History: Gunner was born and raised on the Rocking K n J Ranch. He was started as a two year old, and kept a stud until he was five years old, throwing two foals, one a red roan, and the other a few spot. He was ridden mainly by Jamie, Jesse's father, as a heading horse when the man and his brother went to a few local rodeos. But knew horses came along, new foal crop. And there was less time made for the horse. But, the man refused to allow his son to own and ride a stallion, as they were more unpredictable, so he had the horse gelded.
After that, Gunner became solely Jesse's horse, and Jesse began competing on him in calf roping. It was a rather easy transition since the horse was still running on the same side as the calf, even though the rider physically dismounted him. Jesse and Gunner went to the national high school finals rodeo together last year and won.
