AliceMaeBrant Alice took a deep breath as she walked through the door to her house. Looking around she took every thing in the furniture, the color of the walls, the way it smelled, everything. It took her a moment to realized she was blocking the door way like a idiot. So she grabbed her stuff and shuffling her weight and moved over to the side. Help. The next thing on her mind was help. So she reached down to search her jean pockets for the yellow paper she has stuffed in there when getting out of her parents car. Finding it very folded she began to play with it in her figures trying to make it more readable. 'Yellow House' was the first thing scribbled on it. But thanks to staring at her papers she received in the mail. Alice had already memorized that. Looking down the next thing read 'Lila'. Yes of course Lila she needed to ditch her stuff and find the stables. Poor Lila would need a brushing and quick ride to loosen her muscles. In a desperate hope to find someone she could ask for direction Alice searched the room. This would have been way easier if she was at home with Kara. Sighing she stuffed the paper back in her pocket and stood beside the door way like an idiot.

Luka smiled as he finished the last of his homework and laid the fountain pen he was using down carefully. He looked over the glistening letters of the math work, checking everything one last time to make sure that he hadn't made some simple adding mistake, which he knew he had a high probability of doing. He saw nothing wrong, though, and so left the paper to dry in the room as he stood up and stretched. Jethro glanced up from the bed where Luka had known the cat to be sleeping, and gave a rather loud meow. Smiling, the boy walked over and picked up the cat, draping the blue, furry animal over his shoulder.
Glancing around to make sure everything was back in its place, except for the still-drying worksheet on the desk, and the pen next to it, Luka wondered what to do next. He decided to grab a book and spend some time in the common room, which had rather comfortable couches. As he walked into the common room, he saw a girl who looked rather lost. Tossing the book onto 'his' spot, and carefully moving Jethro to the same spot, he looked over to her, "Hello."

AliceMaeBrant Alice starred out the window near her. Lost in a day dream. Hearing the sound of someone walking into the room she looked over. Watching the boy who seemed to be around her age come in. Carrying a couple items in his arms, one appeared to be a cat. Trying not to stare Alice began to look out the window at the landscape before her. Hearing his voice made her jump a little and turn towards him. Reply she thought. But it took her a moment to find her voice. " Hi... Um could you point me towards the barn please." Realizing after how she hadn't even introduced herself to the boy. Made her feel kinda bad. Since he had been nice enough to say hi to her first. " Sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Alice, Alice Brant. I'm just looking for my horse, and well I never got a map or a tour of the school. I'm not saying I wont since I have only been here..." Quickly glancing down at her watch she figured out how long she had been here. " For i don't know a couple hours... I'm kinda lost." Becoming quieter near the end of her sentence. Alice realized she was rambling on like a lunatic. Quickly shifted her weight due to her nerves. " I'm sorry, I'm not normally this talk talkative, I swear.' Alice looked up because somehow during all that talking she had lost eye contact and began to stare at the floor.

As the girl asked for directions to the barn, Luka's mouth twitched into a half-smile, "Which one of the four would you be looking for?" While half of the question was nonsense, since students couldn't own stallions, nor would anyone want to bring a broodmare to the school, but the other two were equally likely to hold this girl's horse.
He listened quietly as she rushed into an introduction, nodding slightly as she told him that she hadn't gotten a map of the campus. As she stopped talking, Luka paused a moment, considering, then mildly replied, "I'm Luka, anyway. It's a pleasure to meet you, Alice." He glanced at where Jethro had jumped off of the couch and was padding towards them. While he didn't want to leave the cat here, he could carry him around campus easily enough. Deciding to do the right thing, Luka looked back at the girl, "Would you like me to show you around a little bit? I've only been here for a month and a little bit, but I daresay I know most of the official places you would need to know to get around your first few days."

AliceMaeBrant Alice took a very deep breath, gathered her self together before thinking or replying next. " Well my mare is in the first barn which holds horses with the letter 'A'." Alice remember the paper the lady at the counter had given her quickly pulled it from her back pocket. " So the white barn, I guess?" Hearing the boy offer to show her around made her feel better about the whole thing. She had effusively not scared him to much with her small ramble. " I would love it if you could show me around..." Noticing that Luke had brought a cat with him, and it was now coming there direction made Alice pause for a second. " As long as that's not to much trouble for you." Her attention now fully on the feline near them. Crouching down Alice reached on of her arm towards the kitty keeping her fingers dangling downwards and the back of her hand towards the sky. She liked cats never thought of getting one, her self but she liked them. " Hi kitty kitty... And who might this be?" Alice asked softly trying not scare the feline, and realizing calling someones pet a different name could come across as rude.

Luka nodded as the girl explained, "White Oak, actually." Since the tree-name at the end of the name specified that it wasn't the White Ribbon house, he didn't add on the word 'barn'. What else had they been talking about, anyway?
As she accepted his offer of a look around, he smiled, just slightly, "It's no problem, I was just going to read for a bit anyway." He glanced at the book, Zeitalter Der Fuenf: Priester, which his mother had just recently sent for him to try, "The book can wait, though. It's not going to run away." He watched as the girl crouched down and tried to call the weegie to her, grinning as the cat crouched, then jumped at the girl's hand, 'catching' it neatly. At her question, Luka picked up the cat before he got to rough, cradling him in his arms, "Sein name ist Jethro." He frowned and waved his mistake away, "His name is Jethro." The name, from his favorite TV show, came out sounding like 'Jet-ro', because of the digraph in the middle that Luka, like many Germans, continued to have trouble with, lending a distinct accent to him.

AliceMaeBrant Alice smiled at the cat, as he tried to get her hand. Pulling it back she began to stand up. "Well he is very handsome. Aren't you Jethor?" She asked him, even though she knew the cat couldn't speak back to her. Alice turned to Luka, happy to have found someone willing to help her and maybe even to be a friend in the future. She leaned towards her bag and picked it up. Putting the shoulder strap over her head like a purse. She fixed the black and pink clothes bag till she was happy with where it sat against her hip bone. Before picking up the navy blue riding bag. The bag had to wheel on one side making it way easier for Alice to drag behind her. The navy blue bag was filled with Lila's treats, a few other things that could stay in the barn after today and Alice's riding gear. Before turning back towards him. " Well then if your OK with not reading I will let you lead the way Luka. " She moved her arm in a guiding motion towards the door. Before taking a step side ways and out of Luka's path to the door.

Luka smiled down at the cat, "Thank you." He watched the girl pick up all of her bags, waiting for her to indicate that she was ready. He couldn't understand why in the world girls needed so much stuff. He had seen it with his own sister, girls just naturally seemed to need more clothes than a normal guy. Perhaps it was hard-wired into their brain, or maybe it was just that they weren't happy with always being the same person, which was why they tried to hard to have so many different outfits. Leaving the matter in the recesses of his brain, never to be spoken aloud, Luka looked back up at the girl, who seemed to be ready. Nodding as she voiced that fact, proving his guess true, he walked towards the door, and out into the weak, wintery sunlight. As he walked, he shifted Jethro to a position on his shoulder, which the cat relaxed into until he lay like a loose towel, totally relaxed and loose. The path to the barn wasn't a long one, and Luka took his time walking along it, respectful of the bags that the girl he was accompanying. As the first barn came into sight, Luka nodded at it, "There's your barn, in which your horse is probably stabled." He had never been in the White Oak barn for horse reasons, since both of his horses had spaces in the Red Willow barn, but he had been inside on a few occasions to meet with the Equestrian team coach, Ms. Carr, who also was the barn manager here. He looked at the girl, "What kind of horse are we looking for? Her stall number would correspond with the tack locker you've been assigned to, in the tack room."

AliceMaeBrant Alice followed behind. Careful where she placed her foot, not wanting to fall with her stuff. It would be bad enough to fall with it. But it would be worse if she fell while walking with someone else. When Luka spoke her focus left her feet and went on what he was asking her . " Oh umm I don't know her stall number " Alice admitted shyly. " I was just planning on walking the stable hall until I found her in her stall. " Alice realized that wasn't the greatest plan in the world but it would have to do. " Her name is Lila but I think they keep them under their registered names so... she would be under Afire Dancer. She's a bay mare slim and kind of tall, nothing really out of the ordinary in looks." Alice had to smile at that yes the mare looked like a lot of horses out there. But it's not the looks you fall in love with its the personality . The mare had a huge heart and was smart, and since she had belonged to Alice since birth Alice had never thought of getting rid of her, even on her worse days. " Oh she does have a star on her forehead too!" Alice chirped in as they got closer to the barn. ooc: Do you want to start a new thread in the White oak barn or no?
