Full Name: Marney Julissa Madox
Nick Names: Red, Squirt,
Student or Staff: student
Age: 16
Ethnicity: white
Gender: female
Physical Description: Marney is a fair-skinned redhead, with pretty light blue eyes and freckles. Standing at five foot four, she isn't considerably short, but also isn't what would be called tall. Her hair reaches down to a bit past her shoulders and is almost an orange red, usually left down. On her back is a large red scar from where she was burnt when she was fifteen. She always keeps it hidden, not liking others to see it unless unavoidable. She is thin and light, not weighing more than one hundred pounds at the most. Generally found in jeans and a t-shirt, along with either sneakers or riding boots. Marney also tends to be dirty a lot, due to helping in the barns with the horses.
Personality: Marney is an incredibly sweet girl, to anyone and everyone. She can sometimes be a bit naive, especially since she is only sixteen and has had little to no relationships. Easygoing, and generally forgetful, she likes to go with the flow of whatever is going on around her. She doesn't generally think things through fully, and is the type of person who is led entirely by her heart. She doesn't let society and their expectations hold her back from what she wants, and what feels right.
Marney is extremely klutzy, always managing to trip and bump into things. Yet she is such a sweet girl, her clumsiness is simply cute. Marney also happens to have absolutely no sense of direction, and due to her absentmindedness, she'll often not be able to remember how to get anywhere until she's traveled that path multiple times. Marney also happens to be quite the daredevil, finding it hard to say no to anything. Add all of this together, and you have many interesting times ahead.
Despite her generally sweet, naive, adorable nature, Marney isn't someone who can be pushed around. She'll stand up for not only herself, but for anyone around her. She doesn't care what people think about her, and she doesn't hide her opinion of a person when they're being total jerks. In contrast, if someone is feeling down, she'll be one of the first to jump in and try to cheer them up.

~History~
Marney was born to young parents. High school sweethearts, they struggled, John trying to live out his dream of becoming a reporter while Tori tried to make it through medical school to become a nurse. Having a baby was the last thing they wanted at the moment. With their daughter came even more expenses, less time for work and school, and just themselves, and far more stresses than they wanted. John and Tori's relationship was hanging on by thin threads, and as they fought more, the threads began unraveling. Marney wasn't even a year old when Tori, too stressed to deal with a child, insisted they give her up. John was appalled, and with that the last few strands that was their relationship snapped.
John was given full custody oh Marney, and while Tori was given the right to have visitation whenever she wanted, it was obvious that the desire wasn't high. After the divorce was finalized, John moved him and the baby to South San Francisco, Tori putting up no fight. John and Marney stayed in California until she was five, when John's career took off. Landing a job as a traveling reporter, Marney spent the rest of her life traveling with her father to places all over the world, from as close as her own neighborhood, to New York, Europe, Asia, and more.
Marney was eight when her mother remarried a man named Henry Roth, and physiologist who enjoyed trying to shrink his stepdaughter. Tori, once remarried, became more interested in her child, and due to this the girl was forced to spend a month of every summer with her mother, along with a few weeks throughout the year. Marney, who adored her father and hated being away from him for long, hated the visits. She didn't like Henry at all, there was always a slight discomfort when around her mother due to the knowledge that the woman had tried to get rid of her.
The only joy the girl ever had while with her mother and stepfather was visiting the horses. Henry happened to breed horses as a "hobby," and Marney always loved visiting the horses. She enjoyed helping the trainers groom the beasts, and even got a few lessons on how to ride. When she grew to spend her entire time earning extra money by mucking the stalls and riding, just for the joy of it. She became quite the jumper, and multiple people tried to convince her to compete. She resisted, enjoying the bonding and having no desire to be in the limelight.
Marney and John were, on one of the rare occasions, home in San Francisco, when the accident happened. It was the middle of the night, and Marney awoke in the middle to the right to find her home aflame. The fire blocked her door, and there was no way to go out of the window safely. She ended up passing out, only to awaken in a hospital, a large burn on her back. She learned her father had perished.
She was fifteen then, and sent to live with her mother and stepfather. Afterwards, every night she would have nightmares of fire, seeing her father surrounded by the flames, and she unable to save him. Henry continuously tried to convince her talk about it, though she refused. She spent all of her time either at school or in the barns with her stallion, Trigger. Finally, they gave up, and shipped the girl off to the Blue Ridge Riding Academy, hoping she might be able to deal with her demons better out in the wild wilderness, surrounded by people her own age with similar interests.
Misc.: Marney knows bits and pieces of French, German, Japanese, and a few different dialects of Chinese. She's quite the partier, but has yet to have any real boyfriend. She's waiting for her happily ever after, and is trying to put her past behind her.
