Kate pressed her nose against the window, oblivious to the glares she was receiving from the driver. She was not going to miss her first glimpse of her new school. She had, of course, driven up the same driveway before, but at the time it hadn't been her school. A couple months ago, she'd gone with her family to drop Peter off at his new boarding school in America, and had been amazed by it. Now, here was was at that same school, except it was all of her bags stuffed around them, and her horses were on the way as well. Looking over at Peter for a moment, she held back a chuckle as his expression. This time, at least, he could sit in the passenger seat, rather than being stuffed in the back with Kate and her bags. Their parents had decided not to come and drop her off. They said it was just because it was so close to the holidays and they were so busy, but in reality, it was clear that they'd been quite content to say goodbye at the airport rather than coming all the way to America like they had with Peter. Kate didn't care much. At least she had Peter here.
Pulling Osiris onto her lap, she stroked the cat's peach fuzz, nerves settling in her a little bit. It wasn't like her to be nervous, but she was starting completely over! Of course she'd make friends, and of course she'd do fine in her classes, but it was all so different. She'd barely been away from home before, and the experience was going to be completely new.
Finally, they pulled into the driveway. Kate grinned, excitement lighting her features once again. The campus was gorgeous, and it wouldn't take much to make it feel like home, especially with Peter here. She'd missed him when he was away, and having him around would probably be one of the best parts of being at Blue Ridge, even if it meant giving up her home in England. As the care came to a stop, she shoved Osiris quite unceremoniously into his cat carrier, paying no attention to the sphynx's angry yowl. She hopped out of the car and hurriedly notified the driver "You can put my luggage in room B-02 in the Red Ribbon House." It would probably take him a while, due to the sheer volume of her luggage. Pulling open Peter's door, she grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards the door of the main office, nearly running, "Come on Peter!" Once inside, she greeted the woman at the desk, "Hello, my name is Kate Holden. I'm a new student at Blue Ridge, and I'm here to pick up everything I need." She smiled sweetly, before looking up at Peter, her eyes glinting. Yes, Kate was quite glad to be here.
