You Never Forget The Beginnings
Lindsey had been out a about one day with her brother. They were walking one of their dogs, Layla, who started barking randomly, at a tipped horse trailer. Lindsey and her brother were in shock as they saw the sight, and it didn't take long for her brother to get on the phone and start calling the ambulance. Seeing that people were already out of the car, they had asked what happened, and the people didn't seem to care once so ever that horses were in the trailer still.
Once ambulance, police, a firetruck, and the Humane Society arrived, Lindsey had stayed, where her brother had walked home and told her to come home when she wanted. Sitting on a rock, Lindsey watched as a dapple grey mare was rescued out of the trailer, she wasn't doing very good, so the Humane Society decided that it was her time to go. She was beat up and it wasn't right to let her suffer, since her leg was clearly broken, and a horse needs four good legs.
As the mare was put to sleep, Lindsey was spotted by one of the workers, and asked to help get the foal out. Since the trailer was safe to enter, as the firefighters had said, and none of the workers could get in, they asked Lindsey to herself. Nodding, eager to get inside, Lindsey crawled to the back, and eventually with the workers help, they got the foal out safely. Since he wasn't injured, the owners could still keep him, although Lindsey disagreed as they said that he was to be sent to the slaughter straight away, after the vets did a test on him.
They had revealed that he was ill, but would get better with the right treatment. The owners didn't want to pay for the treatment, so slaughter was their first option? After Lindsey had called her parents, they had agreed to take in Titan themselves, and would of the mare, but couldn't, because of now. The workers had taken Titan to their farm, and gave Lindsey directions on how to feed him, as he still needed milk to live.
Every night, and day, Lindsey was constantly in the barn, where she got frostbite (partially why Titan got his name like that) feeding Titan his bottle that they had permitted to her. She had slept in the barn one night with Titan, who laid next to her, thats when her parents agreed to keep him forever, instead of just fostering as they had been doing.
Once Titan was done with milk, the workers gave her feed for him to start off with. Lindsey did as she was told and before she knew it, Titan was ready to go with training. So that is how they both got started into eachother. Been with eachother their whole lives, and hope to stay together, through his retirement as well.
