Toby walked towards the building with his coffee mug. He had enjoyed the summer off, but now the early eight o'clock classes were starting. He wondered how many students were going to sleep past their alarms this morning.
The cowboy pulled on the door, it lightly squeaking as he opened it and walked inside the empty halls. He grinned and offered a subtle wave at some of the faculty he knew. There was the familiar door. The man pulled out his key and unlocked it, opening it and putting the stopper down. He then flipped on the light switch revealing the single desks in rows, the dark blue carpet, his larger desk, and the front wall covered with large chalk boards. The walls had some history and government posters on them, since this was a shared classroom.
Mr. Mattews rested his hot mug on the cherry top wood and walked over to the board. He picked up a piece of whit chalk and wrote down his information, so students would easily know if they were in the right class:
Mr. Matthews Room 102 Government
He then took a small step back, and eyed his work. The man turned with a small sigh and walked over to his worn rolling chair and plopped down in it, the back squeaking as he did so. He grabbed the white mug and rose it to his lips, taking a sip.

At times like this, Cara wished that she was able to wear a watch. As she hurried across the campus, she patted her hair to make sure that it was exactly where it should be, in a tight bun with no stray strands on her face, and then brushed down her navy tailored pant suit to make sure there were no stray bit of straw sticking to it. In between gymnastics and her first class, she had zipped over to equine clinic to give Fée a bottle and to help Dr Carr take the horses out to their yards, and now she was certain that she was running late!
Heading into the academic buildings, she speed-walked down the hallway until she got to the door she wanted. Stopping she once again she a check to make sure everything was in its rightful place before she stepped over the threshold, into the class room and, keeping her head down, over to one of the tables in the front row.
Placing her satchel on the ground, she carefully began setting up her table. Anyone who was in more than one of her classes would realise that the placement of everything on her desk boarded on being OCD, and it was one of the girl's many idiocracies. She then tucked the satchel under her chair so that it was out of the way.

Olivia picked up her backpack from where it lay on the floor besides her desk. She crossed the room and ruffled Tory's ears, "I'll be back after class, okay?" The German shepherd wagged her tail, and Olivia smiled as she walked out of the room. Today she had Government, with Mr. Matthews. She had met the man already, since she would be his Teacher Assistant for the year, so she was really looking forward to the class. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and headed towards the door.
She walked towards where she thought Room 102 would be. As she saw the classroom, with its already open door, she glanced in, making sure she had the right room. As she saw Mr. Matthews, she knew she did, and she walked in, closing the door quietly so that it didn't slam. She smiled at the teacher, "Hi Mr. Matthews." She didn't know what she would be doing as his Teacher Assistant, but it sounded like fun, and from what she knew of the man, he seemed like he would be cool to work with. She found a spot in the second row, her favorite spot, because she didn't like being in the front front, but wanted to be close enough to hear everything that was said.

Renee woke up, knowing it was the first day of classes. She stretched her hands above her head and quickly changed into jeans, a shirt, and her boots. Leaving her hair as it was, only running a quick brush through it, she left the room. The sixteen year old walked down the sidewalk with a notebook and a pencil. She was looking forward to this class, as it would be easy work, just reading and memorizing things. She was good at that.
The blonde opened the doors and walked into the bustling hallway, busy even in the morning. She looked down at her schedule, and back up to the room number above the door. Chewing on her lip, she entered the room. Her orbs darted to a man at a desk, and she smiled small, seeing Mr. Matthews. She noticed his dress attire didn't change from this class, to his reining class. She took a seat on the front row and her eyes drifted to the board. She hadn't really taken the time to see who was all in the class. For some reason, she was always shyer in a class room setting. Well, this was the right class at least. She didn't know how many subjects the professor actually taught.

Ryan picked up his navy blue backpack and slung it over one shoulder as he headed out of the door of his dorm room. Off to government, the first meeting of said class of the year. He hoped that the class would be interesting, at the least, fun at the most. He knew where the classroom was for this one, though. He had taken the time to go looking for it the day before, just to make sure he wouldn't be late. He found it after a moment of misguiding himself, and walked into the classroom, looking around at the number of kids already there with him. He looked at the rows of desks and picked one towards the back of the room, next to another guy who looked to be about his age. He smiled at the guy, "Hey." He pulled a notebook and a mechanical pencil out of his bag and put them onto the desk before glancing up at the board, trying to decide what he thought of this class already. Hey, at least there was a pretty girl up in the front. Perhaps he would try talking to her later, see if she was nice or not.

The alarm on his phone started buzzing, telling him to get out of bed. The eighteen year old groaned and turned the alarm off. His gaze drifted to his roommate, who wasn't there. He shrugged and threw the covers off.
After a quick shower, the brunet threw on a polo shirt and jeans, and comfortable tan lace-up boots. He grabbed his red and black back-pack and walked towards the door, stopping to pet Kevin's kitten that was sleeping on top of a dresser. He then closed the door behind him and walked out of the dorm. The weather was nice outside, and he was almost sad he couldn't be riding right now, but, government wasn't that bad. He liked learning about more history though, rather than presidents and laws and documents. Even though it was what made up his country.
Tyson entered the building just as the first bell sounded. He walked to one of the first class rooms and stepped in. He nodded to the professor and then scanned the room. His gaze landed on Cara, and he offered her a smile. He saw a couple pretty blonde girls, one obviously classy, and the other looked more like the average girl next door. Two guys were also sitting at the back of the room. One of them looked like a... Tyson better not say that. Or even think it for that matter. But that plaid hat did look ridiculous. His eyes trailed back to the blondes, and seeing one of them was talking to Cara, he went to the other girl and sat down by her. He could easily read that she was shy, and timid. But, he had charm, and well, most people talked to him, "Hi," he spoke with a friendly smile, "The morning came too early for me," he lightly chuckled.

Rolling over in her bed, Alia sighed and stretched, looking at the clock, dread appeared on her face. It was 7:45! She had slept in, she usually woke up an hour earlier. Alia got up and began rummaging through her clothes fast. Pulling on a strapless shirt and some dark skin tight jeans, she ran to the bathroom to do her hair. Putting in earrings she got for her birthday, she quickly curled her hair and put on a plain heart necklace. She grabbed her bag as she went out the door, also putting on her other sandal. Crap, how did she sleep in? The previous days before school started, she had been getting up really early, like around five. Maybe it was nerves and now that it was really there this would be the outcome. No not anymore, but she had made a stupid mistake. As she ran down the hall, well slowly, she had remembered that she hadn't set her alarm clock, counting on her mind to wake her up. Well that was a mistake. Even if she had five minutes to get ready, she always looked good. She could throw on a outfit that looked good in the dark, and could easily just do her hair. Her hair was not stubborn like some peoples, when she woke up, it was just tangled slightly, and didn't take long to get ready. As she walked down the hall she looked at her phone, it was nearly eight, she relied on one minute to get there. Hopefully she wouldn't get lost. As she walked down the hall she saw the class. Yes! She wouldn't be late, she made it just in time as she reached the door. Walking in quietly, she noticed that some people were already there, and she sighed. She was pretty mad at herself for being so stupid. She rubbed her eyes for a second, just in instinct and nearly smeared the smoky eye shadow she did for her eyes. Luckily she didn't or she would have probably been known as the girl with smeared make up. That would suck. Walking along the edge of the class, she took a seat in the back, next to a guy. She didn't really care who was next to her, just usually she took a seat at the back. She dropped her bag to the floor soundlessly, and pulled out her notebook, and a pen. She used a pen usually, but had a pencil just if she didn't want to mess up. But her pen was erasable, which she loved about it. Alia leaned back in her chair and sighed, propping her head up with her hands as her elbow rested on the desk. Looking at the board, she read the name. Mr. Matthews. Well, this class looked fun so far,maybe school wouldn't be so bad here. Outfit

Riker slapped his alarm clock as the annoying beeping started to wake him up, and his bird, Cricket chimed in a bit. Sitting up in bed, after shutting off the clock, Riker got up and walked to his closet. Taking out a pair of sweatpants, and a nike shirt, Riker walked to the bathroom. Doing his usual routine, shower, teeth, hair, Riker was ready to go to class. Grabbing his bag, he made sure everything he would need was inside, and then he grabbed his phone, and walked out the door, after making sure that Cricket was locked into her cage. Riker walked across campus a bit to the main building on Blue Ridge. Walking up the steps, he looked into the large corridor, and then started to walk down the hallway. Looking into the rooms doors, he finally found room 102, which held Government, by Mr.Matthews. Walking in, Riker found himself, well not early thats for sure. Seeing that there were already nine students, and the teacher, Riker walked in and up to the teacher's desk saying, "Good morning, I'm Riker Gauge, I'm probaly not on your list, but I'm new here." Riker said glancing at the board, seeing general information. Walking to the back of the room, Riker took a seat towards the corner of the room.

Of all the academic classes on his schedule for this year, Government, was one of the classes he thought that would actually take some work and effort on his part. Being a born and raised Aussie, he knew plenty about Australia's history and form of government, but...this wasn't Australia...this was Kentucky in the United States of America....and that meant he would literally be starting from scratch in this class...
Yes he knew that George Washington was the first president and the American Revolution, but talking about elastic clauses and constitutional amendments to a country he wasn't from...well needless to say this class would be his mos trying.
Taylor walked at a good pace towards the academic building as he briefly enjoyed the sun on his face, before being locked away again within the confines of the buildings and the classrooms. He'd had an early start, stopping by the barn to check on Belvedere and so had scheduled in plenty of time to walk to class with no worry of being tardy.
He meandered through the maze of hallways and eventually found the dreaded class. He huffed as he pushed the door open, holding onto his backpack strap on his right shoulder. Entering the class he smiled towards the teacher and as was now his apparent custom...he made his way to the back and took a seat. He placed his bag on the ground and immediately slouched his tall frame into the most comfortable position...these darn seats weren't made for tall people.

Toby smiled small as each student walked in, slowly filling up the classroom. He figured he might have a rather large number, since this was a core class, and there weren't very many options to choose from anyway. He heard the sound of the bell and stood up, walking over to the door. The cowboy peered down both side of the hall with his dark blue eyes. Seeing that no other students were in sight, he flipped up the bottom door stop and let it close gently behind him. It wasn't locked, so anyone late could still come in. It just kept the in class students attention from drifting to distractions outside, "Alright, good morning, and welcome to Government," he smiled tightly. And then turned to the chalk board and picked up the eraser and started to erase the general information that had been up there before hand, assuming all of the kids had read it and were in the right class.
He then returned the eraser to the ledge and picked up the same piece of chalk he had before and started to write some words on the board, "Alright, let's start with the beginning of the government being established, and that would be when we declared our independence from England. Does anyone know the exact date that took place?" he asked, turning to look at the students. By exact, he was expecting more than just the year. Everyone knew the year.

Cara sat up straight when Mr Matthews stood at the front of the room and began speaking. She opened her folder and started writing down the answer to the question on the board The Declaration of Independence from America The Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. John Adams had put forth a resolution earlier in the year, making a subsequent formal declaration inevitable. A committee was assembled to draft the formal declaration, to be ready when congress voted on independence. Adams persuaded the committee to select Thomas Jefferson to compose the original draft of the document, which congress would edit to produce the final version. The Declaration was ultimately a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The Independence Day of the United States of America is celebrated on July 4, the day Congress approved the wording of the Declaration.
After ratifying the text on July 4, Congress issued the Declaration of Independence in several forms. It was initially published as a printed broadside that was widely distributed and read to the public. Jordan rushed out of her other class and ran to her dorm room, changing into normal clothes instead of her riding outfit. Then slinging her bag over her shoulder, she didn't even think about kenneling her puppy. "Be good girl, be back soon." Jordan said in a rushed tone, running out the door and across the campus. Entering up into the large corridor, rushing up the steps almost fallin, Jordan walked inside the large building and quickly found the room marked Government, with Mr.Matthews. Walking inside, she saw that class already had started and he had already started to talk, hearing the part about, "Alright, let's start with the beginning of the government being established, and that would be when we declared our independence from England. Does anyone know the exact date that took place?" Jordan noticed he didn't say anything else. Jordan then fully walked up to Mr.Matthews and said, "Sorry I'm late, I just transferred." she told him, and waited along for farther instructions, taking an empty seat, hoping that he wouldn't get mad.

Rose rushed through the doorway. She had had the worst time finding this class! It was her first day and Blue Ridge Academy, but she knew this was no excuse for being late. Her pale face grew pinker as she picked through the class and finally found an empty desk, trying to make as little a fuss as possible. She would apologize to her teacher later, as she didn't want to distract the class from their lesson. Rose sat down an reached into her book bag, pulling out her notebook and pen. She looked around quickly to see what the other students were doing, and most of them were just taking notes or watching the teacher.
Her morning so far had been fine, though she couldn't help but get lost going between the barn, her room, and the academic buildings. This time she had found the building fine, but ended up in the science wing rather than the math wing. It had taken her quite a while to figure out where she needed to be.
Looking up to the board she saw the question and noted down what he had already written, and she had heard him ask his question, though so far she didn't think that anyone had answered. She raised her hand shyly, not wanting to look bad or say the wrong thing.

Avery walked slightly faster as her phone registered that she was indeed, late for class. After being late already for another and becoming quite annoyed about it, the girl just sighed before relaxing her walk. She would get there when she got there. Perhaps, next time she would try not to be so late. Still, Avery knew the teacher would probably not shout at her too much due to the fact she was a new student. This fact caused a small grin to grow on her face as she made her way down the history hallway. Her eyes checked each room until she came across the easily recognizable government classroom.
The brunette let herself in quickly, smoothly giving the teacher a somewhat apologetic look before taking her seat in the back as usual. The girl was beginning to really like being in the back of classrooms due to how much went unnoticed by the teacher. From the looks of this cowboy teacher however, something hit her as she realized he might not be as easy as other teachers. The teachers at this school were annoyingly different from the terrible ones back home. She had gotten away with everything then, and made the teacher’s leave the classroom once in frustration at her unruly student.
Avery slouched in her seat, crossing her arms and looking up at the teacher as he asked about the constitution. She didn’t really feel like sharing her knowledge unless he actually picked on her. Besides, a lot of kids seemed like they wanted to answer it too. The brunette quirked her lips and waited for someone to say exactly what she knew they would. It wasn’t that she didn’t know, Avery’s opinion on trying her best had been shot down after her life had changed.

Madison was running late, though she was not totally to blame. Perhaps riding without a coat outside yesterday hadn’t helped but she had woken up at 7 that morning feeling like death warmed over. Her head was pounding, voice strained and whole tiny body felt like it had been hit by a truck. She had considered just going back to bed but decided to cover all her bases and not get in trouble for skipping class. She slowly pulled on a pair of jeans, threw on a blouse and scarf. Her coat was added when she slipped into her Toms and headed out the door; direction school nurse. She didn’t spend long waiting, apparently not too many students showed up at 7:45 – but by the time she left at 8:00 the room was starting to fill with sickly students.
Her note was an excuse from class, but now that she was up and functioning Madison decided to head to class anyways, returning to her dorm she collected her supplies and some Kleenex. With note in hand she went in search for the Government classroom, sucking on some halls she found the class and knocked lightly. Letting herself in she smiled apologetically and spoke out, her voice obviously hurting.
“Sorry.”
She didn’t say anything else as she found a seat towards the back and separated from the other students. She didn’t think her cold was deadly contagious and she wasn’t running a fever – the nurse had ruled out strep or anything of the sort. She was just tired and needed some rest according to the woman – Madison could sleep when she was dead. Besides falling behind was not an option when you had to function to your fullest just to keep up. She tried to gather what they were doing from the other students but was too far to see anything interesting, she looked to the other girl sat a row behind her she was slouched and didn’t seem to have much interest. Madison decided against asking what they were doing and instead stared at the blank sheets of paper that was her notebook. Head still pounding slightly she started to consider the idea of going back to bed. The note was burning a hole in her bag.
