Show Name: Texas Hold ‘Em
Barn Name: Outlaw
Age: 6
Gender: Gelding
Color: True-black with no markings
Breed: Quarterhorse/x/Mustang
Height: 16.1 hands
Personality: Outlaw’s name suits him perfectly... He’s high spirited, somewhat aggressive at times... an ‘outlaw’ horse... he’s still fairly young, so he might calm down as he gets older... but it’s unlikely. He loves to run and can be quite stubborn as well as explosive for no reason. James claims it’s his ‘Mustang blood’, but the truth of it is, Outlaw’s sire was feisty and stubborn, and Outlaw gets it from him. Law isn’t a very people oriented horse... he’d rather be left alone than be handled, honestly... but once he gets the tack on and gets going, he enjoys his job well enough, whatever his job may be may be. His rider has to be watchful, though, because he’ll still take any opportunity to take control... Basically, he’s not been fully broke, no matter how much he’s handled. He’s also a ‘habitual biter’, so you need to be a little watchful when you’re handling him.
History: Outlaw was James’ horse before he was even born, as he was bought ‘in embryo’. When he was weaned, he was sent to James. Outlaw was always a standoff-ish horse, even as a weanling and yearling. He was started as a late three year old and was ridden consistently through his fourth year, then put out to pasture as a five year old when he suddenly just went lame... for no reason. Vets couldn’t figure out the reason he was lame and he was put out on pasture rest. He was cleared for riding after the mystery lameness finally went away a few long months later, but still got the rest of the year off ‘just in case’. It’s time he was brought back into work and retaught his stuff... though not until he’s had another vet check.
Discipline: Mainly western
