Personality>> Alex is a reserved guy, preferring to spend time by himself or with his horse or dog than other people. You'll rarely hear him talk about himself as he finds it hard to open up to people, especially those he just met. He is a loyal friend, but because he is not the most outgoing and he can get overwhelmed in big groups, he finds it hard to make friends. When he first meets someone, he struggles to make small talk and keep the conversation going. He doesn't like having attention focused on him, which is why he backed out of the world of competing. He does, however, wholeheartedly love show jumping and wishes to share with others the exhilaration of riding a quick, precise course. Most often you'll find him reading a book in his horse's paddock or playing fetch with his dog.

Appearance>> Alex is a fairly attractive guy, with blond hair, blue eyes, and a narrow, angular face. His hair is medium length, and is more often than not messy and disheveled. He has some stubble on his cheeks and chin and around his narrow lips. He stands at about 5'11" and has a narrow build. He keeps his body toned, but he is considered to have more of a skinny body type than athletic or muscular. He has a very European look to him.
You will most likely find Alex in a pair of jeans and a well fitted t-shirt or sweater. He is not too concerned with how he dresses, so his wardrobe is filled mostly with clothes Alex finds comfortable. He does own a suit or two for nicer events, and nice casual clothing for dates and such, but he feels most in his element when he is wearing jeans dirty from his horse and a cotton t-shirt. As for shoes, he tends to wear comfortable sneakers.
Because his parents pushed so hard for Alex to compete, he has very nice breeches, tall boots, paddock boots, and half chaps. He has nice show shirts and jackets which he never wears, and nice polos he had to get to ride at the show barn his parents wanted him at which had a strict dress code. Therefore, when on his horse, he never looks anything less than distinguished.

Full History>> Alex was born on April 1 to two successful parents. His mother did surgeries for famous horses who were sick or injured, and his father was a leader in the business world and made a lot of money. Therefore, Alex was always well dressed and owned the nicest things to put in his oversized house. His mother noticed he was good with animals and put him on a horse when he was very young, and Alex fell in love. He got his first pony when he was 6, and with him he entered the lead-line classes at local shows. As he grew older, he got more ponies and horses as he grew out of the old ones, and his parents, both of whom valued being the best in their trades, pushed him to be more competitive. They would buy him the best of the best mounts, wanting to see Alex carrying a blue ribbon - red wasn't good enough. Alex was trained by the best trainers and became a known name in the show jumping world. He would show the AA circuit the whole year, finding himself in special tutoring schools so his education could fit in with his busy competition life.
Alex hated it. He hated seeing the disappointed looks on his parents' faces when he didn't do well enough. He hated how when he won, they looked as if they expected it. Never did they say they were proud of him. There was never time to breathe and savor a win. Alex was constantly being pushed forward, being told to prepare for the next day of competitions and being told what he did wrong that he had to improve on. He was tired of the pressure and the attention, so when he was 18, he took the money he had earned and saved from sponsorships and prize money, took his horse, and moved away from his parents. He was unprepared to go to college since horses were the only thing he had ever known, so he looked for work in the horse world, as a trainer or manager or even a barn hand, anything he could find. After years of going from barn to barn looking for steady work, he saw that Blue Ridge had an opening for a show jumping class instructor, she he decided to share his love for riding with others and take that job.

Personality>> Jackson is a typical puppy - getting dirty in mud puddles, exploring new things, and playing with strangers. He is, in many ways, the exact opposite of Alex. His playful personality draws in passerby's forcing Alex to communicate with them. He is well trained, always coming when he is called and knowing commands such as "spin" or "jump." He never strays far from Alex's side, though he loves playing with new people. He enjoys running and his favorite game is fetch.
History>> Jackson was bred to be an agility dog. His mother had a large litter, however, and thus his breeder put him along with a few other members of his litter up for adoption. Alex picked him up when he was feeling extra lonely and was looking for more constant company. In the six months that Alex has had him, he has traveled with Alex to different barns in different towns and different states while Alex looked for a job, enjoying the different sceneries and the puppy adventures he had. It is believed that Jackson is part labrador, but his exact pedigree is unknown.
