Jayne looked out the window of her foster parents' car. She couldn't understand why they had suddenly decided that it was in her best interest to attend a boarding school two hours away from they house where they lived. She hadn't got in trouble with anyone, she was an A grade student and she didn't rebel against the adults. Sure, she wasn't quiet when she felt that her peers were holding something back from her, but she would never demand anything from the adults in the front of the car. After all, why demand anything when you have everything you ever wanted handed to you?
As they pulled up the driveway, her eyes widened at the sight of the horses that were wearing their winter rugs and were grazing on the short grass that they could find under the snow. She had visited the school's website, and knew that equestrian sports were a large part of the school, she just hadn't expected them to be the first thing she saw.
As the car pulled to a stop, she stepped out of the car and looked around. The girl carried a haughty air about herself. She nodded her head when her foster mother suggested that they go inside and she put her hand into that of her foster father, suddenly feeling a little nervous - not that she looked it - and drew in his strength as they walked through the open door and up to the front desk.
