Physical Description: Charlie is average... she’s pretty, and could be gorgeous, but since she doesn’t put a whole lot of effort into her looks unless she’s got a date or something, she usually hovers around the realm of ‘average country girl’. Her height and weight are about normal... she takes after her mother in height and stands at an average 5”6, though her weight is often lower than what it should be thanks to her being so active. She doesn’t have any fat on her body and her bone structure is rather slim and could be considered delicate, though she has a small amount of muscle and can pack a punch thanks to her brothers’ teachings.
Her skin is medium tanned and she has a few faint freckles. Charlie’s hair is long, thick, and naturally slightly wavy, though she doesn’t often really style it, preferring to pull it back in a loose ponytail or something. Her hair is a dark brown color that she dyes often, usually black. Her eyes are the same brown as her hair.
Charlie doesn’t cater to the styles of today, preferring to make up her own style. She’s creative and imaginative, and can often be seen wearing clothes for comfort rather than style. In fact, half her wardrobe is made up of her older brothers’ discarded shirts, hats, and various other items. The other half is old, worn out and sometimes threadbare ‘dollar’ jeans, a few nice shirts, and a pair or two nice jeans, a few different types of footwear, and a few (rarely worn) jewelry items.
Personality: Charlie is ‘country’. She’s rough and tumble and down-to-earth. She grew up with five brothers and only one sister, so she’s a fighter. She was never really interested in make-up and boys, but rather mud-riding, wrestling, and mechanics... boy stuff. She grew up as a major tom-boy, unlike her girly-girl sister.
Charlie’s a nice girl... underneath her hardened exterior. When you get down to it, she’s nice and caring, though she’s may not seem to be. Her ‘caring’ is telling someone to ‘suck it up and take it like a man’ more often than not. She grew up ‘playing with the big boys’ and even now, as a young adult, she holds on to her childhood of fighting, pranking, and, in general, acting and thinking like a boy. Her elder brothers left their mark on the way she acts, but she’s not one to complain. They made her tough enough to ‘hang out’ with them, taught her how to work on vehicles, shoot and care for guns, drive vehicles, and many other things and she proved to them that she could cope with the injuries, sharp words, and fights and come out on top.
Background: Charlene grew up as a member of a... not wealthy, but not poor family. Middle class, really. She was the fifth of seven kids and the eldest of only two girls. Unlike her sister, Charlene, or Charlie as she insisted on being called, didn’t grow up to be a girly-girl. Charlie grew up tough, always competing with her brothers. A real tom-boy with a wicked sense of humor, thanks to her siblings and their sometimes not so innocent pranks and overall childhood.
Charlie had a good childhood, though, even with her brothers. She spend most of her time with her siblings and dad, learning how to do ‘non-girly’ things like work n vehicles, drive tractors, drive four-wheelers... mud-wrestle, fight, hunt... things like that. In school, she wasn’t a straight A student like her eldest brother, nor was she an A-B student like her elder twin brothers. Instead, she and her sibling Zack were the ‘terrors’ of school, even though he was a grade higher than Char. They were bullies... pranksters... and it was hard to trace the problems back to the two though most everyone in the small town they grew up in knew it was them.
Through Charlie’s childhood, she got into many scraps and fights and had quite a few broken bones and cuts/scrapes during her youth, a lot of them inflicted by her elder brothers who decided to take it upon themselves to ‘teach’ their ‘protégé’ how to fight... among other things.
When Charlie was twelve, she started occasionally helping their neighbor brush his three horses every other day for a few dollars a day. Eventually she was allowed to ride, and her neighbor gave her riding lessons on his oldest gelding. Charlie enjoyed it, though horseback-riding took a backseat in her life, as far as she was concerned. Hanging out with her brothers came first... until her neighbor introduced her into the horse-world properly... by inviting her family to accompany him to a local rodeo where he competed. After witnessing that, Charlie was hooked on riding, though she balanced it out and still hung out with her family as much as she could.
She learned how to barrel race and pole-bend, taught by her neighbor, and competed in the small-town rodeos every now and then when she had time. When she turned fifteen, Charlie’s brothers gifted her with a remodeled Harley Davidson motorcycle that they’d fixed up just for her and she got her motorcycle license. The Harley became her ‘baby’, though it had to move over to share its place with the Mustang gelding that her family was given a few months later.
Now, Charlie’s been accepted to a nice boarding school and stable-like place in Kentucky, where her parents hope she’ll learn to be more like a ‘girl’ and less like a ‘tom-boy’ and where she hopes to further her horseback-riding skills.
Misc.: She’s a real country-girl... tough (who wouldn’t be, growing up with five brothers and only one sister), down-to-earth, fun, not afraid to get dirty/hurt/messy, doesn’t really care for looks/make-up, and not afraid to ‘play with the big boys’, so to speak...
