.Simza Aishe Faa.
Full Name: Simza Aishe Faa
Nick Names: Faerie
Student or Staff: Student - Animal Shelter Worker (and Groomer if also possible)
House (if student): Red Ribbon House
Age: 17 years
Ethnicity: Romany Gypsy (Romanichal)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Physical Description: Simza has medium brown hair which falls a couple of inches down past her shoulders, normally in soft waves as she rarely straightens it. For special occasions she curls it into ringlets. Her eyes' are a bluey gray color, which she almost always outlines in kohl. Simza has a light pattern of freckles across her face.
Simza stands at around 5'5" tall and has a naturally slim figure. She's a US size four and tends to weigh in at around 115 pounds. She never really obsesses of her weight, she's just thankful that she's naturally skinny and can pretty much eat what she wants. The only thing she worries about is her lack of curves, although she won't let you know it bothers her.
Clothes wise, she can normally be found in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt - either loose or tight fitting - often with a silly cartoon on the front. It's rare for her to be seen out with a smudge of kohl and foundation, but she doesn't go over the top with it - keeping the look rather natural.
Personality: Simza is confident but not overly so. She finds making conversation easy and could never be described as shy, but nor is she the 'in your face' sort of person. She's a fairly feminist, independant girl and would never want to be seen needing help - although she wouldn't reject it roughly. She often struggles with acting calm in classes and such, Simza feels the need to constantly be on the move and occupying herself. When she's made to sit still, she fidgets and fiddles with things - a habit that doesn't tend to get her in the good books of her teacher. Despite that, she is actually rather bright and tends to maintain A/B grades - when she puts her mind to it she can achieve A*'s.
She finds making friends easy, and will normally have a large group of people that she talks to, but only one or two really close friends. She protects her friends as much as she protects herself, and isn't averse to a slanging match if someone insults her - one of her worst characteristics. She doesn't have a massive interest in boys, she'll go through a couple of boyfriends a year but she wouldn't say she's ever been in love. Due to her culture she ought to be thinking about finding someone to settle down with and marry now, but Simza has no interest in that yet, wanting to see the world.
History: Simza was born into a large, extended Romanichal - a ethnic group of Romany Gypsies - family in the south of England. For the first ten years of her life she travelled with her family in a traditional bow top vardo (wagon) pulled by a horse she adored. When the horse sadly passed away, the family moved to a more common place caravan and continued to travel. Her parents were graiyengros (horse-dealers), and Simza started riding very early in life - before she could even walk. Her parents were kind to their horses, following the style of training a horse to be ridden perfectly completely bareback before introducing any tack. Simza learnt to ride this way, and still prefers to ride without tack.
Simza loved the way of life she found herself in, learning English as well as speaking Angloromani - the mix of English and traditional Romani language. She fell in love with several of the horses she worked with, but learnt that they would be sold on by her parents - not out of cruelty but that was just the way it worked. Simza was almost eleven when she was allowed complete responsibility for training a young horse, and since then she spent her time working with always three or four horses at a time bringing them on ready to sell. Her school attendance was sporadic, Simza probably spent about half as much time as she should in school, but her purri dai (grandmother)
insisted she kept up to the standard of the gawjers (house-dwellers), which she duly did.
By the time she was fourteen her grandparents had chosen to settle in one place and found a house. As the only daugher in her family - with four younger brothers - Simza was adored by her purri dai. When she expressed an interest in seeing more of the world and improving her skills with horses, it was her purri dai who supported her. Two years after she first started campaigning to attend a boarding school, her purri dai finally convinced her family it was acceptable. Simza faces the very real possibility she will return home to find she has been disowned by her family for spending so much time with gawjers and not maintaining the way of life that she should. Regardless, funded by her purri dai, Simza is making her way to America to attend Blue Ridge Academy.
Misc.:
Face Claim/Playby: Kaya Scodelario
.Sala.
Name: Sala
Age: 2 years
Species: Dog
Breed: German Shepherd
Personality: Sala is very obedient, but only because she utterly adores Simza and would do anything to please her. She will often put on an aggressive 'front' when she feels threatened, and has a very loud bark. Her bark is much worse than her bite though, and Sala has never attacked anyone. In reality, she is extremely friendly and loves nothing more than a good cuddle.
History: Sala means happy in Angloromani, and Simza has owned her since the day she was born - Sala was from a litter of a family friend. She has come to America with Simza as she couldn't have beared to leave the dog behind.
