Gabriel shivered in the cold, crossing his arms to hold in the warmth that seemed intent on escaping the thin black jacket he'd put on over his dark blue t-shirt. He'd forgotten that Autumn mornings were usually cool enough to warrant sleeves, at least for the first few hours before sunrise... and it was before sunrise.
Actually, it was about five-thirty in the morning. Normally, Gabri would be at his 'home' at the academy, warm and asleep in his bed with his dog curled up at the foot of said bed... not planning on waking for another hour... but not on this morning.
He leveled a withering look at said dog, sitting innocently on the ground. "Yeah, you just keep looking like that, Jakk. You're the reason we're out here... wanting to go for a run at this time of morning..." His voice trailed off as the dog in question jumped up, propping forelegs on the knee of Gabriel's dark-wash jeans and yipping sharply. "Shush... I don't even know if we're allowed to be out here this late!"
His grumbling was good natured, though, and even though he looked annoyed, it was obvious by his tone of voice that he wasnt really upset. He was just being himself, afterall, anyone being forced to wake up at five in the morning because their dog wanted to go for a stroll wouldbe justifiably annoyed.
"Lucky you, you've got fur. Yu're probably nice and warm while I'm cold. Come on, Jakk... Let's run." Gabriel sighed and tugged on the leash, setting off as a fast walk that quickly evolved into a quick jog, the little dog, a Jack Russel Terrier, running energetically to keep up and showing no signs of slowing anytime soon.

Nikki sat up in her bed as Owl's snout hit her arm, and then turning her head she saw Dayna at the turn her head tilted up; telling Nikki she had to go.
Nikki had taught the dogs to be nice and obidient, that had included quiet, exspecially in the apartments; at the academy. Nikki got up out of bed, stretching out her back as she made her way to the closet. Picking up a pair of sweatpants, she slipped them on, then with a casual purple top to go along, and a black hoodie.
Walking out of the closet, she let her loose waves curl around her body, and form around her neck and chest. Come here, Nikki called to the two Siberians, who walked over together, but as they neared Dayna growled and snipped at Owl; showing whos alpha.
Placing both of their leashes on, she walked out of the dorm, trudging along behind the big Huskys, that ran outside the apartment door, and walked outside beside Nikki.
As she made her way to the reserve, Owl stopped first to go to the bathroom, while Dayna was sniffing along the ground. As Dayna perked her head up, while whining, Nikki shifted. It was five fourty or so, and no one should be out without an allaby, so who would be out here?
Dayna seemed uneasy, and scared as a jingling sound approachhed them, Nikki saw a dark figure, and then shiftted to his legs, she saw another dog. Relieved, Nikki returned to her business in watched her dogs.

His jog evolved into a brisk run along the way, and he cracked a small grin as he watched the Terrier's white legs become a blur as the canine attempted to keep up. Jakk did well for a while, but soon began slowing from the fast pace, and Gabe moved back down to a slow jog again, letting the dog slow back down to a fast trot. Jakk ran alongside him, occasionally trying to jump up and yipping every now and then when he deemed his owner not paying sufficient attention to him. The little dog wore a dark blue harness with a matching leash, as Gabe didn't like him to pull against a collar and choke himself, he got so energetic at times. Luckily, this wasn't one of those times.
Well, it hadn't been… Gabe tugged the leash slightly as Jakk bounded forwards with a burst of energy, short tail wagging a mile a minute. The tug did nothing for the dog's attention, and Gabe found himself looking up to see what his little monster had spotted. He first saw the woman, then noticed she had two dogs with her. Big dogs. Dogs that would eat Jakk alive if they weren't nice. Gabriel slowed to a walk, tugging his canine down as well, though Jakk strained forwards, eager to approach the unfamiliar dogs.
Gabriel refused to let him, and instead gave the woman a smile and nod, glad that he wasn't the only one out. "So… it's not illegal to be out here this late… err, early… in the morning, I take it?" He spoke, breaking the silence.

Nikki watched as a guy, about her age by his voice, and his look. Nikki smiled at the smaller dog; Jack Russel it seemed. He was in a nice little harness, and Nikki liked the idea of that, cute.
They both seemed out of breath, as the younger dog still seemed ready to go though. Wagging his tail at a million miles an hour, Nikki talked down to Owl, and Dayna. Sit, Owl. Duduk, Dayna. Nikki said, watching as the two Husky's sat down at her feet.
Hearing the guys response, she realized for one, that he seemed to be restricting his dogs ability to get close to them. She got that, but really they seemed pretty controlled; she could drop the leash's if she really wanted too.
Ha, your dog wake you up to? I'm Nikki, you don't have to restrict him like that, they won't hurt him. she said looking back at the two Siberians who cocked their heads. Owl whined a bit, but Dayna sat perfectly. She seemed to find it weird that one of them spoke English; but the other a diffrent language, Icelandic, in which they had come from the same home. It didn't line up to her.

An eyebrow rose as he heard her speak to her dogs. To one, it sounded like she'd spoken another language… but Gabe wasn't sure. He didn't speak anything besides English, and wasn't an expert on other languages. In fact, he could only say 'bye' in Japanese and knew 'yes' and 'no' in Russian due to friends in college.
"Yes, he woke me up a little while ago." He replied easily with a friendly smile. It looked like she was his age, or very close, and he felt immediately at ease, "Are you sure they won't…" Gabe trailed off, letting the leash slide through his hand. Immediately Jakk rushed forwards as much as it allowed him, coming close to the larger dogs with no caution or hesitation at all. The little dog wanted to immediately play, and bounced forwards, going down with his rear end stuck in the air in the playful stance that all little dogs and big dogs alike had. Short, sharp yips came from his vocals as he attempted to entice the larger dogs to play.
Gabe looked amused, but didn't pull his mutt back, deciding to let the small animal make a cute fool of himself. "I'm Gabriel."

Seeing the eyebrow look; that the man gave her, Nikki replied with a casual saying. One of my dogs speaks a diffrent language; so I get to say everything twice! Yay for me. she told him with a sarcastic smile and tone.
Hearing his response, Nikki then listened again as he added in. She watched the smaller dog rush towards the two larger dogs. As usual, Owl wagged his tail; wanting to play and being in training still, not knowing better. Her other Husky stood still like a good girl, and didn't move an inch. Smiling at the three, she then turned and met another statement. Ha, your not the only one. Five seems to be a nice time to wake up now adays. They won't do a thing; there perfectly trained, or are almost to it.
Then watching as Owl stood up to now sniff the dog himself, Nikki introduced herself; after Gabriel did himself. Nice to meet you. I'm Nikki, and this is Owl and Dayna. Nikki told him. She wondered if he rode; or if he had a diffrent job than that. She thought of asking, but didn't know if he perferred to leave.

"I wasn't aware that dogs could speak anything other than 'dog'." He said with a slow smile, catching onto her sarcasm and replying to it. His eyes tracked Jakk's movements towards the larger dogs and a small grin appeared upon seeing one of the dogs respond, but the other, obviously better trained, not move. "Niiice..." He said lightly, "That's some training. Jakky-boy here doesn't respond to anything unless he feels like it."
Gabriel had to laugh slightly upon hearing her admission of getting up at five, noding in slight agreement. "Yeah, well... at least it's not four or earlier. I can handle getting up at five every now and then." He glanced upwards, where the sun was beginning to peak out, telling him that it was now past six. "Oh great! Sun's rising! Maybe it'll get a little warmer now."
On the ground, Jak yipped sharply at the other two dogs, trying his best to entice at least one of the two into a game. The little dog tugged at his leash, trying to worm his way closer, though Gabriel held onto the leash and kept him back some still. "His name's Jakk, by the way... not Jakky-boy... don't mind him. Usually, if you ignore him, he'll quit." He said with a grin, showing that he was just joking.

Nikki was fascinated by the small Jack Russel. He seemed so energetic and fun to be around; although she perferred big dogs, this one little dog could change her mind entirely. Hearing the response from Gabriel; Nikki smiled back at him. Dayna must be special then. she said, her gaze following to the Husky.
As the man also complimented the training of Dayna, Nikki listened. I'm sure he'll get it one day, but it depends on the dog your dealing with. If you need help anytime; I'd be up for it. Nikki told him; not knowing where else she could follow up with this.
Nodding at his other sayings and speakings into the silence that filled them, Owl seemed to be having fun now with the smaller dog. Laying down on his back; Owl allowed the smaller dog to sniff his face; and do whatever he pleased. As Dayna seemed less interested, she sat next to Nikki; not caring about the two other dogs.
I'm sure he will quit. He's a Jack Russell, correct? Adorable one thats for sure. Nikki complimented him; bending down to scratch the dog behind his ear. Standing back up, with a roll from the eyes from Dayna it seemed; Nikki pat her as well. As for Owl and Dayna. Well..Owl will do anything he pleases; as Dayna's a little more laid back, and calmer. Nikki told him. Starting to wander if he rode here; or just had a job, Nikki would figure that he would have to, otherwise why would he be here?[/center]

Jakk was having the time of his life, playing with the larger dog. The Jack Russell didn't seem to know, or he just didn't care, that the larger dog could easily bite him in two, for he grabbed the back leg of the Husky in his mouth and shook his lead like he were trying to kill a snake, growling fiercely... or, well, what he thought was fiercly. In reality, it was just cute, and his own had to bite back a laugh at the little dog's enthusiasm.
"Yeah, he's a Jack Russel Terrier." He nodded, telling her that she'd gotten his breed right. It wasn't that hard to do, as Jack Russell's had a certain 'look' about them and he was extremely typical of his breed. "Thanks. He's so small, though... I don't think he needs much training. He walks on a leash. That's about all I really need." Gabe said, grinning down at the two playful dogs before glancing to the one that sat still. He could definately tell she was trained well and half wished that Jakk listened like that, but then he dismissed the thought. If his dog was trained that well, he wouldn't be Jakk.

Seeing the smaller dog bit the larger dog's leg; Nikki bit her lip, and watched as Owl eyed him curiously, but then looked forward and continued to stare, seeing something in the grass. Go ahead, boy. Nikki said to him; unlatching the leash, and allowing the Husky to take off; chasing a brown rabbit.
Although Owl didn't mind about, Jakk, Dayna did; letting out a low rumble, but not being so sneaky that Nikki couldn't hear her; herself. Dayna tidak. Menghentikannya sekarang. Nikki said to her dog; as the Husky stopped immediatley.
Looking up to Gabriel, she quickly explained; and answered to his past reply. Ok, I understand. I thought I was right about his breed; but there easy to tell from other breeds, not to hard with there colors and size. Also before you think I'm crazy insane; I speak Indonesian, which is what Dayna translates from. I have no idea how she got that language; but she's been "speaking" it ever since. Nikki told him. Then realizing that she had told him something like that already, Nikki slapped her hand against her forehead.
Sorry I know I already told you that; I forgot.

"They're Huskies, right?" Gabe asked, just to be sure he was right. He wasn't sure if she'd told him their breed already or not, and his hand tightened on Jakk's leash as the other dog, the female, growled. The man pulled the little dog back a bit, though he needn't have, as Nikki quieted the Husky down with just a few words before explaining to him again that the dog spoke a different language. Gabriel couldn't help but laugh slightly as she remembered that he already knew and turned to watch the male Husky chase after the lone rabbit that had appeared as the rising sun peeked upwards a little more, promising a fairly nice day ahead of them.
"You're not worried he'll run off? Jakk's done so several times… He doesn't get off his leash much when we go for walks anymore. As a puppy I could keep up with him, but now, he's got more energy than I do!" Gabe laughed, slapping a hand against his leg and catching the dog when Jakk leapt upwards, holding him and ruffling his fur slightly. The dog growled playfully and grabbed Gabe's hand, not biting hard, but playing, causing Gabriel to laugh slightly at his antics.

Hearing Gabriel ask a question, Nikki nodded. There Siberians; I'm lucky that they even got let in themselves. Promising no trouble would be made; is a lot of work. she said jokingly. Unleashing Dayna as well, Nikki watched as the dog stood up and ruffled her fur out,a few hairs flying in the air. She huffed and went to lie down in the grass.
Noticing the pull on the smaller dog as Dayna had growled, Nikki hadn't mind, it wasn't the best when a bigger dog growled at your smaller dog. Hearing a laugh excape Gabriel's mouth, Nikki then chuckled with him. Want to sit? We look ackward just standing here. Nikki told him; looking around.
Nah, he'll be fine. Owl's a smart one, and he comes back whatever I do, if I walked back to the barn; he'd find me. Nikki said, whistling; the simple loud two finger trick, her grandfather had taught her.
Seeing the black and white Husky come trotting up the rolling hill; grass stains all over his white places in the coat of his, with many strands of grass in as well. Nikki smiled as he came and layed down and placed his head on her shoes. Seems your dogs trained to do a few things. Nikki told him; seeing the trick performed.

"I can imagine, though I'dbe willing to bet that Jakk's more trouble than the both of them put together." Gabe laughed, nodding to her suggestion of sitting down. He glanced around and spotted a park bench and headed towards it after a fw moment, motioning to it as well. "There's a good place." Gabriel kept ahold of Jakk, though, and settled o the end of the bench, setting Jakk down beside him and commenced to wrestling with him, shoving his head sideways and ocassionally leting the akk Russell catch his hand between his teeth, as the dog wasn't being mean or really fighting with him, though the growns that emitted from the dog were quite... cutely fierce.
"Grr!" Gabe laughed while doing his best imitation of a growl back at Jakk, causing the dog's tail to wag side to side wildly, becoing almost a blur of white. Jakk was enjoying the attention from his owner, though he got it quite often, and jumped on Gabe's hand, biting the fingers and growling playfully.
"I guess he's trained to do a few things, but I'd rather think he's trained me." Gabe answered while still playing with the small animal, though he did look up and smirked as her dog came back with grass stains.

Laughing at Gabe's response to Jakk's troublesome ways, she commented, I bet, he seems so energetic and playful. Owl can be like that, but Dayna doesn't interact very well at times. she said back to him.
Walking towards the bench with Gabriel, Nikki sat down along with him; with Dayna trotting over and Owl playfully sniffing around. He looked so intrested in what was going on around him. Trying to bite Dayna's tail in the process, she turned in a quick circle and snipped at him.
Leaving them to go, Nikki knew that Dayna would put own in his rightful place, and that it was instinct as she was alpha...for now. Seeing Gabriel letting his small dog play a game of wrestle with his hand and fingers, Nikki smiled as she watched them play together.
Nodding at his own comment, Nikki rubbed Owl's ears back and forth, playing with the fur in and outside and around his neck and face. Touching his long snout, Nikki then went to the flat part of the skull ands stroked it. Bringing up some conversation, Nikki asked, So do you teach here, or instruct?

Gabe listened intently as she spoke about her dogs, chancing a glance up at the morning sky once more. He knew that he, at least, would have to get back to the academy before the school day started, as he was a counselor and was needed up there in case any teachers had a troublesome student or any stuents just wanted to talk to him. He pulled his cell out of his pocket after setting Jakk in his lap and glanced at the time. He still had half an hour before he had to head back.
"Neither." He said with a grin as he answered her question a bit confusedly, for her, at least. "I'm a counselor at the academy, but I do ride as well." He elaborated, giving her a grin. His hand went to rest on Jakks back, feeling the soft fur of the small dog as he scratched the small animal's back. Jakk, enjoying the movements, wriggled this way and that so that his owner (coughslavecough) could get to the real itchy parts, the way he moved made Gabe grin in delight and he scratched the dog harder, chuckling at Jakk's actions as he did so.
