In My Little Nook

Sam glanced over at her roommate who was getting annoyed at Sam’s constant catering. She sighed quietly and collected a pile of Steelers clothes and retreated to the shower. Quickly she got in and out, dressing herself to look like an absolute bum. All she meant to do was get out and give Keri some space so Sam didn’t end up murdered in her sleep. Dragging herself to her stash of hair and makeup supplies, Sam threw her hair up in a quick and messy bun, and added a very minuscule layer of makeup to her face. She made her way to her bed where her Nook and phone sat on the bedside table. ”Alright, I’m heading out.” She offered a weak smile and left her roommate in peace.

She trudged along, offering rebuttaled comments to those who dared to scorn her Steelers. Yes, they ended with an 8-8 season, but as a true fan Sam was proud to walk around in her Steelers clothes. Only when she reached the library did the comments stop flowing. Sam huffed as she walked in but smiled at the librarian at the front desk then made her way over to an open table towards the back. With her phone turned all the way down Sam turned on her Nook touch on and began reading The Two Towers by J. R. R. Tolkien. While reading she considered resting her feet on the table, but figured that the librarian would find her in a matter of seconds.
