Students: 1-Annabelle Archer 2-Bethany Ritchie 3-Carlos Rodriguez 4-Charlie Marrazzo 1-Cortney Smit 2-Lucy Davis 3-Miranda Floren 4-Peter Holden
Just to mix it up a bit, I've done the pairing. You will be working with the person with the same number as yourself. However, I am working on the ONE week rule. This time next week is the latest time that I will be posting as Megs again, if anyone in the above list hasn't posted before then, don't bother. If that happens, I will either turn one of the groups into a triple, or another pair will be created.[/blockquote] Megan Sims walked into her class room, her hair was piled up on top of her hair in a messy bun with what looked like chop-sticks holding it in place, she was dressed in casual pants under a white chef jacket. Leaving her things on her work station, she then walked around the room and placed two pale yellow pieces of paper with that day's recipe typed onto it, she also tapped a sheet of paper onto each pantry door with two names on it. She had allowed the students to pick their workbuddy last class, today she had done the picking though, so the students needed to find the kitchen with their name on it, it didn't matter if they knew the person they were working with or not. Orange Chicken Stir-fry Prep Time: 35 minutes Cook Time: 7 minutes Total Time: 42 minutes
[li]8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1 inch cubes [/li][li]2 Cups mixed vegetables[/li][/ul] [li]2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine [/li][li]1 tablespoon cornstarch[/li][/ul] [li]1/3 cup orange juice [/li][li]2 tablespoons dark soy sauce [/li][li]1 teaspoon sesame oil [/li][li]1 teaspoon brown sugar [/li][li]1/4 teaspoon chile paste [/li][li]1 clove garlic, minced [/li][li]1 slice ginger, minced [/li][li]Oil for stir-frying, as needed[/li][/ul] [li]Place the cubed chicken in a bowl, and add the marinade ingredients. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes. [/li][li]While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce ingredients and the garlic and ginger. [/li][li]Heat the wok and add oil. When oil is ready, add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry until aromatic. [/li][li]Add the chicken and stir-fry until it changes colour. Add vegetables fry for 3 minutes. Push up to the sides of the wok, making a well in the middle. Add the sauce. [/li][li]Combine the sauce and the chicken. Stir-fry for another minute and serve hot.[/li][/ul][/blockquote] She then headed back to her work station, waiting for the first of her students to arrive. She was please with the outcome of the previous class and she couldn't wait for them to get to work with today's. Sure, the recipe included rice wine, but there wasn't enough alcohol in the small bottles to actually be a problem, even if the students tried drinking it from the bottle. The fact that her class had doubled in size made the woman happy, and the fact that there were two male participants made her even happier - she just hoped that they wouldn't mind too much that they would be working with one of their female classmates.

Cortney bounced along the hall as she headed toward creative cooking! Out of all the classes she took, this one had to be her favourite - something she had decided after the completion of the last lesson when she ate a mouthful of the food her and Miranda had created - and she couldn't wait to work with Mir again. "Hey Ms S." She greeted with a grin as she bounced through the door. She then walked over to the station she was working at in the last class, and her eyebrows shot up when she saw two names on the door - neither of them being hers. She shrugged ans walked from station to station until she found a pantry door that had her name on it. "Annabelle Archer..." She read the other name and shrugged, she had no idea who the other girl was, but she was never one to judge a person before she had met them. She placed her recipe folder onto the table before she picked up that day's paper and read through it with her eyebrows raised. It didn't look too hard and she loved the idea of frying up things.

The day was moving slowly but luckily she had creative cooking next. One of her favorite non-horse classes. Quickly dodging the other students who occupied the hallways, Belle found herself rounding the corner and heading towards the classroom door. Entering the room she saw Ms. Sims and another girl of which she had no name for her face. She made her way to the station she had worked at last time, but to her surprise the eighteen year old's name wasn't there. Looking around she spotted it Annabelle Archer, the only other student in there was the same one who was her partner or she guessed as she stood at the same station. Looking back at the list she read the name in her head, Cortney Smit, a slight nod shrug type thing occurred as Belle looked towards her new partner. "Hey, I'm Annabelle, but you can call me Belle." The young girl never did like her given name, although most others adored it and adults called her by it. With her curly blond hair tied back into a loose pony tail she stood waiting for class to start. Scanning over the recipe she nodded, she didn't know what kind of cooking skills Cortney had but she could defiantly do this, with a little help of course.

Charlie walked into her first cooking class. She didn't really know quite what to expect, but she decided it would be best to go and introduce herself to the teacher. She briskly walked up to the station at the front, of which a young women sat behind. "Hello, my name is Charlie Marrazzo. I am sorry for missing the last class. " The teen than gave her a nice smile, before turning around and heading towards one of the stations.
The first station she walked to had her name on a sheet of paper that was taped to the pantry door. As well, there was another name on the paper. Peter Holden, is what it read, and Charlie just assumed that it meant they would be cooking partners. She shrugged as she surveyed her kitchenette, quickly looking over the yellow sheet of paper that had a recipe written on it. The recipe was for Orange Chicken Stir-Fry, of which she had never heard about before, but she was willing to try new things.
Charlie put the recipe down where she had found it, while she gazed around the room. Quickly she became aware, that she wasn't the only one early.
*** Note: Fixed Cara! Thanks for helping me, I am just getting into the swing of things. I promise I will get better! ***

Carlos had made sure to be a little early for the second class, so as to make up for being so late at the first class. He walked through the hallway quickly and slipped inside the classroom, giving the teacher a small nod of greeting. "Hola, la senora Sims." He said softly before glancing around and finally finding his name on one of the pantry lists alongside the name 'Miranda Floren'.
Carlos had remembered what the teacher had said the last lesson and had brought with him a simple black one-inch binder and a blue ink pen to record things down and make small notes if need be. He set the binder on the far corner of the table, out of the way of where he and his partner would be cooking, and pulled one of the recipe's over, flipping it around to read. Carlo was very glad, now, that he'd arrived early, as the recipe was in english and he still had a bit of trouble reading english. He didn't say a word to the other students in the class as he picked the paper up and slowly read through the words printed on the page, strugging to understand some of the meanings.

Peter walked into the room for his cooking class, eager to begin. He hadn't been able to participate last time because of his lateness, and had been sure to get there somewhat early this time. He greeted Ms. Sims quietly, and walked over to one of the stations and read off of the paper on the door. Neither of the names were his, so he quickly circulated through the other stations until he found his own name next to another. Charlie Marrazzo he read, and looked around.
Sure enough, there was another girl in the kitchenette, whom he assumed was Charlie. He walked over to her, reaching his hand out for her to shake, "Hello, my name is Peter Holden, and I believe that we are partners." He smiled at the blonde and turned back to read today's recipe. They'd be making Orange Chicken Stir Fry, which was bound to be delicious. Reading over the rest, he smiled, the recipe was simple enough and he didn't foresee them having any problems with it. It would take a decent amount of time, but not too long, and would make for an interesting class.

Miranda grabbed her backpack from the ground as she got out of her science class. She couldn't wait to get into Creative Cooking, to see what they would be creating today. She had spent the weekend decorating her recipe binder, and now it was covered with pictures of all kinds of animal-shaped creations. As she walked into the classroom, she grinned at the teacher, "Good morning, Ms. Sims." She glanced around the room and saw Cortney, already at a station, with Annabelle. She walked over to her friend's station, "Hi Cortney." Only then did she notice the tags on the pantry doors. With a smile at Cortney, she walked around the room, glancing at the pantry doors until she found the one with her name on it, along with the name 'Carlos Rodriguez'. She smiled at the boy who was already standing at the station, assuming that he was her partner, "Hi! I'm Miranda." She continued smiling as she read over the recipe of the day, deciding that it looked like fun, and didn't seem like it would be too hard.

Megs smiled as the first student bounded into the room. She remained silent as she watched the girl move from station to station until she found her own name. She then smiled as the second student entered and joined Cortney.
Once she had almost all of the class, and the tardy bell had sounded, she walked over and closed the classroom door before walking back to her own workspace and turned to face the three groups. "Welcome to class, I can see I did a pretty good job of picking the partners." She held up a sheet of yellow paper, the one with the recipe on it. "As you can see, we are doing a Stir-fry today. Carlos, if you are having any trouble, just ask Miranda. I will give you a copy of the recipe translated into Spanish for you next week and all of your recipes will be in Spanish from then on." She didn't mean to single him out like that, but she knew that she needed to do it.
"Once again, everything you need is in the pantry and fridge. Please follow the recipe as closely as possible, but whatever vegetables you want to use is up to you. You can split the jobs however you want, though I would suggest that one of you cuts the chicken and the other makes the sauce." She placed the paper down on her work bench again. "Right,as soon as you've washed your hands, and aproned up, you can get started. I'm here if you have any questions."

While she was waiting for anyone else to show up, which didn't end up being that long, the girl pumped some hand sanitizer onto her hands, rubbed them together and took one of the black aprons off the hook on the side of the pantry and put it over her head.
She jumped as there was a girl standing there when she had the strap over her head and pulled the fabric down. "Hey Belle." She replied with a huge smile as she tied the string into a neat bow behind her back. "I'm Cortney, but please call me Cort." She walked back up to the bench and sanitized her hands once more before she read through the recipe again as she waited for class to start.
She tuned into what the teacher was saying, nodding her head to the woman's words. When told they could start, she grinned at Belle. "If it's alright with you, I'll throw the sauce together and you can do the chicken." It was a statement, not a question. Cortney's polite way of taking charge of the situation. "Then when you combine the meat and marinade, I could put a pot on and we could boil some water and cook rice to go with the chicken and vegetables?" That part was a question. She loved that this class was so relaxed about what they did as long as they pretty much followed the recipe.
With the paper in hand, she walked to the pantry and pulled out the items she needed to make the sauce and took them back to the bench - working on the far side so that Annabelle had room for cutting up the chicken. She took a large glass bowl from the drawer under the bench-top elements. "What vegetables should we cut up?" She asked as she began to combine the ingredients to make the sauce.
Taking a saucer out of another drawer, she minced the garlic and and ginger onto that and covered them with another saucer and placed it into the fridge to keep them fresh while they waited for the chicken to marinate.
Removing a large pot from the cupboard under the bench they were working on, she half filled it with water and put it onto the back element so that it could start heating. "Did you do much cooking before coming to school here?"
