Andie walked through the auction house, waving at the people she saw and wanted to notice her, and pretty much snubbing the rest of the people. She was surprised with how many youngsters (horsewise) there were at this auction, as most auctions had horses that were so old and decrepit that no one wanted them. She also took note of the horses that had already been sold. She knew that she already had two horses she was working with, but she wanted a horse who kind of already knew it all and didn't need too much work, but would also be an enjoyment to ride.
As she walked along, a chestnut mare caught her eye. At first glance, the chestnut with the birdcatcher spots, looked bigger than she was but on closer inspection she saw that the mare was only fifteen hands - the perfect height for the teen. "Omega, fifteen hands tall, Akhal-Teke, seven years, endurance." She read the parts she wanted out of the mare's information sheet. The slim teen looked up at the mare. "I don't ride endurance, but I'm sure you'd love trail riding." She was going to try the mare out with dressage as she thought the chestnut would look great in a dressage ring with her long legs.
"Interested?"
Andie turned when the drawl of the mare's owner reached her ears. "I am indeed." She said with a bright, charming smile. "I'll give you fifteen hundy." She set her lips in a firm line to show that she wasn't going to bend.
The man held his hands up. "Sold!" He walked over and ran his hand down Omega's nose. "See ya, little lady."
Andie bounced up and down in excitement before she wrote out the blank cheque that was in her back pocket and handed it over before she walked up to the mare, clipped the lead onto the halter, led her from the yard and down to where her Wrangler and float waited in the parking lot. Once the mare was in the float - which she walked on to perfectly - Andie replaced the old brown halter the mare was wearing with a pristine blue halter with white trim and a matching blue and white lead.
After returning the old halter and lead to the man whom she had purchased the mare from, she returned to her vehicle and drove back to the academy, after she had placed a call through to Mrs Richards to let the woman know of Omega's arrival.
