Personality:
The gelding is a dream to work with, he tries hard - most of the time and is very dependable. He rarely misses a beat under saddle and is a pretty honest ride, he likes her earplugs and requires a strong leg and extra soft hand. He can be very touchy in the face but as long as you keep a light steady feel, solid legs and trust him you are golden. Though if you clamp on him or land hard on his back he isn't above letting you know - he has a decent buck on him and isn't afraid to throw his hind end up in protest. He can come out a little fresh some days too, but his bucks are never mean, just a warning or him being playful. On the ground while he loves human company he is the worlds biggest ham, he will put anything in his mouth, adores granola bars among other human food and cannot handle not being the center of attention. He does know how to maintain his space and yours but he isn't above venturing into your space for a moment to make sure you don't want to join him in his. All in all he is a fun gelding to be around, his nips are playful and he only ever really goes after clothes, he can be amused by a zipper for hours and is Madison's pride and joy.
Dillon is a handsome gelding in a beautiful deep shade of chestnut, he has a blaze and some white on his two hind legs. The gelding is well built, naturally uphill and well bodied. Dillon's lines include Lotus T(sire) and Voltaire(damsire) and he has certainly lived up to those standards. He is a solid gelding, wonderful over fences and on the ground as well. Dill is a fantastic mover with great variation in his stride and has an even more wonderful jump. The gelding is stunning in person and under saddle, he never misses a beat and wears that handsome intelligent look so well. He might be faulted for being slightly thick through his neck, he is a big bodied gelding with good legs but his feet are a little soft. Dill pickle is shod all year round and sometimes wears a pad, even after years on the hunter circuit he has tight and clean legs, they are well looked after of course but he bears no blemishes from his workload.
History:
Dillon was born a champion, raised a champion and sold a champion. He has always been spoiled, and you figure it would make him the difficult type. Well it certainly hasn’t spoiled the gelding in anyway, aside from his adoration for people and attention. Dill Pickle is a rare find, a huge heart, great work ethic and wonderful quality. The gelding is by Lotus T and his dam was a Voltaire bred mare, Dillon was the barns next up and coming, they had only one real regret; gelding him as they didn't think he would size up. He was weaned successful, handled as a weanling and off to show in hand as soon as he could. The gelding won big in hand, they had high hopes for him under saddle once he grew up. Dillon did not disappoint, he was an absolute dream under saddle. A little hot and tense to start but the more the gelding worked the better he got, he was born In California had lots of big wins there as a junior horse as well. At four due to financial problems the horse was sold and moved to Florida, showed HITS with another few big wins in the adult and open ring. Dillon was a trainers horse whose wife liked to show him in the adults, their daughter started riding the gelding as he was a dream to ride and he was on top for quite some time. Though as previous owners had struggled with money it seemed the new ones did too, Dillon was dropped from the trainers horse to a lease horse.
Madison's trainer heard news through the grape vine of a gelding who would be coming up for sale whom had proven himself as performance horse, she was quick to catch the details as she knew Madison's family was willing to spend. She was quick to snatch the horse up for Madison, he was in pasture shape as he had been brought home for a year Madison had papers with Dillon's breeding and performance record there was no way this horse was getting away from her. The price was paid for in full before news of his sale was even made public. Madison has had Dillon for two years now, the gelding came back to show shape with a vengeance.
