Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> With her daring personality and her stubborn ways, Snow can be a bit of a handful at times when she wants to be. A hard working girl who hardly takes things for granted, a girl who will hardly say no to any challenge thrown at her, and a girl who can be playful, yet serious when need be is the kind of girl that Snow is. Though she does have a few quirks in her system, those quirks make her who she is.
Very clumsy in nature, it’s a surprise that Snow hasn’t broken more than one bone in her body. She always finds a way to laugh at herself when she has one of her ‘clumsy moments’, despite the fact that she might be hurt in some kind of way. Usually she becomes clumsy when she’s distracted by something or unfocused when she’s trying to complete a task, but, nevertheless, she always gets right back up and finish what it is she wanted to finish.
In her old town she was known for her stubbornness, which has been known to get her in trouble at times. It’s honestly a surprise with how stubborn she can be considering how neither of her parents have this trait in their system is seems. She’ll argue with just about anyone just to get a point across, no matter how small or big the matter at hand is. Snow is not the type of girl to change her views on something easily, and it’s often a task to just try and convince her to think a certain way. She has her own way of thinking, and she goes by it, no matter what someone says. She’s also very competitive, a way that has become very accustomed to her since she was young. She’ll take a challenge head on, sometimes without thinking about it, and never backs down. It’s just not in her nature to do so.
She’s had to work hard all her life to gain what she has, and she doesn’t regret any of it. Working hard, she always figures, is the way of life, and she lives by that. While being a hard worker has done some good to the girl, it can also become a concern. She hates to stop working on something, which can often lead to her over exhausting and exerting herself. There have been times in her life where’s she passed out from over working herself, and she often has to remind herself not to take on too much at once. But, sometimes she just can’t help it. But, just because she works hard doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to have a good time. Actually, she can be pretty playful at times. Always laughing and smiling about something, it’s often a wonder if this girl gets mad. Though she may have a bit of a temper, she can keep it in check the majority of the time, but don’t let that fool you. She’s not afraid to speak the truth and she’s not afraid to tell anyone off. She does have a tendency to shoot her mouth off at times though, but it’s something that she’s working on. Speaking before thinking sometimes… Yes, that’s definitely Snow.
Not one to be easily impressed, it takes a lot to get this girl to fully focus on something that could interest or entertain her for a while. But, be that as it may, she does have a tendency to get distracted easily, more so in class, but if something does catch her eye she can’t help but be drawn into it.
Likes>> Peaches, animals, tennis, riding western style, boys, proving someone wrong, having fun, and curly hair.
Dislikes>> Stuck up people, people who give up too easily, losing, back stabbers, and candy.
Fears>> That she’ll end up failing out of school and ultimately failing her parents and herself, and injuring herself bad enough to where she won’t be able to ride horses or play tennis ever again.
Hopes>> To become some type of veterinarian in the future, and to finally do well in school.
Secrets>> As embarrassing as it is, to her at least, she keeps an autographed picture of the tennis player, Novak Djokovic, under her pillow as a source of inspiration to her. She’s had it since she was ten, and still she keeps it hidden from others.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Standing five feet, two inches from the ground, Snow is a little on the short side for someone her age, not that it bothers her at all, nor does she really care about it. She weighs only 110 pounds, which is something that has always worried her; her weight that is. She’s always worried about being too skinny, if only because she hates how being too skinny looks. Her skin is a light, caramel color and her eyes are dark brown, looking light brown in some lights. Her hair, though it bothers her so much at times, is something that she loves greatly. It’s a thick, curly mass of dark brown hair that goes a little past her shoulders. Hardly does she ever straighten it, mostly due to the fact that she doesn’t want to take the time to press it out, but because she loves the curls that she has. She also has plump pink lips that hide, at times, her white, slightly crooked teeth. You’ll hardly ever see this girl wearing any make up, though if she’s trying to impress someone she may put on a little mascara and eye shadow, something subtle though.
Her style varies; really it depends on her mood. Usually you’ll see her wearing either a tight fitting type of shirt, like a tube top or something similar to it, or you’ll see her wearing an over the shoulder type of shirt. She usually wears jeans or shorts, no skirts or anything of that matter. On what she calls her ‘lazy days’ you’ll see her walking around in sweats, something comfortable and she’ll usually have her hair up in a ponytail.
Markings>> She has a small scar on her leg from when she scraped it against the pavement one day while playing tennis. She has her ears pierced as well, along with a little scar that goes across her left side from when a window was slammed on it. Yeah, that’s a long story…
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> She’s broken her left arm once from falling off a horse, and she’s fractured her right ankle bone once before from tripping over her own feet while playing tennis. She has sprained her ankles many times more, but they were never serious injuries. Only once has she ever had to get stitches, and that was on her side. Other than those, she’s been a pretty healthy girl throughout her life. .
Criminal History>> None
Full History>> Snow. Definitely is a weird name for a baby to have, isn’t it? Yet, Snow doesn’t think so herself. Born on a snowy December night in the upper peninsula of Michigan, a day where her parents were snowed in at a cabin they were staying in that weekend, that was how her name came to be. Her parents always told her that since there was a blizzard right outside their window that night, and since they really hadn’t been thinking about names at the time, they decided to name her the first thing that they saw, which was snow. Yes, when she was younger the name irritated the girl greatly, but eventually she got over that feeling of resentment towards her name. She actually quite likes it now.
Growing up in Albion, Michigan, Snow has had the opportunity to know what it feels like to live in the country as well as the city, more so the country than anything though. Her family owns a farm, their animals ranging from horses to goats, and all other farm animals in between, along with a quaint little house that they reside in. The farm was something that was passed down from her mother’s parents when they passed, saying that their daughter would take much better care of it than her brothers, and that they trusted her a little more. It was a little difficult at first for the family to settle on the farm, especially with a newborn baby, and things were a little hectic and scary for about the first year of Snow’s birth. There were times when the family thought they would have to sell the farm in order to have enough money to survive, but for whatever reason they never did. So the family continued on, and as things started to get better for them, Snow was growing older and becoming a bit of a problem child.
As things started looking up for the family, after her father finally got a job as the local zoo’s veterinarian, more money and animals started coming into the farm. They were able to sell a few of their crops during the season, but most of all they were able to work on the animals, more specifically the horses. And that was exactly how Snow got into them.
Just like her mother, Snow was instantly drawn to horses when she first met them at the age of two. Always laughing and wanting to be around them, her parents figured that they should start familiarizing her with the animals more often. That in turn led to Snow being able to ride the horses, with her mother on the back of them of course, but eventually as their little girl got older they let her ride on her own. And while horses were the light in her eyes at the time, there was also something else that caught her eye, something that dove itself deep in her heart when she first saw it. And that was tennis.
After seeing the sport on television, she begged her parents to let her play it. After much discussion about it, and after much begging on Snow’s part, they agreed to let her play. So, they set her up with lessons, and was actually surprised to see how well she played the sport, even at the age of five. While she didn’t start doing exhibition matches until she turned seven, she took the two years of practice to heart, though also riding horses in the meantime. It might have been a busy schedule for the girl, what with school, her homework, tennis, and horseback riding, but she could care less; as long as she was able to do the two things she loved most, she was fine.
She grew up to be more of a western rider in the long run, like her mother, and has a few trophies and medals and ribbons from her accomplishments in shows. While she has done English riding, more cross country than anything, her heart is still more into Western riding, specifically barrel racing. Over the years she also won a few trophies from her tennis, something that she values greatly, yet as she got older, probably to the age of fourteen, she started to drift off from the competitive tennis life. Sure it was fun and all, and she loved the adrenaline that came along with it, but she loved animals more and wanted to focus her attention on them. So, she stopped her competitive tennis ways and focused more on the horses. She still plays it every once in a while though, having a few friendly matches with people that she knows, but nothing serious. So, as a way to become more in tuned with animals, as she liked to consider it, her father started allowing her to come and watch as he did checkups on the zoo animals, even allowing her to watch a couple of surgeries that he had to do. Sure he brought Snow to work with him a couple of times, but never was she able to be up close like she had been then. She stayed around the horses more, especially her own, and practiced the barrels in hopes of becoming as good of a barrel racer as he mother was.
When she was sixteen and came home one day from school her mother gave her the brochure for the Blue Ridge Riding Academy. She was so ecstatic when she read the brochure, making her bounce up and down with excitement, that she didn’t know what to think about it! Both her mother and father said that she could go, that it would be a great experience for her to be around more horses and other people who loved them as well, but at that point in time, Snow found herself not wanting to leave home. Yes, her parents were a little upset, and a little surprised, that their daughter didn't jump at the chance to leave home and go to the academy, but they respected her wishes. She always said that she didn't want to leave her friends behind or the animals on the farm. She would miss it too much. But as the months wore on, and she was still at home, she regretted her decision.
So, another year later, she begged her parents to let her go to the academy. Literally, she begged to go. And after much pleading, her parents let her go, along with her horse, Skippy, a six year old gelding.
Snow, basically, had a pretty normal life. With her juggling tennis and horseback riding in her younger years, she prospered in both the sports, determined to excel in both of them no matter how many times thing got a little tough. Besides the few times she had gotten in trouble with her friends, and from sneaking out of the house every once in a while, she usually never got in trouble. Not often anyway.
