Wind Whistler The BasicsShow Name: Wind Whistler Barn Name: Whistler Age: 14 years Gender: Gelding Breed: Fell Pony Breed Registry: The Fell Pony Society of North America The AppearanceCoat Color: Dapple Grey Stable Color: Dark Red Height: 13.2 HH The PersonalityPersonality: Whistler is a wonderful pony, who loves all the attention he can get. Along with the normal "defiant pony" act, he will happily go with the flow - when and if he feels like it. When he wants to though, he can throw a fit if he doesn't want to do what is being asked of him. For example: If his rider wants to train in jumping and he wants to have a lazy day. Caution: Can be ridden on the flat by beginners, but needs at least an intermediate rider for jumping. The HistoryBasic History: Whistler has been there and done that. He spent his early years - after harsh training which included rapping- as a top-of-the-line jumping pony. Finally though he decided that he'd had enough and no matter how hard his rider hit him, he began to drop poles repeatedly. He then went from home to home until he found himself at BRRA. Jupiter's Comet The BasicsShow Name: Jupiter's Comet Barn Name: Zeus Age: 8 years Gender: Gelding Breed: Dartmoor Breed Registry: Dartmoor Pony Registry of America The AppearanceCoat Color: Black Stable Color: Fuchsia Height: 11 HH The PersonalityPersonality: He's a talented pony whose only fault is his love of the crowd. He's a bit of a show off, and even though he does mess up from being a handful in the ring occasionally, he is still a beautiful jumper, who responds well to cues and leaps like a pro despite his age. He can be rather dominant and overconfident as well, especially with his rider and other horses. Despite being a pony, Zeus likes to think he's a seventeen hand Shire stallion, and the boss of everyone. Caution: N/A The HistoryBasic History: Bought at an auction, history unknown. Thanh The BasicsShow Name: Thanh Barn Name: Thorn Age: 10 years Gender: Mare Breed: Arabian/Oldenburg Breed Registry: N/A The AppearanceCoat Color: Black Stable Color: Tomato Height: 16.2 HH The PersonalityPersonality: Her temperament is that of most mares; kind, sweet, gentle, until she comes into heat. Her talent is one of the more moderate levels, so she can be handled by a beginner, but it’s not recommended. An intermediate rider is ideal for her, as advanced riders will find her too easy to ride. She’s patient if her rider knows what they’re doing, but if they don’t, she’s likely to act up. Caution: N/A The HistoryBasic History: Bought from a riding school that was going out of business. It is believed that she was bred for the height and jumping ability of an Oldenburg, and the dished, elegant features and endurance of an Arabian, a goal which was achieved. It is unknown why her breeders gave her up. The TechnicalitiesDiscipline: Show Jumping Owner: BRRA Assigned Student:

Taking A Dare The BasicsShow Name: Taking A Dare Barn Name: Daredevil Age: 10 years Gender: Mare Breed: Trakehner Breed Registry: American Trakehner Association The AppearanceCoat Color: Bay Stable Color: Coral Height: 17.2 HH The PersonalityPersonality: The pretty mare is obviously a jumping horse, and is an excellent jumper at that. She’s friendly and a bit hyper, ready to work at whatever time you choose. Daredevil is a horse for beginner riders, since she’s more of a friendly and gentle creature, and the Intermediate and the advanced jumps are a bit dangerous for her, as she tends to rush them and nick her forelegs or hind legs. Her temperament is, as said, completely trusting and totally willing, so she’s a responsive and diligent mount. Caution: N/A The HistoryBasic History: Bought at an auction, brought to Blue Ridge as a school horse. The TechnicalitiesDiscipline: Show Jumping Owner: BRRA Assigned Student: Ryan Gallahill

Faerie Realm The BasicsShow Name: Faerie Realm Barn Name: Titania Age: 5 years Gender: Mare Breed: Gypsy Vaneer Breed Registry: Gypsy Horse Registry of America The AppearanceCoat Color: Skewbald Stable Color: Salmon Height: 15.2 The PersonalityPersonality: Even at her young age, Titania is a very well trained show horse. She excels in jumping (hunter, show and stadium) and dressage, but has no trouble covering a cross country course as well. As all mares, she can be a touch temperamental at times, but other than that has a lovely nature. Caution: Suggested as a mount for advanced-intermediate to advanced riders as she is young and flighty. The HistoryBasic History: Aishe purchased the Vanner as a foal. She missed her own roots and needed to feel close to her people again so she found a small gangly filly in an auction and fell in love instantly. Every inch of the filly's training was done by the gypsy herself, done in the traditional Romany way - completely bareback until the filly could follow any instruction with the slightest of aids. Due to her hectic schedule, Aishe donated her as a school mount The TechnicalitiesDiscipline: Hunter/Jumper, Show Jumping, Stadium Jumping, Dressage, Cross Country Owner: Aishe Tigani Assigned Student:

Silver Fire The BasicsShow Name: Silver Fire Barn Name: Ember Age: 6 years Gender: Mare Breed: Welsh/Thoroughbred Breed Registry: N/A The AppearanceCoat Color: Silver Dun Stable Color: Orange Red Height: 14.1 HH The PersonalityPersonality: Ember is a typical mare, she's stubborn and moody. On the ground she is pushy seems to have no manners at all. In the saddle, she is flighty and can seem unresponsive to any aids, if you touch her with a crop you will find yourself on the ground and don't even think about trying to mount again (she's not scared of them so her rider can carry one, she just doesn't like being reprimanded). However, Ember does have her good days and on those days all her professional training comes out and she's the perfect mount. No matter what she's like toward her rider, she doesn't kick out or nip at other horses. It is thought that her life after leaving her first home has brought on this new attitude toward being handled and ridden. Caution: Don't touch her with a crop. The HistoryBasic History: Ember was born at a riding barn, her dam (a Welsh pony) being one of their best show ponies (in jumping and dressage) was the reason for the breeding. Her sire (a small Thoroughbred), was from a neighbouring farm and had also competed well so the pairing was perfect for a top show pony. Right from day one, Ember was surrounded by people who loved her to bits (including all the children who rode at the barn). Her training started pretty much straight away and she was taught all the basics (halter, lead, picking feet, tying up). At the age of 2.5 she was introduced to the saddle and the real training began (jumping, dressage and mounted games since she was so neat on her feet). She was 4 before she moved to her next home; the barn hosted a show one day and a girl who was competing saw the young mare and insisted that she take the pony home. The two very competitive personalities didn't get along well and Ember quickly found herself in a new home. After another six homes, Ember found her way to Blue Ridge. The White Rabbit The BasicsShow Name: The White Rabbit Barn Name: Rabbit Age: 11 Gender: gelding Breed: thoroughbred Breed Registry: The Jockey Club The AppearanceCoat Color: Grey Stable Color: Royal Blue Height: 16.2 hh The PersonalityPersonality: Rabbit is a pleasant horse to be around. He has a nice attitude, and is really a gentleman. He likes to play games, and is very clever. He gets bored easily, so Becca has always been sure to get him an array of toys for him to play with when he’s in his stall. Rabbit never raced, and is trained in hunter/jumper and a bit of dressage. Becca learned most of her intermediate and advanced riding on him, and they are really a great team. Rabbit has a tendency of rolling whenever he goes outside, which is rather unfortunate considering his color. Becca tries to keep a rug on him in the winter since his coat doesn’t grow out much, and it keep him cleaner, and a fly sheet in the warmer months. When it comes to riding, Rabbit is on the calmer side and would rather stay collected, but when asked he can get very fast. He is a very scopey jumper, but more so careful, and very clean. His movements are gorgeous and fluent, with long striding and a floating trot. He gets along rather well with other horses, and Frye as well, which is rather surprising. Caution Around: Deer, flags or banners, The HistoryBasic History: Rabbit was born on a thoroughbred breeding farm in New York, and was trained there in hunter/jumper and dressage. Once he’d been trained sufficiently, he was bought by the Becca Walsh and her family. Along with him came Red Friday Night, who was also born and trained on the same farm, though Frye was for Kaitlin. Rabbit and Becca immediately got on very well, and Becca would ride him every day, galloping through the fields on their Vermont farm and jumping him often. She didn’t compete with him, preferring to stay off of the show circuit, but their bond was very strong. When Kaitlin died, Becca was forced to start riding Frye as well, to avoid him being sold, and then left with him to go to Blue Ridge. She would have loved to bring Rabbit along, but knew that Frye needed her more. Becca eventually brought Rabbit to Blue Ridge as well, but found that it was in neither of their best interests for him to be in her hands, due to the direction she was taking with her riding and the attention that Frye needed. She decided to donate him to Blue Ridge Academy so that he could be ridden by others, and perform to the best of his abilities. The TechnicalitiesDiscipline: Hunter/Jumper Owner: BRRA Rider:
