Braelynn entered the library, carrying a few books of her own and looked around anxiously. The quiet seemed to be symbolic for her life, and she sighed in quiet anxiety. The warm sun rays were beginning to descend in the sky, and she felt the warm sun trying to linger on her back as she entered. She was wearing her favorite jeans, destroyed and distressed. On her top, she wore her favorite plaid shirt along with a white tank top under neath. She looked like the typical prep girl, and she was content with wearing that style. Her long blond hair hung down around her shoulders, and her short bangs were side swept to the side of her face. She glanced around the library quickly, and saw a few people studying, not that she knew any of them. She walked over to the first empty table she saw, and slid down into a chair slowly. Sighing, she opened a book and began to read, focusing intently on the book.

AveryJohnson had wondered into the library earlier, searching for something to read. The eighteen year old loved history and found himself browsing down that aisle. His calloused hand pulled a dusty book from a shelf. It looked like it was written at least twenty years ago, and was probably never read. It somehow made it seem like the book was left out. It was about, judgeing by the first few pages, the frontier days of America and the old mining towns. It looked promising. The cowboy walked over to the area that housed the tables when he happened to catch glimpse of a very pretty blonde. She had just entered the library. Her hair floated around her like a halo as she took a seat at a table by herself.
Avery was never really known for doing any sort of thing, but how else to find out who you really are unless you try something new? The girl was focused reading on her book. The cowboy made his way over to her, and cleared his throat, "Excuse me," he offered her a freindly grin, "I think you got my chair."

Braelynn was totally engrossed with her book that she did not even notice anyone else in the library but herself. Sighing, she ran a quick hand through her hair and maintained her focus on the book that was sitting before her. She had read this book plenty of times before, but she enjoyed reading it and always looked starting from the beginning of it. She flipped a page, continuing to read, oblivious to the world around her.
Hearing someone else fiddling in the library, she quickly glanced up and noticed a handsome cowboy looking for a book as well. She glanced over in his direction and watched as he pulled out an older looking book. Quickly, she looked back down towards her book, and hoping he did not notice her looking at him. Suddenly, he was beside her table and speaking to her, and Braelynn looked up casually, smiling warmly at him. "I'm sorry sir.. I was not aware this was your seat.." She spoke quietly and softly, and looked up at him with inquiring blue eyes.

Avery swallowed as she looked up at him. Her blue eyes were captivating, she offered him a smile. The cowboy quickly thought of what to say next, "That's okay, I won't miss it too much," he added with a joking grin as he pulled out a chair and sat down. He rested the book he picked up on the table top and his eyes trailed to the cover of the one she was reading.
His soft brown orbs glanced up at her, "I'm Avery Johnson, just got here yesterday," he explained, his southern Oklahoma drawl coming out more in his voice. His father hadn't called him yet, that was surprising. He had been telling small lies, like he had been practicing his roping and so forth, but in truth, he had only been on an animal once since he was here, and it was nothing to do with rodeo, just a mere pleasure ride on the trails. He wondered if this girl rode, and if so, wether or not she owned any horses what disciplines they were trained in.

Braelynn quickly slid the book shut when Avery pulled up the chair to sit down at the same table she was sitting. She flashed a quick smile at him and then glanced down at the table top, looking closer at the book he had selected to read. It was something having to do with history of the United States and the book looked like it had not been read in a good while. Still, she was not one to judge about what other people liked or read, and she was not going to judge him based on the book that he had selected.. at least this time. She always wanted to get to know people before forming any judgments about them. However, she was such a sweet person, that her judgments were never bad at all. She normally saw everyone for the good in them, and believed that everyone was essentially good.
When he spoke to her again, she looked over at him and turned her body towards him to respond. "It's nice to meet you Avery.. I'm Braelynn, or just Lynn.." She smiled warmly over at the boy again, letting the smile shine in her blue eyes. Deciding to wait a minute, she paused before continuing. "Soo.. do you ride? I have two thoroughbred geldings that are trained in show jumping.."

The cowboy nodded as the blonde said her name, he rolled it over in his mind so he would remember her the next time he saw her. He liked the way Braelynn sounded, the nick name she offered him was so common, but her full name wasn't it. His coffee brown eyes watched her as she spoke. She seemed to be a very freindly and bright person, probably very tender and sensitive as well, taking rude comments straight to her pure heart. He smiled as she asked if he rode, and went on and explained about her two horses as if she was almost psychic to his previous thoughts.
"I ride some," he commented. This was true, way more than he wanted to actually, "I have been riding an academy horse name Southern Affair, as mine is back home. My main talent is calf roping, but I enjoy other things," he explained, "Where are you from?"

Braelynn watched with her deep blue eyes as the boy explained himself and the horse he was currently working on. His coffee brown eyes seemed deep and thoughtful and she looked towards them as he spoke, giving him full attention of herself. Her body remained positioned turned towards him and she listened intently as he spoke to her. When he mentioned that his horse was still at home, she shook her head slightly and responded quickly. "Oh man, I could never imagine leaving either one of my boys home.. She trailed off, hoping she was not offending him at all. A warm smile stayed planted upon her face, and she was hoping she was not creeping him out either by smiling so much.
"I'm actually from right outside Boston, Massachusetts. How about yourself?" She let her Bostonian accent drag on, looking at him curiously.

Avery watched her, offering her a half smile at her comment. A lot of people couldn't because they had a 'bond' with their horse. Avery's dad never taught him anything like that. He didn't know how deep a horse could feel for a person. He figured it best just to let that part of the conversation go.
As the blonde spoke of where she was from, the cowboy could easily picture her from Boston. She was a young lady of class. He shot her a crooked grin when she asked about him, "Waurika, Oklahoma," he said dipping his hat lightly, "Population around 1,000." while he was just a mere country boy. The largest city he had ever been too was Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and that was only for competeing in rodeos, he was forced to go to. His father was determined to raise a dang good cowboy, little did he know, he was doing the complete opposite. But none of that mattered now, what honestly could his father do from way back home? Nothing... or so one would think.
The cowboy glanced quickly at the table, wondering what to do or say next. His eyes once again landed on the cover of the book she was reading, she seemed so intently focused on it earlier, "A good read?" he asked casually, his eyes drifting to the old book in front of him, then back at Braelynn, offering her a small smile.

Braelynn nodded slowly when he mentioned where he was from and explained the town's population. Her entire life had been lived around a city's atmosphere, with her aunt and uncle's farm the only escape. In fact, she had spent a lot of time at the farm once her parents did not want to deal with her anymore, or had anymore time for her. She shook her head, not choosing to reveal that part of her life, at least not as soon as she first met someone. She had used that approach with her old boyfriend from home, and well.. look how well that turned out. Drifting her blue eyes back towards the table, she spotted the bottle of water she had brought with her, and grabbed it, cracking it open to drink. She took several long pulls on the bottle before capping it, and placing it back on the table.
When the boy looked back towards her book and questioned her about it, she nodded and smiled quickly. "It's one of my favorite books ever. I read it all the time, and even always start over it." She looked back towards his eyes and smiled warmly

Watching the blonde drink water made him realize how thirsty he actually was. Did he even drink anything this morning? He couldn't remember. His throat and mout felt rather dry, but he could go find a water fountain after this conversation ended. He was pleased it was going so well, she was a very beautiful and sweet girl, well, it seemed that way anyway.
He smiled at her answer to his question, "It must be good then," he grinned at her. His eyes trailed down to the table not sure what to say. Why were words so seldom to come now? He felt a vibration in his pocket, and he didn't need to look at the screen to see who was calling. The thought of ignoring it popped into his mind, but, he knew he would feel guilty for it later. He held out a finger, "Excuse me one second, I have to take this," he smiled as he pulled the device from his pocket.
He didn't bother to move from his seat. He flipped the phone open, "Hey Dad," he said in a quieter tone, so the librarian wouldn't come over and shush them. Phones weren't really allowed in the room, but Avery figured he wouldn't get in trouble as long as he didn't disturb anybody.
"What have you been up too? How's roping comin'? You better place first in the next competition." The voice on the other end of the phone was rough and harsh. "I will, don't worry. Not much, I'm just at the library-" "The library? Why the heck are you in that waste of space? You better not be goofin' off. I will come up their myself!"
Avery's face turned to hurtful expression. He swallowed. He didn't want to be a cowboy. Sure, he love horses, but more than that, he loved learning. He took pride in his good grades, he always made A's, and the occasionl B's. Why didn't his father support him in what he wanted to do? Avery loved history more than anything, and thought of becoming a history professor. But, that would betray his father's will. The cowboy couldn't decide who's life he wanted to live, his father's or his own. The line was cut off, and their was silence. The cowboy quickly looked over to Braelynn, and smile graced his face, forgetting his father made him upset. That was none of this girl's problems to worry about, and he wouldn't burden her with them. He hoped she hadn't heard the conversation, though his dad's voice was rather loud.

Braelynn nodded politely as Avery answered the phone and glanced down at the books that lay on the table quickly. Her book was written rather recently, but all the times she flipped through the pages and folded it over, it was beginning to look like his book. Sighing, she glanced over at Avery, and he appeared to have a hurtful expression on his face while he was talking. The person he was talking to sounded loud and angry, but she knew it was none of her business to listen to what was being said. All she heard was loud and angry talking on the other end, and Avery's softer responses to the talking. She suddenly wished her parents would call her, but she knew they would not. The only messages she got since she got here was from her aunt, and they were brief.
Sighing, she shifted her gaze back to Avery and wondered what the person he was talking to could be saying to make him look so hurt. He was such a friendly person to her so far, and she had not met many people here since she arrived. Avery had finished his phone conversation, and she noticed as a smile planted upon his face once he was off the phone. She returned his smile with a smile of her own, and looked over at him with deep, inquisitive blue eyes. Smiling, she thought of something to talk to him about to get his mind off the conversation. "Soo.. what do you want to do with your life? I see your book is related to history, are you super interested in that? Sorry, excuse me if I'm prying too much" She kept a smile on her face, hoping she was not prying too much
