GABRIELJASPERREESE
Shine a light through an open door
Full Name>> Gabriel Jasper Reese
Nicknames>> Gale, Gabri
Age>> August 4th of 1988; 24
Staff or Student>> Staff (job: counselor)
House>> N/A
Gender>> Male
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Robbie Amell
Alias>> Ravvi
Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Gabriel has definitely changed from his teenage years. As a youngster he was a rebel in every sense of the word, but now… now he's a fairly respectful and respectable young man. For the most part he's friendly and doesn't automatically assume things about other people. Gabri tries to be friendly to everyone and is a great listener now that his own life is fairly straightened out. He wants to help troubled teens and people in general and acts a lot like an older brother to most people he meets, if they are younger than he is. He has a way of making people relax around him and likes to be liked by people. He can also become very protective of people once he makes great friends with someone.
Likes>> Swimming, hiking and exploring, reading, drawing, mud-riding, and short rain-showers
Dislikes>> Lightning, hot and muggy days, seafood, having his picture taken, spiders, and ferrets
Fears>> Being struck by lightning (again) and spiders
Hopes>> He hopes to one day settle down and raise a family and he also hopes to one day own enough land of his own that he can quit boarding his horse/horses and keep them at home
Secrets>> His father is in prison for life for manslaughter. Gabriel was raised by his Aunt Estella and Uncle Robbie from the time of his birth, as his mother was in prison for drug use at the time he was born (when she got out, she never tried to get custody of Gabriel and hasn't been heard from since she got out of prison when he was six years old).
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Gabriel stands at a respectable six feet, two inches and weighs a good one-hundred and eighty pounds. He does lift weights on a regular basis, so is quite strapping. He has dark brown hair usually styled in a spiky sense and his eyes are a greenish-brown color, sometimes looking greener, and sometimes looking browner in color, depending on the lighting. Gabriel smiles easily and his smile lights up his face. He mostly looks quite approachable, though at times, when he's brooding over something (as he still does sometimes get in a dark way) he may not seem quite as approachable. He doesn't really dress to fit his age or his job.
Most of the time, Gabriel can be found in wife-beaters, pullovers and hoodies, graphic t's, and ripped up jeans… very not professional… but then again, in his experience with counselors, the more 'professional' you look, the less likely a person is to talk to you, especially if you're working with teenagers.
Markings>> He has a small scar on his ankle from surgery after he broke it several years ago, and he used to have his ear pierced but no longer wears anything in it. Gabriel does have one tattoo, which is a rebel flag and barbed wire on his left shoulder-blade.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> He's broken his jaw, his collarbone, his right elbow, his left wrist, four fingers on his left hand, one finger on his right hand, and his right ankle. He's also dislocated his left shoulder twice. As far as other injuries and illnesses go, he's had surgery to repair his broken ankle and has had most of the usual childhood illnesses that kids get.
Criminal History>> Gabriel, as a teenager, had several run-in's with the law. He never got into things such as drugs, but he found that he loved to street-fight, which was illegal where he grew up. He was often brought home in the back of a squad car and even spent a few nights in the local jail here and there… until his uncle sent him to Military School when he was sixteen, where he straightened out some. Coincidentally, street-fighting and military school is where most of his injuries came from… (Gabri used to have a lot of pent up anger at both his biological parents for 'abandoning' him, which is why he got into fighting in the first place… what better way was there to release his frustrations…? Luckily, at military school he learned how to control his anger and even found a career he knew he wanted to go into… counseling!)
Full History>> Gabriel was born in a prison. Literally. He was one of those 'prison babies' like you see on TV, as his mother, Annabel Reese (unmarried) was an inmate at the time of his birth.
Instead of going to his father (Jeffrey Halverson), Gabriel was raised by his mother's older sister Estella, and her husband Robbie Fitzgerald. Why wasn't he raised by his father… and why was his mother in prison, you ask? Simple, really… Gabriel's father was sent to prison for manslaughter (with no hope of ever getting out or parole) several months before Gabri was born, and his mother got caught with drugs just a few months later. Since it wasn't his mother's first offense, she was sentenced to six years in prison.
Gabriel grew up with his aunt and uncle, and he loved them, he really did… but he also felt abandoned by his biological parents. At school, everyone else had their biological parents, or even just one, but it was more than what Gabri had. Kids didn't understand in Elementary school, and when Middle and High School hit, teasing began. It was never much said to his face, as Gabriel was built bigger than a lot of his schoolmates and had a reputation for being quick to anger and quick to throw a punch, but much was said behind his back about his lack of 'real' parents… about the fact that his biological mom hadn't wanted him when she did get out of prison back when Gabri was six.
The next few years of Gabriel's life were relatively uneventful. He was like any other child, except for a distinct lack of real parents and a certain disregard for authority figures such as teachers, older kids, etc... even at a younger age. Indeed, the only 'big' thing that happened to him during his younger years was being struck by lightning. It happened when he was nine, and it left with him a strong fear of lightning... and he's never been caught out in a flash flood again. Gabriel spent three days in the hospital for observation purses after being struck by lightning, as the strike wreaked havoc on his system, causing muscles to contract painfully and leaving him unable to move without intense pain for several days afterwards. Short-term side effects of being struck included random contracting of the muscles, shortness of breath, and speech problems, though thankfully all those side effects were resolved within a few months.
When he was thirteen, Gabriel started 'acting out' in a sense of the word. He'd always been quick to anger, and he found that he enjoyed fighting… enjoyed causing pain to others, as it made him feel better. He was no better than a bully from that time up until he turned sixteen, and got into a lot of fights during those years. Often, he was brought home by the police, as he'd quit listening to his aunt and uncle and did what he wanted in terms of when he came home and when he left. Gabri spent several nights in the local jail. He was sixteen when his uncle finally decided to send him off to a military school in hopes of curbing his attitude. So Gabriel was shipped off for the next two years.
When he graduated at eighteen and came back home, he was definitely a different person. At military school, he'd straightened up, and, while not quite as respectful as his aunt and uncle had wished, he was no longer a delinquent and he was planning on attending college, going into Counseling. He'd chosen counseling because he wanted to help those kids who needed it, like he had needed. He also came home with a love of horses, as, at his new school, he'd learned to ride and had found that he quite enjoyed being around horses. They were calming, relaxing... Shortly after graduating school, Gabri bought his own horse at an auction. He managed to get a great deal with a great find, as the equine market was (and still is) down so low. The horse he bought was a bay Thoroughbred weanling out of a very well-bred mare and by an equally well-bred stallion. Gabriel got the weanling for a mere three-hundred dollars. He changed the young colt's registered name from 'Crowd Control' to 'North to Alaska', after the song, and called him 'North' for short.
Over the next few years, Gabriel dished out several thousand dollars to have North professionally trained as a Show-jumper and Eventer and even had him trained in a few western speed events, though Gabriel and North's trainer soon found that the young stallion enjoyed Show-jumping more than anything else. He also spent several thousand dollars over the past years riding with different instructors and learning more about horses in general. North, being trained to ride the western discipline also enjoyed and still enjoys gaming events such as timed barrel runs, pole bending, flag-racing, and also simple trail-riding.
Gabriel spent six years in college, majoring in Counseling. He graduated with a Masters degree in the field and has since been looking for a job in which he can be a guide to teenagers. Surprisingly, he can connect with teens better than a lot of people, both because he is so young himself and because he's been there, where the 'troubled' kids are, and he's managed to get past it to become a better person.
We found love in a hopeless place
JAKK>>
Registered Name>> BK Shenandoah
Age>> 4
Species>> Canine
Breed>> Jack Russell Terrier
Registry>> American Kennel Club
Personality>> Jakk is four years old, but still acts a lot like a puppy at times. He is very loving and thinks he's a lap-dog. Literally. Jakk likes to lay with Gabriel on the couch and take long naps, but he also loves to take walks and swim. He does bark, but he has never bitten. Jakk is very well trained, having gone through obedience school, and knows several commands such as 'sit, roll-over, bang (play dead), stay, come, fetch, speak, shake, get help, and no'. Jakk is very smart and energetic.
History>> Jakk was born at the Blackstone Kennels and raised there until he was weaned from his mother. He, along with his sisters and brothers, were put for sale for five-hundred and fifty dollars apiece. However, Gabriel had met the Blackstone's son Michael in college and because he was a good friend of the family, he bought Jakk for only two-hundred and fifty dollars when the dog was a puppy. Since becoming the dog of Gabriel, Jakk has gone through extensive training.
