Meeting her new horse for the first time was going to be an interesting thing for Ty, the one thing she was looking forward to being here. The bay mare was a bribe from her father, maybe she’d like it more with an expensive horse. Whiz’n Through Montana, she was a bay mare, she was nine and an overly trained reining horse. They called her Tana and she had apparently earned money at National Reining Horse Association shows along with others. After getting ready Ty walked into the Red Willow barn where she was told the mare was being kept. Looking around the barn she let her eyes look around, stepping through the shed row, spurs clicking as she stepped. Finding the stall the mare was in Ty stood in front of it, looking inside. The bay mare didn’t look like much, but she had a purple slinky covering most of her front and a white and purple blanket covering her bay body. The mare’s legs were clean, solid black up past the knees and hocks. She looked like a nice horse at first glance; a nice long tail left Ty hoping for a nice mane. Petting the mare’s dark lips from outside the stall she figured the mare was nice enough.
Grabbing the mare’s halter she let herself in, a bit set off when the mare’s ears pinned for a moment. Sighing slightly the fifteen year old haltered the mare, walking her out to a set of ties where she clipped the mare up. Starting at the blanket she slowly unclipped it, pulling it off the mare, hanging it up neatly while she wasn’t using it. Now Ty didn’t know what the rules were about leaving things when riding but figured it was the same as her old barn. Hopefully nothing got stolen. Though from a second look at the blanket the name on the opposite side would give it away. Unclipping the mare for a moment she slipped the halter off, stripping the pink slinky off the mare’s chest, neck and face.
From there a beautiful bay mare with stocky muscular features shone through, nodding her head as she stood back to admire the mare. The mare was pretty, a nice braided mane and long forelock, a little thin, but it would hopefully thicken up with more care. For a few minutes the girl just stood there, looking over the horse. Walking around her once before settling in front of her just a few feet away, checking both the mare’s conformation and checking over her in general. The sounds of people around the barn didn’t really bother her much. Simply she just stood in silence, looking over her new horse. The bay snorting and impatiently, flicking her tail as she stood waiting, showing a bit of impatience but otherwise standing quietly.

Miranda tossed the liniment and wraps that she had collected for Thorn from hand to hand as she walked back towards the barn. During her checking of the horses that the school owned, she had found that the mare's leg was showing a bit of heat, and while it didn't seem to be swollen, she wanted to prevent anything happening to the mare, since she was a noted jumper. As Miranda made her way to the mare's stall, she saw a girl removing the slinky from a mare that she had noticed earlier in the day. Walking around the mare to get to Thorn's stall, Miranda smiled at the girl and balanced the liniment and wraps on Thanh's stall door. Deciding to indulge her curiosity, Miranda nodded at the mare, "Beautiful horse. What do you do with her?" She could see the muscled mare's structure, and from the breed and the girl's spurs suspected Western, but she wasn't all that great at guessing the different western disciplines, and didn't want to try now. Turning to Thorn, she held out a hand, "I told you I was coming back." The mare snorted, and Miranda smiled as she picked up her things and let herself into the mare's stall, which was close to where the girl had tied her horse. OOC;: I'm sorry, it's a horrible post... The next one will be better. ;- )

The sound of another girl’s voice turned Ty’s gaze from Tana to young blonde girl. Blue green eyes stared a moment, looking back over the mare. ”Reining.” Her voice spoke simply. Looking back at the girl, watching as she walked into a stall quite close. Figuring this was as good of a time as ever she headed to the tack room, finding her things in her respective locker. Grabbing out her grooming kit and boots, she swung the headstall and reins over her shoulder, figuring she’d come back for the blanket and saddle. This seemed like as good of a time as ever to ride the mare, she didn’t know anything about her so it could just be interesting. Obviously her father trusted her with the horse, but what did he know, it wasn’t like he was a horse person. Though she figured her last trainer had gone with him to look at the mare, knowing she trusted the woman more than she did her father when it came to decisions.
Coming back to where the bay mare was the girl hung the bridle up on a hook. Setting the kit down the girl pushed her brown and blonde highlighted hair back away from her face. Looking at the mare she picked up hair brush she started to brush the mare’s thin mane and forelock, putting some conditioner in it that should help thicken it up. Brushing through the mare’s tail she stood close and to the side, not sure if the mare kicked or not. Braiding the mare’s black tail into one single loose braid, banding it with a small rubber band before letting it down and patting her rump. Getting out a curry comb she started on the mare’s body.
