Personality>> Chase is a fun guy, usually outgoing and friendly he is the type of person who makes friends with everyone. He loves a good time and a good laugh, he plays the tough guy card and isn’t one to open up around individuals. Once he knows you on a better level he might let you in on a few of his secrets, like the fact that Marley and Me makes him cry every time he watches it. He might be made fun of for not acting his age, or thinking that fart sounds are funny – but that’s just who he is. Take him or leave him, he could care less. He loves a good joke and a beer with some friends is one of his favorite pass times. Not really into sports besides riding he is a manly man, but just dresses well and cares a lot about his hair – don’t mess with it. He is usually friends with everyone he meets, though he is a very good judge of character.
Chase isn’t mentally ready for a serious relationship; at 27 he can fairly say he isn’t ready for a family. He can be a bit of a stickler when it comes to his students, he gets loud when coaching and is a fan of perfection. As a rider he is the quiet simple minded type, despite being a guy he doesn’t like to muscle horses into things he is very soft with his hand and leg – his horses are reactive as a result. When he gets mad he likes to distance himself because he isn’t above saying things he will regret, he won’t hold a grudge but isn’t going to forgive a mistake instantly, especially if you hurt him. Chase is pretty great to have as a friend, he likes to push the boundaries and has no concept of personal space – he is totally the guy who picks people up when he hugs them. He is capable of being professional when needed though; he’s not a total idiot all the time.
Likes>> Dogs, horses, riding, dressage, fog, car rides, music, coffee, beer, women, friends, laughter, chicken wings, running, movies, storms, sea food.
Dislikes>> Cats, spinach, tea, bad schooling on horses, cows, red meat, rap music, knock off anything, lying, crying, mud.
Fears>> Being unhappy in life, regretting things, having a whole bunch of “what if’s” down the road, following the same path his father did.
Hopes>> To ride at the Olympic level one day, to have a family, to have a son
Secrets>> The movie Marley and Me makes him cry without fail, how he really feels about his dad – the fact that he loves and respects him a great more than he let on.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Chase is a tall individual, standing 6ft2 and weighing around 195lbs – to say he is in good shape is an understatement. It doesn’t come naturally, well not his physical shape in regards to muscle tone – he works out daily for those. He is a firm believer in being in good shape in order to ride, the better shape he is in the better he can help his horses. As for his genetics he got pretty lucky too, he has a handsome face with brown hair that will fade out lighter in the summer and warm brown eyes. Chase keeps his hair pretty short, and likes it to have that tossed messy look. He also gets lazy in regards to shaving and usually has some stubble going on, he likes his face that way. The man isn’t vain but he believes in looking good.
He is usually dressed quite cleanly, fitted jeans and shirts when he is at the barn he keeps things very professional too. A firm believe in physical appearance being impacting he does pay attention to what he wears at all times, whether he is grabbing a bear with some friends or walking to get the newspaper Chase is looking his very best –okay, maybe he’s a little vain – no “metro”
Markings>>He has two tattoos, an old naval cannon on his left arm by his wrist/forearm, the other is on the underside of his left wrist, it’s a hand written message “Know Thyself”
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Chase had the typical chicken pox at a young age, he had his tonsil taken out when he was nine and then his appendix out when he was 16. Besides that he has been very lucky, he played on the high school basketball team and sustained a fractured wrist once and he has jammed his fingers hard a few times but that is pretty much it. He has allergies in the spring, pollen and all that good stuff – but aside from that he is a very healthy individual. He has come off his horses a few times growing up, but just a mild concussion and pulled/torn muscles from those experiences.
Criminal History>> Chase is a good boy, well not really – he just never got caught. Speeding tickets, he has a few of those. No he has a lot of those, he pays them though.
Full History>> Chase is a Canadian, born in Vancouver to a wealthy banker/investor and his young wife. He was an only child, and would stay that way for a while. When he was four his parents got divorced, his father won custody on the account that his mother turned out to be a meth addict – she started shortly after Chase was born, when his father was away. His mother passed away by the time he was six, Chase didn’t really know either parents well. He was raised by a nanny; he loved her dearly and missed her more than his own mother when he was sent to boarding school. He grew up in boarding school, his father visited frequently and while he supported his son and tried to be there he was not the loving kind. When Chase came home for winter vacation in grade seven he was surprised to see that his father had remarried without his knowledge and had a step son, he was a year younger than Chase and seemed to attract Chase’s father’s attention and approval in ways Chase couldn’t. The young boy was peeved at first, though went back to school and focused on his studies, basketball and riding in an attempt to gain his father’s approval and attention.
He graduated with honors, got a scholarship to Yale and a spot on the basketball team. He was riding under Olympian Steffen Peters, he still didn’t get much more than a pat on the back from his father who was now busy with work and couldn’t come watch him graduate. Chase quit uni after he received his bachelors in business, he had intentions of going on to do his masters and then law school but decided riding was where he wanted to be. To say his father was furious was an understatement, Chase didn’t care – he hadn’t seen the man in almost 2 years and talked to him only a handful of times. Chase was riding fulltime for Steffen and competing internationally when he got the call, his father had suffered from a heart attack and as in ICU, Chase flew to the man and when he saw him he couldn’t hold it together. He wanted to mad at the man, but spent the night by his bed.
The man passed away 2 days later, his heart couldn’t recover. Chase was mad and torn apart all in one, he called Steffen and thanked him for the opportunity but told him he couldn’t devote the right energy to riding at the moment. At 26 Chase was left more money than he knew one man could possess, he enlisted in financial help and his father’s right hand man assisted Chase through being set for life. When all was said and done Chase decided he needed to settle somewhere for a little, he heard about the position at Blue Ridge through a friend and applied.
We found love in a hopeless place
Jack>>
Registered Name>> PepperJack
Age>> 2 years
Species>> Canine
Breed>> American Pitbull Terrier
Registry>> UKC
Personality>> Jack is a sweet dog, he always has been. He is low activity and very mellow, does well around kids and animals and would lounge on the couch all day in your lap if he could. He would be the worst guard dog ever, he has no interest in being aggressive and has never shown any signs of being that way. He can be nervous around large packs of dogs but usually just results to submitting and staying close to his person. He is generally a confident dog who likes to explore but will frequently check back to Chase for reassurance if he isn't sure, he does like to play but doesn't initiate it himself very often. He sleeps with Chase and hogs the bed, he will also steal food off the counter if it's left in too plain of sight. For a lazy dog he sure likes to dig, and loves the water, he also loves the horses but Chase keeps him away due to school rules.
History>> Jack was bred in the states, a friend of Chases actually had a litter and tried to convince the man he needed a dog. Timing couldn't have been worse and even though Chase wanted a puppy he couldn't logically say yes at the time, so instead the breeder kept the pup. He figured he would offer him to chase when the man settled into his life a little more. For that reason Jack has been so well socialized to children, cats, other dogs and all kinds of crazy things. His breeders laid back demeanor and calm confident but submissive dogs made for a good environment to mature in. A year later Chase contacted his friend about a puppy and was pleased to know that Jack was around and doing well, he purchased the dog and their friendship began. The pair bonded instantly, and Chase thinks this dog is one of the best things he ever did - he is right up there with Calvin and Donny in the man's heart. He sent him back to his friends when he moved to Blue Ridge just 2 weeks well he settled in, the dog will join him shortly.
