The Quarter Horse can get along with just about any horse that she can, and loves to talk. Her riding levels can range from beginner to advanced. It all depends what the rider needs, if she can feel that the rider is tense and scare she will do everything she needs to give them confidence. Although she usually isn't used as a broodmare, Rayne has a very protective mothering instinct and is known for throwing beautifully colored foals. A downfall to this mare is that she is very nosey and loves to know what's going on. Somehow she developed the habit of nudging at farriers when she is getting shoed and sometimes if being lead around by a stranger she will get a little pushy.
Caution Around: Farriers, Leading Her
The History
Basic History: Rayne was born and raised in the exact same place that he rider was. She and Noah were a duo when she was a newborn and the boy was five. He would help his father feed and care for the dam and her filly. The two formed a strong bond and when Rayne was about three and a half Noah helped his father break her, although it was as if she was already broken. She trusted Noah and he trusted her, that’s how their relationship worked and still does. Noah trained the mare for everyday ranch tasks. Dealing with cattle was her strong point; she had very good cow sense and had no problem predicting the next move of a heifer or her calf. When Noah and his father decided that the schooling system in that part of Kentucky just wasn’t working out for the sixteen year old, Noah took Rayne and himself and moved over to Blue Ridge Riding Academy.
