Personality>> Kate is a unique little creature who enjoys being so. With a contagious smile and charming laugh, Kate is the kind of charismatic that people cannot ignore. She’s pippy, interesting, precocious and unpredictable in every way. She’ll try to befriend many, though she can be pretty picky, and has a sort of wry sense of humor, that most find funny, and some find kind of odd. She’s quite critical of others, but will rarely tell them about it, though she’ll tell others. It’s hard to determine whether Kate is more or less mature than other girls her age. She clearly is more in touch with older students than her peers, but she seems much younger emotionally. She’s easily upset by things she finds jarring, and will speak up if something bothers her. If something immediately upsets her, she’ll likely hold it in and cry later, but there are occasions when it seems she can’t help it, and has an emotional explosion. She also knows how to hold a grudge, so it’s best not to get on this girl’s naughty list. Otherwise, she’s lovely. She’s known to come up with bits of poetry and odd facts when least expected, and loves the look of surprise on peoples’ faces when she does this. Unlike her brother, she can take a compliment, and loves to hear them, though she’s modest enough. She’s quite like her brother, Peter, in many ways, except without the protective shield he puts up around himself. She’s very artistic and can take almost anything and make it look beautiful, but prefers not to take art classes, and works on her own. She’s also a dancer, and focuses on ballet, which she was been taking for most of her life. She’s very talented at it, and took some gymnastics classes as well, but didn’t stick with it. Kate sings as well, which is probably what she’d most proud of, as she is a soprano, and has the voice of a lark. If anyone ever asks her to sing by chance, she will gladly do so. She loves the attention, and is certainly a performer, for which her brother is grateful, as it takes the attention off of him. Kate has always urged Peter to share his gifts more, as he usually shares his art only with her, but he doesn’t love the spotlight like she does. She does often take what she has for granted, both with her talents and spending money. She doesn’t really realize how lucky she is, but is more likely to just flaunt her gifts. Perhaps she’ll learn over the years. Kate has always been the wild child of the family, getting into trouble while Peter just complied with what his parents wanted and kept quiet. Kate questioned her parents on everything and tested them, breaking her rules rather often and getting away with it. She is quite sly and cunning as well, and loves the planning involved in her escapades. She’s intrigued by anything romantic, but is quite skeptic about true love herself.

Secrets>> She’s really very afraid of losing her brother Peter, which is part of the reason she decided to attend Blue Ridge. She knows that he suffers with emotional problems and hopes that by her being here she can help him as much as possible, though she’s never tell anyone this…especially him.

Appearance>> Kate has wavy, shoulder length medium-dark brown hair. She usually wears it down, or with the top pulled back. Her eyes are a beautiful grayish green color that almost looks sage under her dark lashes. She’s definitely very distinctive looking like her brother, and is quite pretty. Kate’s complexion is fair and smooth. She’s very skinny in a way that’s almost fairy like, and she’s an average height for girls her age, if not a tiny bit shorter. Her build is that of a ballerina’s and while her ballet teacher was criticizing other girls on their weight, Kate never had to worry, and just had to work on building her muscle. Kate wears minimal makeup, as her parents didn’t like her to, but she still got away with some. She plans to keep it this way and not overdo it, though when she dresses up she can make it look very nice, even on a girl her age. She usually dresses classically and formally, and especially likes to incorporate interesting vintage pieces in, scattered among her designer items. It’s not odd to see her in a dress for class very often. She usually wears a gold necklace with a bird pendant, and her earrings are usually posts. She most often wears pearls but also gold balls.
Markings>> Her ears are pierced. She also has a small burn scar on the side of her right wrist.

Medical History>> Kate is allergic to peanuts, and must be careful with what she eats, for anything even tainted with it can cause her to have an allergic reaction. She can be around people eating peanuts as long as she doesn’t ingest any herself, but if she consumes any she had a severe reaction. She is supposed to carry an EpiPen with her at all times. When she was 12 she was baking and got a second degree burn but didn’t tell her parents right away, and tried to treat it herself, not understanding how serious the burn was. As a result, she has a small, light burn scar on the side of her right wrist.

Full History>> Kate was born a second child in her “perfect” family. She never got all of the expectations set on her like Peter did, but was rather treated like a little girl all of the time, which she despised. It’s not to be mistaken that she didn’t have to be brilliant at things…that was just expected. It’s just that she went about her business and got good grades and did what she wished with riding. She put enough stress on herself with everything without having her parents on her back, so it was probably a good thing. She did however, disappoint her parents in the fact that she was breaking their rules all the time, and didn’t really do the things they wanted her to. When Peter began riding, she was six, and soon after he started, she did as well. She owned an old pony for a while, but she grew out of him and needed a more advanced horse to start her training in dressage and continue in hunters. She’d been competing since she started, beginning with the short stirrup division and moving up. She mostly competes in dressage and hunters, but trains in show jumping too, so she’ll enter a class once in a while in smaller shows that she goes to. She got her second horse when she was 11, and still uses her for dressage. The fjord, Madeline, had already been trained in dressage, and she helped teach it to Kate. They became quite good at it, but Kate decided that she’d rather get into hunters more, and start competing in equitation. Madeline could be used for hunter classes as well, but only to some extent, as she was not very scopey. Kate leased another horse for her hunter/jumper and equitation training, and used him for showing. Kate began dancing at a very young age, as her mother had put her into dance classes and she never stopped, unlike many of the other activities that her mother encouraged her to take part in. She focused in ballet, but also took jazz and tap classes up until when she was 11, so she has a good background in those too. When she stopped taking those classes, she focused in on ballet completely, and was dancing whenever she wasn’t riding, and barely had time for anything else. She spent any free time either in the studio or at the barn, training. When Peter left England for Blue Ridge, Kate was very sad, as they had been very close and spent a lot of time together. Kate started looking into applying herself, and was not surprised when she got in. She convinced her parents to let her attend Blue Ridge as well, convincing them that it was best for her. She has decided to leave Madeline back home, and lease her to a little girl, and bring Cailin with her. She’s also convinced her parents to buy her the horse she leased, Poet, to use as an equitation mount. They bought her Poet on the terms that she’d lease Madeline out while she stayed at home, and keep her grades up at Blue Ridge, as well as her record clean. Her getting into trouble was one of their fears of letting her go to boarding school, so they hoped that keeping Poet would work as a reason for her to stay out of trouble. She plans on focusing on hunter/jumper and equitation at Blue Ridge, though she’ll still take a dressage class, and use Poet, as he is well trained enough in dressage to be sufficient.

Personality>> Osiris is a rather aloof cat, which is odd considering his breed. Most Sphynx cats are very affectionate and are in one’s face all the time, but Osiris is not such, and has to give you permission before you can oodle over him. He seems to think very high of himself and knows he’s very handsome, though that doesn’t stop him from grooming himself all the time. He isn’t completely hairless, and has some peach fuzz on him which helps avoid skin issues, and he’s actually very soft. Kate had knit a collection of sweaters for him for the winter months, which he actually doesn’t mind wearing, but prefers to just have the heat on very high wherever he is. He’s often found looking out the window, though he’s purely an indoor cat.
History>> Osiris was born in a Spynx owner’s home, and was part of the families first litter of kittens. He grew up there and was neutered when it came time. Once the kittens were old enough to leave their mother, the owner went about trying to find homes for them. The Holdens were a friend of the family and got Osiris for Kate for her birthday one year. She adored him, despite his different appearance, as she’d been expecting a cat with, well, fur. Osiris had the freedom of the Holden Household, and spent most of his time either on Kate’s bed, looking out the bay window, or next to the fireplace. Kate hopes that he’ll be able to adjust to dorm life after having such a large space before, but she trusts that he’ll be fine.
