Luka kept Jethro on his shoulder and walked across the campus to the recreation room. He had been working on some simple groundwork with Quiz, and now that it was getting darker out, he had run out of things to keep him busy. He had stopped by his bedroom to grab his newest book, Blutnacht, and had picked up Jethro, to let the cat have some adventure outside as well. Instead of settling down in the house common room, as he had done on many occasions before, he had chosen to go into the rec room.
Once he arrived inside, shutting the door against the colder afternoon air, he glanced around the room, surprised to see it rather empty. He moved over to one of the couches and dropped Jethro on his lap before he leaned back against the soft cushions. He plugged in the earbuds to his MP3 player, set it playing a nice Mozart piece, and then cracked open the book. It had been a present from his parents, a book that had intrigued them in the bookstores, and whose cover managed to persuade him to open it, even though vampires and witches weren't usually his style. Keri managed to make it through the day without any assistance, which was a huge accomplishment for her, seeing as she always had people looking at her strangely and asking if she wanted any help carrying books or working her horses. She hated it. Absolutely hated it. With the thought of her roommate bothering her even more (though she loved the girl to death), she quickly turned off the path to White Ribbon House and headed for a more common spot: the Rec Room. She usually found it full of students looking to mingle with the other houses and play a game of pool or two, but now, as she walked into the nearly deserted room and the wind behind her closed the door with force, she could see that tonight was not a busy night. She sighed internally, relieved that there weren't more people here, and that she could just relax.
She scanned the room quickly, seeing that every student was one she hadn't yet met. She shrugged her coat off of her left arm and then reached over and pulled it off her right shoulder, letting it slide down to where she could catch it. The arm sling and forearm cast were getting to be quite a nuisance, but she'd adapted to them and now just had to deal. Once she had her coat off, she reached down to her one shoulder bag and pulled out The City Of Bones, a book which she'd bought at the beginning of the summer and never had the chance to read until now. As she walked over to a quiet corner, she spotted a boy with a cat on his lap and smiled at the sight. Though she thought cats were a bit evil, she still loved how adorable the looked and how fluffy their coats were. She chose the chair a little away from the boy and his cat, nearly diagonal from them, put her coat and her book down, lifting the shoulder strap up over her head, and then placing her bag next to it. She sat down and grabbed her book again, opening it up to the front page and beginning her read, though she was still stealing glances at the cat a little away from her... and she'd be lying if she didn't say she was looking at the boy too.
OOC: hope you don't mind if I join in!
