Physical Description: Talk, dark, handsome. Three words that would fit Corey very well. At 6'4 and very well toned, he could intimidate many if he wanted too. His long, brown wavy locks that become much lighter in the summer when bleached by the sun frame a handsome, angular face. A strong jaw usually covered in light stubble, topped by softer looking cheekbones draw you up to his most breathtaking feature. His eyes. Beautiful blue oracles that darken or lighten, depending on his mood, almost always have a mischievous sparkle in them.
Corey doesn't usually hold himself with a confident air and comes across as extremely shy from his body language. He also has a slight limp in his left leg when he broke it falling out of the tree he was climbing when he was twelve. It's not very pronounced, but if you look close enough you can see it. He dresses casually all the time, usually jeans and a t-shirt, and isn't know for putting an effort into his appearance. He's a get up, shower and go sort of man. Lazy would be another word for it.
Personality: Corey has always been a quiet person, and very private. He dislikes people trying to worm their way into his business, and doesn't even try to butt into other people's private life. He rarely ever raises his voice, and if he does it must be something serious. Ever since he learned of his father's affair though, he became very shy. He believed that everybody was judging him, which many were, and couldn't handle all the attention directed at him. He retreated into his shell, and it takes a whole lot to make him come back out of it. Saying this though, he is an extremely happy and friendly person. He has a smile for anyone who passes by him, even if he doesn't verbally communicate with them.
As well as being friendly, he's also very easy going. He doesn't ask for much and is happy with the bare minimum. His nature is to give, not to take and will help anyone who needs it to the best of his ability. He doesn't look for anything in return, he's just happy to see people back on their feet and no longer struggling. When he gets to know someone, he's extremely loyal. Friendship is an important thing to Corey, though he was relatively popular while in school, he only had a small group of people he would honestly call friend. His loyalty is unwavering, but also hard to gain. When you do get it though, you have it for life unless you've done something he honestly cannot support. He is also very caring and compassionate, always a person you can turn to if you need cheering up or a chat. He's a great listener and also hands out some very useful advice.
Corey has a fun sense of humor when he's comfortable around a person, and is always up for a joke. He is the sort of guy who comes out with the quick one-liners when everyone thinks that he's not even listening. He's almost smiling and gives off warm, friendly vibes where ever he goes, which almost cancel out how timid he actually he. He's never mean with his somewhat sharp tongue, and doesn't try to direct the joke at one person to make them out to be a fool. Many appreciate this. He is also very level headed and can see the two sides to one argument very clearly. He's neutral territory almost always and tends to stay away from conflicts as they make him nervous.
Though he never finished his schooling career, Corey is highly intelligent. He always came top of the class, or near enough, while in school and can hold his own with the more intelligent crowd. People often don't believe that he never completed high school, but many choose to treat him like an imbecile when they find out. It's only when they realize how clever he actually is do they stop. He still gets quite offended by it, which is making him more determined to eventually go back to school and complete his high school diploma.
When Corey falls in love, he falls hard. He definitely gets this from his mother. He has only ever had three girlfriends, and had to break them off when he moved away. It takes him a while to get over them, and isn't one to resort to one-night stands to help him forget them quicker. When he's in a relationship, he's in it for the long haul. He has a few trust issues too, due to what his father did, but once he's over that, he's the text book example of a perfect boyfriend. He's attentive, caring, loving and always acts like a gentleman. He'd never take advantage of a lady, it wouldn't even cross his mind. He is always on the look out for his perfect partner, like his mother has with his step father, and cannot wait to have a happily ever after like them.
History: Born in Dayton, Ohio to his beautiful, caring mother and hardworking but somewhat reserved father, on paper he had the perfect set up for a good life. And in the beginning, it was. His mother doted on him, and as a housewife, she was able to give him all the attention he needed. His father was a teacher at the local elementary school, and loved his job. But his father had a secret. Well, two in fact. His mother was a very naive woman, and believed her husband loved her deeply when there were so many signs that it wasn't the case. Corey's father would constantly stay away from days on end, claiming he had too much work to do and was staying at his parents because they were away. When Corey got older, he realized that what his father doing was by no means normal, he just couldn't figure out how.
When Corey moved up to High School, as did his father. He took over the English teaching job and Corey was actually quite pleased. His father was around much less frequently at home, and at least he could see him every day now with him working at his school. The novelty soon wore off though, young Corey accidently stumbled into something he never, ever wanted to witness. Corey had been sent on a message to one of the other teachers at his school, what he saw when he delivered the message would change his life forever. As he walked into the class, his father and the other teacher were tangled in a passionate kiss. Corey's father was having an affair. With a shout of protest, they broke apart, but what got Corey the most was what his father said next. "About bloody time you found out.." Corey would never forget those words. It turned out that his father had been seeing his other woman since a year after Corey's birth. He also had two daughters with the woman, which meant that Corey had two half sisters. They knew nothing about Corey like Corey knew nothing about them.
Corey's father told his wife that night that he was leaving for good, and was divorcing her. She broke down, and fifteen year old Corey had to care for her as best he could. He never returned to school after that day, which is why he never completed his education. As soon as the divorce went through, he and his mother moved. To this day, Corey has only been back to Dayton four times. Three to see his half sisters, whom he stayed relatively close too and they often come to visit him and his mother, and one to get Benji. They never stayed in one place for long after that, until they moved to Tampa, Florida. That was where Corey gained a step father.
At eighteen, he was well and truly ready to set out on his own but couldn't even think about leaving his mother alone. He'd been out with friends one evening when he received a phone call from his mother. She was gushing about some guy she'd met and was convinced it was true love already. Corey bristled, knowing how gullible his mother could be, and raced home to confront the man she'd met. When he arrived though, he realized his actions were well and truly over reactions. The man he was faced with was an older gentleman of about 50 who had the kindest face Corey had ever lain eyes on. Corey's fury melted away when he introduced himself with a deep, soothing baritone voice and Corey knew this man would never hurt his mother. He was right, to this day they were still happily together, never married but they didn't need marriage to solidify their life partnership. Corey's step-father was his idol, no doubt about it. He couldn't be much more different than his father.
After he realized that his mother would be fine, he moved away to start his own life. With no high school diploma, there wasn't very much Corey could do. But, with no desire to go back to school, he took up a job as a groom at a ranch when he moved to Kentucky. That day, the now nineteen year old fell in love with horses. In exchange for his hard work, the rancher's wife taught him to ride. At twenty one, he bought his own horse. And at twenty three, another. During the eight years he's been living in Kentucky, Corey has worked at four different ranches, his two horses and Benji in tow. Two months ago though, he decided he needed a little change. And he also had to face a fear. School. He noticed the ad for a janitor in the paper for Blue Ridge Academy and decided that would be a good place to start. He'd be able to slowly ease his way back into the schooling community, and eventually actually go back to learn. Well, at least that's the plan. At least he can bring Benji and the horses with him. The trouble is, will Corey be able to even make it through the front doors?

Personality: Benji is an extremely loyal, clever canine which are two traits commonly associated with the Border Collie breed. He's also very hyperactive and likes to be on the move all the time, even when he's asleep he is constantly twitching. He's a sweet dog though and would never harm a soul, he loves people and will go to anyone who will give him a fuss. He also knows that Corey is the boss and knows when he has to listen and when he can push on the boundaries a little. He can be quite nervous on occasions when people are raising their voices or there is physical violence, and also doesn't really like travelling in the car and can get motion sickness.
History: Benji had been born to a working female on a cattle farm not far from where Corey grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He was the runt of his litter and was to be put down when he contracted Parvovirus. Corey offered to take him off the farmer's hands and paid for the pup's treatments. Benji came back from the illness fighting fit and hasn't been sick since then. Corey adored the pup as soon as he laid eyes on his sick form and since their bond and adoration for one another has grown.
