Full Name: James Gareth Monroe
Nick Names: Dr. Monroe, Jamie, Jamie-boy
Student or Staff: Staff, Equine Reproduction teacher
Age: 25
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Gender: Male
Family: Father - Ray Vernon Monroe, deceased
Mother - Madelyn Lynette Izbeth Monroe, deceased
Siblings - Kyle Ray Monroe, brother, 33 & Lizzie Elaine Darin Monroe, sister-in-law, deceased
Aunts/Uncles - Justin & Marlene Izbeth, both alive // Maybeline Monroe, alive
Nieces/Nephews - Tyler James Monroe, 7
Physical Description: James is a fairly nice looking man. A little ‘rough around the edges’ at times, but he cleans up nicely when he wants to. He stands at a solid 6”1 and keeps his weight between 170 and 180 pounds, nearly all of it muscle. His height and weight alone can make him seem quite intimidating, but he isn’t really. He nearly always has a smile on his face and his dark blue eyes are almost always friendly.
He has brown hair that is on the shorter side and is nearly always styled in a ‘scruffy’ sort of way, like he just ran a comb through and left it at that. He also is never completely ‘clean shaven’... he always has a little bit of stubble or five-o-clock shadow. His skin is tanned, not too dark, but definitely not light either, and his hands are calloused.
James doesn’t really ‘dress up’ much. Most of the time he can be seen in a pair of well worn jeans and a simple pair of cowboy boots with some sort of comfortable t-shirt, and, on colder days, a leather jacket. He has no piercings or tattoos, though he does have that incredibly cute Texan accent.
Personality: James is a friendly and likable guy. He’s always been that way. He was never really popular during his teenage years, but he was respected and liked by everyone in his high school and he could hang out with whatever ‘group’ he so wanted. He was, and still is, the type of person who’ll help anyone who needs or wants it.
He’s never really been too interested in dating, and has only had a few girlfriends. He’s always been lucky in the aspect that he could end a relationship and still retain a great friendship. He never really had an absolute best friend, either, just lots of average friends.
James has always been a hard worker, and is passionate about the things that he loves, which includes but isn’t limited to horses, teaching, and his nephew. James loves making things fun and is always trying to figure out new ways to make things more fun. He’s mischevious and enjoys a good joke.
Background: James had a normal childhood, like most kids. He was born and raised around animals, horses, cows, and dogs, specifically. His parents were in their late thirties/early forties when he was born, and his brother was eight years his elder, but they were joined at the hip from the time James could walk.
James learned to ride horses before he ever started kindergarten. His parents were both animal lovers, and they transferred that love onto their sons, though James was more into it than his brother. Jamie got his first horse, a 13 hand, grey Arabian/x/Welsh Pony cross gelding, when he was four.
As he grew up, his love for horses didn’t diminish or dim in the slightest. Throughout his youth and teenage years, James was an active participant in local shows and rodeos. He rode western and bareback during his younger years, as he didn’t start riding english until he was nineteen. James participated in many rodeo events during his teenage years, calf roping and bronc riding being his favorite events. He showed western pleasure and halter a few times but never really liked it, and found that he enjoyed trail classes, but his passion lay with the rodeo. When he got into english riding, he never really got into showing english, though he did show locally a few times in english pleasure, showmanship, and tried his hand at dressage and showjumping but it never really interested him. James gained custody of his nephew when he was twenty after his brother and sister-in-law had a car wreck that left his sister-in-law dead and his brother in the care of their aunt Maybeline with permanent brain damage and long-term amnesia. Two years later, his father died of a massive heart attack, and within the last year, his mother fell ill and died of pneumonia. James attended college and got a PhD in Equine Reproduction. It was in college that he got the nickname ''Dr. Monroe''... due to the way he always studied ahead and enjoyed learning so much, his classmates started calling him 'Dr. Monroe'... and it stuck. Shortly after, he and his nephew packed up and left their home-state of Texas.
Misc.: James has a PhD in Equine Reproduction. He’s also got sole custody of his only nephew, Tyler, as Tyler’s mother is dead and his father suffers from brain damage and isn’t fit to care for a child. Both of James’ parents are dead.

Age: 7
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Gender: Male
Family: Father - Kyle Ray Monroe, 33
Mother - Lizzie Elaine Darin Monroe, deceased
Siblings - N/A
Aunts/Uncles - James Gareth Monroe, 25 // Hunter Matthew Darin, 17
Grandparents - Jordan & Elizabeth Darin, both alive, live in another state // Ray & Madelyn Monroe, both deceased
Physical Description: It’s amazing just how much Tyler looks like his uncle... His hair is almost the same shade of brown, and his blue eyes are just a few shades darker. Tyler has his fathers’ facial structure, though, and he’s naturally skinny, like most active kids.
He stays outside a lot, and gets dark like his uncle during the warmer months, but unlike his uncle, who has a ‘year-round tan’, Tyler gets significantly paler during the colder months, and during the beginning of the warmer seasons, if he isn’t careful, he burns easily until he gets used to the hot sun again.
Ty likes to copy his uncle when it comes to clothes and dresses like a ‘’lil’ cowboy’’ a lot of the time, wearing jeans, cowboy boots, and t-shirts nearly year-round... like James. Tyler likes the colors blue and dark red, and is often seen sporting one or both of those colors in his clothing. Ty’s not ever wanting for food or anything, and he’s the average size for an active kid... standing at an even 3”6 and weighing in at 43 pounds... seven pounds less than the average. Tyler, like his uncle, also has that adorable Texan accent.
Personality: Tyler’s a very sweet little kid... sometimes. At other times, he’s like any other boy... somewhat rebellious every now and then, a bit demanding, and challenging. He’s not shy by nature, but when a lot of people crowd him or when he’s faced with a lot of new people, he turns bashful and hides behind his uncle until he gets to know the new people better.
When it comes to people he knows, he’s loud, active, and can’t seem to sit still for a long time. He’s also somewhat demanding when he feels like he’s being ignored. Ty’s a mischevious boy, like his uncle, and is always getting into something or thinking about doing something he knows he shouldn’t. He hates being clean and always somehow manages to find some mud or something to play in. Because he’s an ‘only child’ he’s a little spoilt and doesn’t really like to share.
Background: If asked, Tyler would probably say that his dad is his uncle James, as his uncle is the only person he’s been living with (not counting the days he stayed with his grandparents before they died) since his mother died and his dad became unable to care for him when he was two.
He’s had a fairly good life, though. While his uncle was at college, Tyler stayed with his grandpa Ray and grandma Madelyn or a baby-sitter. Though he didn’t see a lot of his uncle during the first few years he was in college, Tyler was always extremely close to his uncle and still is. Tyler, like his uncle, is a big nature-lover and also got into horses at an early age. He started riding when he was three, doubling up with his uncle or being ponied around until he turned five. When he turned five and started kindergarten, his uncle bought him his first horse as a birthday present; a little sorrel Welsh Pony gelding called Chief, and started teaching him to ride by himself. Tyler’s taken a few falls and has broken his arm once from falling, but he’s always got back on again. Like his uncle, he’s too stubborn for his own good.
Misc.: Tyler sometimes calls his uncle ‘dad’ when he gets excited (he doesn’t really know his real father)... James allows it, but he would rather Tyler just refer to him as ‘uncle’, even though he’s come to see Ty as a son.
