Aspen led down the Morgan towards the wash racks. After a long day of training, she needed to wash the mare up. This wash would take more of a hose then a brush to groom Bali down. She glanced around and started to spot the wash racks. She put the horse in one of the many wash racks and tied the Dark Khaki lead rope to the bar. She patted the energetic mare on the shoulder and went to get a wash bucket and her grooming supplies for this type of wash.
She started to fill the bucket up with lukewarm water and a shampoo to wash up the horse. She mixed up the contents in the bucket which eventually turned into any regular kind of soapy water. Soon satisfied, she checked the temperature of the water, making sure it was lukewarm again. She placed the bucket at the edge of the rack, where is was accessible when she got started on cleaning Bali down. Before she even gets started, she needs to hose down the horse. She grabbed the hose, turning to lukewarm as well, and started slowly rinsing the mare off. Working with the animal's feet and upwards, slowly and gently until she finishes by wetting the back.

Oliver led his leopard Appaloosa toward the wash racks, though he made sure the gelding didn't touch him in anyway. Even though it was the middle of winter, the boy had thought he would chance the weather and walk the gelding out since they didn't have any lessons that day and he needed to do some work with Cassie that day.
However, his plans had gone awry when the weather had changed suddenly and not only had they been caught out in a downpour - which the gelding was protected from due to the rug he had been wearing. However, it was when the Appaloosa had found a small pond - ok, a large and deep puddle - and had decided to roll in it. Not only was the gelding, who had been white with black spots, now a lovely colour of mud, he had also saturated his rug.
Walking the gelding into one of the wash stalls, he clipped the cross-ties onto either side of the gelding's halter and turned to get the hose. He then noticed another horse waiting patiently in another of the stalls, and then he grinned as the horse's handler appeared with grooming equipment. "Hey Aspen." He greeted. "I see you've had a busy time." He commented as he turned the hose on and waiting until the water ran warm before he pointed the water at the gelding's hoof, allowing him to get used to the water before he moved it up.

After a good rinsing from the lukewarm water. She feel the Morgan begin to tense a bit when she started to rinse. Then finally relaxing as the horse got use to the temperature. She knew the feel of the water had some getting use to. At least it wasn't piping hot or freezing cold. She turned off the hose and patted the mare's shoulders. "It's alright, girl..." She cooed softly and reassuringly as she heard someone, a boy's voice, calling her name. She turned her head where the voice echoed. She gave a light smile towards the other pair. "Hi Oliver." She greeted back as she got ready to wash down the mare, not wanting to let the Morgan just stand there all wet. She did the best she could trying to multitask two things. Washing up Bali, and chatting a few with Oliver. She then grabbed the sponge before replying the boy's second comment. "No kidding." She grinned towards him.
"So how have you been?" She asked with the same kind voice towards him before dunking the sponge in the soapy water and started to transfer the wash through the now soggy sponge. It has been a busy experience at Blue Ridge. Yet it is worth it when everything is doing well. She was glad she took the advantage of this extra time to spend some quality time with Bali, and course some quality care like in the wash racks. She took her time to work in the places where there is the most dirt. She used a grooming mitt while she was at it. Scrubbing away all the dead skin cells. She worked gently, but still good enough to get away any clumps of dirt from the arenas. She continued working along as she waited for a response from the other student.
