onto her feet and took her to the far side of the pen. Janna followed loyally, searching for what had startled her mistress so much. The girl peered around the dun mare and her expression fell into one of relief. She saw it was just a teenager. The blonde looked neither threatening or wanting to hurt her, but she kept herself away from him. Her hand reached up the swipe away the tears that were dripping down her scarred cheeks. Janna looked in the direction her owner was looking to and flattened her audits, a look of protection flashing over her face. Rachel pressed her hand into the plucky mares neck, calming her instantly. Rachel averted her eyes from the boy and spoke to him in just loud enough vocals. I'm fine. Please, don't worry. Her words were broken and the tone obviously didn't sound fine. But, there was no man, except her brother, she could trust. She didn't want this boy getting to close.
Her clothes didn't do too much of a job at covering her scars. The worst were on her legs and her face. But, it was too hot for jeans and it was really all she had. Leaving with just enough money to get to the academy and food. Luxuries like new clothes, new head collars and new buckets were out of the question. Her fingers teased the broken latch on Janna's head collar. It only just held the thing to her mare's head. Rachel gave a sigh and looked up to the boy finally. She saw that his horse looked a little spooked and immediately began to apologize. I'm so sorry! I didn't really mean to be, umm, that loud.. Her chest heaved in a silent sob and then dropped her eyes from him. She really felt bad for spooking his horse. WORDS! 328 TAGGED! Rissa. Also, other people are able to join (': LYRICS! The blonde haired teenager gritted his teeth in surprise when the girl dashed away from him and ran off to the far side of the round pen, the horse following. His blue eyes noticed a scar on her leg, but people had scars all the time. Anything could have happened. He looked back to his horse, who was watching intensley with what was going on. The animal's big choclate orbs stared at it's other species and the girl.
Bay didn't really know what to say as the girl spoke to him. She seemed rather shook up, and afraid. He was beginning to think he should have just let her alone and walked on by, but, the boy would have felt too guilty for that. Then the girl spoke again, "Oh, it's no problem, he's more curious than anything," the blonde smiled and patted the animal's neck, "My name's Bay," he offered, "That's a nice lookin' mare you have there."
