Journal Entry #1:
Both Laddy and I have officially arrived at the Blue Ridge Riding Academy located deep in the heart of beautiful Kentucky. The trip went well, and I'm pleased to see how easily Laddy has adjusted to a new environment. I really shouldn't have worried about him- he was imported for gosh's sake- but being a horse owner always leaves you wondering about your partner's well being.
As for myself, adjusting to this place has been a breeze. Tom's place was just as (if not more) prestigious. My room is a cozy apartment suite that is not to big, nor too small. It's nice to have adequate spacing- I don't have to worry about cleaning as I did back home!
My job is proving to be quite enjoyable so far. I am allowed to offer private lessons as well as required to set up group lessons for a class of students. I hear they are some of the best in the nation, but we'll see about that after I give them a taste of some of Tom's old techniques...
Because I am not teaching full time, I am given quite a lot of time to work with Laddy. The extra time without other horses is such a wonderful blesssing as he truly needed the extra help. Hopefully all of this work will have a positive impact on his show season this year...
