Sari Rose O'leary
Leary Girl (instant messaging screen name)
Student (Groomer part-time)
Age:15
Caucasian, Irish
Physical Description:
Sari has light blond hair that is very flat and sometimes frizzy. In the mornings she has big cowlicks on either side of her head. She almost always keeps it tied up and out of the way, sometimes adding a small, colorful barrette or a twist in the ponytail. She normally wears a smart-alec t-shirt with designer jeans, brown half-chaps and paddock boots. Sometimes Sari slides on her wonderfully old lime green high-top sneakers. Her tiny body is not really pale, or dark, but somewhere in between. Unfortunately when she tans she only receives a light smattering of freckles or red skin for a two to three hour effort. This is very annoying. She has a small chest and small legs but is surprisingly small for her size.
Sari swears that her nose swells every morning. She always has to be touching it and it's getting to be an unbreakable habit. Her eyes are a dark blue with a thin line of green around her pupils. Her lips are light and full, but she never notices them. Sari always wears a small necklace, a silver pineapple hanging on a silver chain. It symbolizes hospitality, her mom always says, but Sari only wears it to remind herself of her mom.
Personality
Sari throws herself into everything she does. When she rides, she is very competitive, but always manages to swallow her pride and say "Good Luck" or "Nice job" during competitions. Sometimes she also has mood swings. On good days she is light, happy and airy, feeling elegant and strong. On others though, Sari feels awkward, weak, and frustrated. Her mother tells her she is a pessimist, so when those tests come up, she bites her lip and answers "Half full". Books and horses are her life. If you're looking for Sari Lee, look up. She is almost always perched on the highest branch of a tree, balancing on her toes and trying to read. She also sometimes bring a blanket into her horses stall, and continues to read there. Sari would be a great actress, but she reeaally doesn't want to seem dramatic.
History
Sari grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, giving her the slightest accent. You can barely even tell it's there. At age eight, her family moved to New York. This was one of the happiest times of her life, because her riding boosted with a new trainer, Sarah Paige. In Iowa, there was not many chances to ride, so the move to New York plunged her into a horse showing world. She got her first pony at nine, and his name was Robin Hood. He taught her a huge amount of the basics in no time at all, so she moved on to a new pony, Rascal. He was an old man, and stood patiently while Sari struggled to untangle his bridle, mount, muck his stall, ect., ect. Eventually, he taught her his fill too, and he had to leave. The one who taught her the most though, was Carlotta. The fiery chestnut mare repeatedly threw Sari into the dirt until she learned to canter and trot just right, and jump two foot, two foot six, and three foot. When her trainer thought she was ready, they gathered their money and bought a real jumper. A Single Shard. Sari named her after a favorite book, and immediately the were inseparable friends. As she would walk into Shard's stall, the mare would nicker and lower her head so Sari could scratch her ears. Eventually Sari's mind strayed from schoolwork and her mom sent her here, to Blue Ridge Academy.
Sari also owns a Weimaraner puppy named Doug.
