Daniel entered the room he had been assigned to teach Calc in, and flicked on the lights. It had been decorated with posters and formulas, so it wasn't to drab. He had come down the day before and made all of the preparations for today, except for his lesson planner, which he had with him. He'll admit it. He is nervous for today, since it is his first day teaching a Blue Ridge. On his desk lay a box of chalk. Daniel opened the box, taking out a chunk o' chalk. On the board, right of Daniel's desk, which was in the corner facing the rows of desks, he wrote: Mr. Mattock Welcome to Calculus. Pick any seat you like, just pair up. He figured today would be a day where everyone got to know each other, and he could get to know them. Why not let them have some fun? He had replaced all of the chairs with chairs that roll, just to make it interesting, yesterday. On the closest desk to him there were some pamphlets and stop watches. Mr. Mattock did a quick count of all of the stop watches, making sure they were all still there, which they were. Then retrieved some paper from his supply closet, and some pens, placing of each on each desk as he walked by. Finally he was ready for the on coming day. Students should be showing up soon, as long as they decided not to skip day 1. He strolled over to a meter stick leaning up against the wall, grasped it quickly, then sat against his desk. Waiting. Cara shivered as she walked across the campus in the direction of the academic buildings. She paused inside the doorway leading into the building and leaned against the door-frame, just long enough to get the pounding in her head to settle down before she pushed herself away from the door and walked down the hallway. At the door of the classroom she wanted she paused outside the door and went the ritual she did before she entered any room; she drew a breath in through her nose and let it out slowly through her mouth. Circling her shoulders, she felt ready and entered the room. Keeping her head down, not making eye contact with the man sitting behind his desk. She surveyed the room and quickly read the words in the board, causing her to groan inwardly. She had always made a habit of not pairing up with anyone during classes. She didn't talk and when she did, most other teenagers looked at her as though she was from another planet. Walking to a table in the front row. She raised an eyebrow at the chair, not sure what her head was going to make of a chair that moved beneath her, before she gracefully sat down. She looked at the pen and paper disrupting the order of the table in front of her. She now had a problem, as the paper wasn't sitting perfectly in the middle of the table and it was in the way of how she normally set her desk up, and she wasn't even going to start with the pen that was there. Using the tip of her index and middle fingers, she pushed the paper and pen to the back left corner of the table so that she could set her desk up. Opening the satchel, she took out the conference zipped folder, which she placed in the exact center front of the desk. Picking up the paper between thumb and forefinger, she placed them on top of the folder and then dry-washed her hands before she reached back into the satchel once more. This time she pulled out her tin pencil case, which she opened and removed her black, red, blue and green ball point pens, a mechanical pencil and eraser, these were lined up carefully centre top of the desk and the tin was closed and placed at the top right corner. Last of all, she removed her glasses case from the satchel and after removing the glasses and putting them on, the case went at the top left corner. Now her routine was completely thrown out, as the bag was then normally tucked neatly under her chair, but this was now impossible as the chair had wheels. Without knowing what else to do, she carefully put it under the table, letting it rest against the front left leg. She was now ready for the class to begin. Outfit

Sara walked across the still-cool campus, Cinder at her side on his leash, her backpack... Well, on her back. She was looking forward to learning Calculus, although it sure seemed hard whenever she had looked at it on her own. She could only hope that they had a good teacher who could explain it well. As she headed into the building and walked past a few doors, she caught a reflection of her new shirt, which made her smile. It was something her parents had found for her, one of two, actually. It was a bit childish, perhaps, but it was funny at the same time. She found the math room and walked in, Cinder still at her heels. She smiled at the teacher quietly, then read over the words written on the board... Pair up? What fun. She glanced around, seeing only one other student already in the room. She walked over to Cara carefully and asked, slightly shyly, "Is it okay if I work with you?" She stood there, unsure, while Cinder's tail wagged ever so slightly, as if that would help get the girl to say yes.

Walking around in her room she pulled her curly locks back into a pony tail. She was happy to be heading to the next class. First off she already knew the teacher and she was fairly good at this type of math. It was her favorite subject ever, since the start of her school career. Picking up her books she headed down to the building where the non-equine classes where held. She looked down at her schedule to see the room number the class would be held in. She wandered, but not for long, to find the room number above the door frame. Walking into the room she saw Mr. Mattock, then her blue eyes roved around to see Cara and Sara, and two other unknown girls. She mostly avoided the other two and sat closer to Cara and Sara, since she knew them. Although when she read the board her stomach sank, Partners, She read. Goody, she thought to herself, a sarcastic smile played out in her mind, but didn't show in her features. Pushing her books towards the front of her desk she said nothing to no one and kept quiet. Thinking and hoping to god that she knew someone who walked into the classroom.

Riker slung his bag over his shoulder, yet another class he got through, and now off to another. Calculus. His mom had wanted him to take a advanced class, so Riker had to do what she said, not wanting to but had to. Exiting his classroom, Riker walked down the long hallway, passing every door and waiting for Calculus to show up on one. Finally finding the room he was scheduled to be in, Riker walked in. Great the only guy, Riker thought to himself. Walking up to the teacher's desk, Riker noticed some of the posters hating some, no wait all of them. Math was by far Riker's worst, and most hated class. "Mr.Mattock, I'm riker Gauge, new kid so I might not be on the list." Riker told him, getting a bit annoyed at having to tell every teacher the same thing, in every class. Seeing two girls already paired, Riker glanced at some of the other choices. Seeing some no so his type, girls, Riker glanced to the back of the room, spotting a red head. She seemed his type, and he already knew how she would act. Walking back beside her Riker said, "I'm Riker, mind if I join you?"

Luka glanced down at his clothes and sighed, "Jethro, ist alles deine schuld. Jetzt komme ich zu spaet." He made a halfhearted attempt at brushing off the blue-grey furs that had stuck to his black jeans, but knew that it was futile. He rubbed the cat's ear one last time before standing up and digging through his drawer to find a new pair of pants. He changed quickly, moved over his belt, and tucked in his t-shirt, which hadn't gotten too many hairs on it. He picked up his backpack and checked that his key was still in the front pocket before he walked out of the door, closing it quickly behind him as Jethro tried to follow him. He walked towards the math wing, managing to get lost once or twice, but finally finding the class that he was supposed to be in. He looked at the board and read over the directions, sighing slightly to himself. Why did they have to pair up? He glanced around the room, but didn't recognize anyone, which wasn't a surprise. He glanced around again, then sat in a seat by himself, hoping that someone would choose to come work with him. He might not be perfect at speaking English, but he was good at math, and he was expecting that this class would be, if different from the one he had attended at home, at least easy for him.

Mike sighed as he walked down to his next class. Just because it was a higher level class doesn't mean he has to like it. Actually, he really didn't like math, he just found it pretty easy. He scuffed his feet occasionally as he walked down the hallway, slowing himself down even more. After he could see the door to the class room he picked up his pace, seeing his delaying was futile.
Mike walked into the room where the teacher was leaning against his desk with a ruler in his hands. He locked his eyes on Mr. Mattock and gave a nod of the head and a slight smile. He looked confused at the chairs. Why do they roll? He wondered as he walked over to a seat that was open next to a blonde boy. Mike sat down next to the boy and rolled his chair slightly, back and forth. He looked at what must be his partner and introduced himself quickly. "Mike." He kept the introduction quick and simple in case Mr. Mattock wanted to start class any time soon.

Henri was above and beyond with preparation. Her new backpack was filled with only the best materials to help her learn. She knew it would be tough. The girl was taking only advanced classes this year, though it wasn’t much different from her homeschooling- or so she was told. Henri made her way quickly though the school before realizing she was pretty much lost. This was something she hadn’t planned on. Thinking for a quick moment, the girl lowered her bag and shuffled through the papers in it. There was the map. She took a quick peep at it before rushing off to go find her class.
Finally, the brunette made it. She twisted the door to enter, and to her horror, there were already at least a handful of kids there. She had always wondered how teachers managed to teach all the kids in one go. Today she supposed she would find out. It was her first day of class in any case, and Henri walked shyly into the room, acknowledging the board for a few seconds. Pair up? She studied the teacher, about to throw a tantrum. She didn’t want to pair up! Henri nervously looked at the following students and noticed that two girls had already paired up, as well as a boy and a girl and another pair of boys.
After another mini panic attack, Henri moved her way to the back, generally away from everyone else as she took her seat and began to prepare her desk. Organization always seemed to be able to get rid of her nerves pretty well. Henri sighed and moved her backpack against the desk to keep it steady and upright. Only then did she start fiddling with her bracelet, to try and do as the board said. She looked around slowly, and decided she would try and find a partner when everyone else arrived or until someone just came and sat next to her.

I have adjusted things in the post as if there was no Hayley and Enna, so yeah, Henri, Riker, and Belle are alone. Daniel looked down at the list of students, his hands spinning the meter stick. It balanced on one corner of the metal as it spun, only coming to a stop when he heard footsteps approaching. The feet very well could have been going to another room, but the noise came to a stop at the door. Daniel glanced up, seeing a tiny girl walk in. He gave a smile then returned his eyes to the paper in front of him. At the next student's entrance he looked at quizzically after a smile, then remembered that she was the student that had to bring along the dog. Dan gave Annabelle a large smile and turned in his chair toward the door. After a boy walked into his class he spoke to the young man. "Fresh copy this morning, so you are, Riker." As the last girl walked in Daniel, smiled, stood up and glanced at the group very quickly. "If you don't have a partner, feel free to make a group of three." He stopped for several moments for the last three to get in groups. Then, he walked over to the middle of the front of the room. "I am guessing you are wondering why we now have rolling chairs? Dan glanced around seeing several slight nods. He grinned and tapped his ruler on the ground very quietly. "Well, this is 'supposed' to be 'fun'." Daniel put air quotes around the words supposed and fun. "We will be calculating force and speed for today. Now, it is very, veeery easy to do. You might have been able to do this in Algebra I but if you don't find it fun..." He paused a moment before continuing. "Act like you are having fun anyway. Fake laughs, make fun of me if you want." He was grinning very lightly now. "So, don't worry about the stop watches, I decided not to use them. What you guys will be doing is, one will be sitting in the chair, and the other will be pushing the chair. Carefully, push them from he last desk, he gestured to the last desks in the back with his ruler, "to the front ones," he gestured to the front desks. "The group of three can have their own timer, you don't need me, I hope." He walked over to the board, and grabbed a piece of chalk before adding more. "So, to find force, you need to know the speed, which I hope you all know how to do. Once you find the speed you can get force. If you need help just ask, and I beg you, be careful." Daniel, erased the instructions on the board, then wrote down things he preferred them to record on the board. Time: Distance:~20 yards Average Speed: Weight of chair: 28.7lbs Your Weight: Acceleration: He added immediately after he wrote 'your weight'. "We are going to use the shipping weight of the chair, don't ask why, and the chairs don't feel that heavy at all. I am not collecting these, so you need not show anyone your weight if you don't want."Once he finished writing he turned around to the class. "Okay, be careful, have fun, and if you don't know your weight there is a scale in the back closet. Once you guys have gotten your proper data I will be checking to see if you guys showed work and doing it correctly. If you have any questions just ask." He paused a moment and grabbed a stop watch from an empty desk. "And begin."

Cara glanced up as a shadow fell over her, just as the owner of the shadow began to speak. She was nodding her head before Sara had finished, even if she did eye the dog warily. "Of course." She replied with an ever so slight smile, which vanished so quickly that people would question ever seeing it. She looked at the teacher through her lashes as he began to speak, and she understood the chairs and the reason for working in pairs, and as much as she preferred working solo she knew that would be impossible in this task. Picking up her black pen, she wrote down what was on the board: Time: Distance:~20 yards Average Speed: Weight of chair: 28.7lbs Your Weight: 64 lbs Acceleration: She glanced at Sara. "If it's alright with you, can I be the first to get pushed?" She was nervous enough about being in the chair. Slipping off the chair, she pushed it toward the back of the room - their starting point - and climbed back onto it. Swallowing slightly, she curled her hands around the seat of the chair and nodded her head for the other girl to start pushing. It hardly took any time to get to the front of the class room, but Cara could still feel her hands trembling as she uncurled her fingers and slipped off the chair to push it back to the starting line, keeping him mind her time. At the starting spot again, she waited for Sara to get comfortable on the chair and give the nod before she pushed the chair down to the front of the room - at a good power walk - and came to a halt again, waiting for Sara to hop off the chair before she took it back to her table and sat down on it, quickly writing down the answers, making sure to do the working on the paper, not just in her head. Time: 46 seconds Distance:~20 yards Average Speed: d/t => 20/46 => 0.43 yds/sec Weight of chair: 28.7lbs Your Weight: 64 lbs Acceleration:(v1-v2)/t => (.43 - 0)/46 => .0094 yd/s² She looked through it, frowning slightly as she worked out the calculations again and then letting out a breath as she smoothed her face out once again and waited to see what would happen next

Sara smiled as Cara agreed to them working together and moved to sit down, pointing under the desk and murmuring, "Subter." The malamute moved under the table and lay down, staying out of the way of Cara and Sara, although his head was turned to watch Sara, who nodded. She put her backpack down next to the chair and pulled out a notebook and pencil. When Mr. Mattock began speaking, Sara turned her chair towards him, and listened as he explained what they would be doing. She copied the chart down as he talked. After he had finished, she glanced at Cara, nodding as the girl asked to be pushed first, "Of course!" She glanced down at Cinder, who had best stay out of the way during this exercise, and murmured, "Mora." She left her notebook on the table and walked to where Cara had wheeled her chair. At the petite girl's nod, she started pushing the chair towards the front desks, as Mr. Mattock had told them to do. She stopped after they had passed the line, holding on to it for Cara to get off. After they walked back, Sara settled onto the chair, wondering if Cara would be able to even push her, and the chair. Since the chair had wheels, she didn't worry about it too much, so she just gave the nod and felt herself moving forward. After they reached the line, she stood and walked back to their table, sitting down at her own chair and starting to fill out the table. She had to work out the speed and the acceleration of the chair, although she still remembered her weight, so she didn't have to go to the closet and use the scale. Time: 53 sec Distance:~20 yards Average Speed: d/t => 20/53 => 0.3774 yds/sec Weight of chair: 28.7lbs Your Weight: 142 lbs Acceleration: (v1-v2)/t => (.3774 - 0)/53 => .0071 yd/s2

Henri’s eyes widened as she realized she was the last student to arrive. The girl bit her lower lip, doing the habit that had been passed down by her father. As aristocratic as the man was, the brunette had caught him actually acting like a normal person at rare times. It was these times Henri felt she might actually have a chance of talking to him, though it was no surprise he would forget the next day. It didn’t take her long to realize she was attempting to throw different thoughts in the way to get distracted from what she had to do.
Awkwardly, Henri moved toward the only other partner less student in the room. She was a bit too uncomfortable to attempt to start a conversation with the rough looking boy anyway. The two other boys had seemed to partner up, so she supposed going with the other girl was the safest route. Henri practiced what she was going to say in her head, realizing how ridiculous she was being in this. Truthfully, the girl’s fury for her teacher was growing. Why did she have to communicate with the others in her class? Partner work was something she had never done in her entire life, coming from homeschooling.
Still, she would attempt. Henri turned to look at the girl she loomed over by standing over her sitting figure. Blue orbs looked shyly down “Er… Partners?” she asked softly, hoping the girl would understand they weren’t going to be able to get through it unless they let their fears go and helped each other.

Quickly Belle moved towards the other two students who were partnerless. And nodded towards the girl with a smile on her face. "Yes I would be glad to." Although she respected Mr. Mattock, she hated working in partners because well she had to converse with other people who she may or may not know. Which meant should might or might not get along with them. Belle was quite flexible in the means that she could conform to someone's personality fairly quickly and not have a problem with it. But somtimes there were just those days were she could even stand the thought of acutally trying to strike up a conversation and today, today was one of those days in which it was teetering on the verge. Who knew it could be a crappy where she just bit everyone's head off or it could simply slide back down to the place where she was a dream to work with. Then again who knew... Belle sat beside the girl and faced the boy. Listening intently to what Mr. Mattock was explaining, it seemed obvious that he had a good reason for the partnering up. Copying down the chart in her neatest hand writing for the day, she filled in the
Time: Distance:~20 yards Average Speed: Weight of chair: 28.7lbs Your Weight: 120 lbs Acceleration:
"So who would like to go first and who would like to time first?" In situations like this she had the urge to take over, or at least have some sort of controll over something. Looking at the girl and the boy. Belle had already caught sight of Sara and Cara rolling along. Welp now they're done She thought to herself.

February breathed a sigh of relief when the bell rang indicating her first class at the knew school was over. but now she had to go to math, she wasn't as good at math as she was everything else, though she still averaged A's never any lower then an A- and getting one of those she would start to beat herself up over it. She knew she could get all A+'s and anything under that was unacceptable. She had always been really smart remembering everything she saw and heard. Though it was really music that kept her sane and she was starting to beat herself up over not signing up for a music class, she would just have to do it next semester.
She rushed down the hall toward her second class, cursing under her breath when the bell rang, she could see the room. If only she had been a little faster. Still cursing under her breath she opened the door and walked in, in time to see people rolling by on rolling chairs. She stepped and watched then curiously before walking over to the teacher. "Sorry I'm late, I had a little trouble finding the room. I'm February I'm new." She said, which wasn't exactly a lie. She avoided his eyes as she trembled slightly. The only thing that changed from her first class was that she didn't stutter. She glanced at all the faces of the other students remembering a few of them not by name but just by look.
