The longer she had been at Blue Ridge, the more Cortney was beginning to discover who she really was. She still loved singing, but she wasn't missing the church group she used to sing with as much as she had a couple of months ago.
She bounced down the hallway of the second floor of Yellow House, she loved the Halloween decorations that had been put up around the place. She turned around with a jump and came face to face with her own door. As she put the key into her lock, her eyes browsed over the dry erase board that was on her door - something she changed to match the season or occasion. Her Halloween board was a witch stirring her magic cauldron, with the words "Tis Haloween and in this brew. The witch will stir good luck for you." with a marker attached to the side of the board. A smile flickered over her face at the messages that had been left for her. She was far from popular, but enough of the girls - both residents and visitors- had left friendly and tasteful messages.
Turning the key, she pushed the door open and grinned at the vibrantly decorated room. There were cobwebs hung from each corner, with bats and spiders hanging from the ceiling. In the corner sat a black cat with glowing golden eyes. The windows had Halloween clings, the main one being a large glittery spider's web.
Walking over to her closet, she put away the jacket she had been wearing before she flopped down onto her bed before she sat up again and walked over to where her puppy was lying on her bed, watching the girl. "Want to dress up?" She asked the puppy as she picked the Teacup Yorkie/Maltese and carried her over to the bed. Walking over to her drawers she pulled out a box. From that she took a witch costume out for the pup and lay the dress over her back and fastened it around her belly and then fastened the velcro "sleeves" around her front legs. With a smile, she put the hat onto Isa's head and kissed her on the nose. "Spookily beautiful." She told the puppy.
