Personality>> Sonja has a predominantly New York accent, with a hint of a German one. A lot of people are intrigued about this, and she feels her accent is a great conversation starter.
Sonja is the definition of an "adrenaline junkie". She is always doing things that give her a thrill, which is why she picked up cross-country riding. Despite participating in dangerous activities, she is actually quite a worry-wart. She's always stressed out about something; whether it be grades, or riding. She keeps all of her worries to herself, and tries her hardest to appear as laid back and down-to-earth as possible.
She doesn't get along well with most girls. That being said, the majority of her friends are male. She finds that she shares common interests with boys, such as video games, getting dirty, and doing stupid things. She's defines herself as a tomboy. She enjoys her title as "one of the guys" and is quite often called "dude" by her friends.
She's quite outgoing, but comes across a bit cool, mainly due to her often sarcastic comments. That aside, she's very easy to get along with, and tends to not be a part of any drama. She has a genuine "love" for people, and she loves to meet people and befriend them, and just hold conversations with them. She loves nothing more than getting to know people and hearing their stories. She is very philosophical in thinking, and is never shallow.
She is a vegetarian, but not because they mistreat animals or anything like that. Her absolute biggest fear is getting E-Coli 0157:H7 from eating bad meat. She absolutely refuses to eat meat of any sorts. She doesn't go around preaching her vegetarianism, though, and hates PETA.
Her mother always told her that she is a "leader, not a follower", and she agrees immensely. Whenever she's in a group, she quickly finds herself as the "leader", who coordinates everything. She also has a lot of ambition; her life dream is to be an equine veterinarian/4-star eventer. Sonja is the ultimate neat freak, and even goes as far as color coding her wardrobe. She is also a profound cat lover, and has been told that she will be a "cat lady".

She has a square-jaw with profound cheekbones, has the typical, brown eyes and brown hair. She isn't much of a makeup wearer, or one to do her hair. She doesn't put much effort into her physical appearance -- not because she doesn't care -- but because she likes how she looks and is comfortable in her own skin. She doesn't do her eyebrows, which a lot of people find weird, but she likes her eyebrows and doesn't want to touch them. She has light olive skin, and a mole on her left inner thigh.

Full History>> Sonja was born in East Germany, in the large city, Cologne. She is the middle child; her older brother is 21 and her younger brother is 13. At age 5, her parents decided, like many other families, to move to the Americas, in search of a better life for themselves, and their children. Her parents spoke English well enough to get by, but their two children didn't speak a lick of English. For the months following up to moving, they did nothing but teach their kids English.
Her family moved to Yonkers, New York. There, her father spent the week in Saratoga, a city 3 hours south, to work as a stable hand at the racetrack. He would come home every weekend to his family. Her mother, a homemaker, taught her children American culture and English, and enrolled her children at the local public school.
Sonja learned most of her English from the students at school, and her teachers. So, naturally, she picked up a New Yorker accent, with a hint of her German one. In school, she was a natural at English, mainly writing and analyzing texts, but horrible at math and science.
At age 10, her mother and father decided to introduce Sonja the horses at her father's job. She immediately fell in love. Because of her father's connections, he managed to hook his daughter up with some riding lessons. Spent spent the beginning of her riding career riding Thoroughbreds, either off-the-track, or just in need of a ride. For a while, she wanted to become a jockey. She exercised any racehorse that needed a run on the track, and she fell in love with the idea of racing horses. But, at age 12, she was 5 foot 5, which was less than ideal for becoming a jockey. Her trainer suggested she look into riding cross-country, which is a mixture of galloping through a "track" and jumping obstacles. She was a natural at cross-country. At age 15, her parents invested in a off-the-track Thoroughbred gelding, named Henry. They were a great pair.
As her riding skills progressed, and her academics regressed, her parents decided it would be in her best interest to send her away to the notable Riding Academy in Blue Ridge, Kentucky. There, she could focus on her riding and education, without having to struggle to balance it.
At age 16, Sonja, her cat Chloe, and her gelding Henry set off from Yonkers, New York, to Blue Ridge Academy, Kentucky.
