~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'll understand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lestat stepped into the airy barn. In the distance he saw his gelding's refined warmblood head over the stall door. He whistled softly, and Benny turned his head and gave a low whicker to welcome Lestat. He patted the horse's neck, before fetching his tack. Benny hadn't been ridden recently, so Lestat was sure that the young horse would be bubbling with energy. Not that the gelding would do anything to harm, but horses were horses. Once Benny was saddled, Lestat led the young horse into the bright light of day, and quickly decided to use the indoor arena. Benny could get very excitable when working in the open air, and Lestat wanted the horse calm. They were just going to focus on dressage today, so it mean't that Benny wasn't going to be very happy. Entering the arena, he was glad to see that they were alone. Lestat quickly mounted and started warming up Benny. It was only the second or third time that he was riding the horse with a double bridle, and Benny had taken to it like a duck to water. Lestat was satisfied with the horse playing with the bits. Riding on a loose rein, he walked at an active pace around the arena. Benny's nose was nearly touching the dirt of the arena, and Lestat started collecting after two rounds at a walk. Lestat had been suffering from severe nose-bleeds the last couple of days, and he was still to see a doctor. Thankfully, they hadn't cropped up anytime today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outfit: HereHorse: Callaho BenicioLyrics: Iris--Goo Goo Dolls Notes: My poor Lestat.
Summer days were warm and happy to most people. Kristin would drop to her knees and pray for rain if given the chance that a miracle like that would happen. Her unpainted finger nails held an australian shepard puppy close to her chest. Her blue eyes glanced from him, to it's new owners arriving in a suburban. The little puppy was a gift from her ex, and well, after what happened she couldn't bond with the dog. He just made her think of Travis.
The middle-aged couple emerged from the cab. They made their way over to the blonde girl, "Oh, isn't he just precious?" the woman cooed, gently taking the puppy from Kristin's grasp. The girl took a step back and watched the couple love the puppy and pet him, making his tail wag all over the place. She didn't let a tear roll down her face, she didn't feel like crying today. Truth be told, she wanted too, she just couldn't. Her mind couldn't find emotion, no sadness, no happiness. It was driving her crazy, she needed to feel something. The woman looked at her now, "We will give him a good home," she said in a reassuring voice. Quite frankly, the blonde didn't care what happened to the animal. No, she did, she just wouldn't admit it. It wasn't the puppy's fault, so why did she have all these negative feelings for it? She forced a fake smile on her face, "I'm sure y'all will, thank you," and with that, she turned and walked off. She didn't go back to her room, she went out to the barns.
Red Willow barn was the place her beloved gelding was housed. Kristin zipped up the plaid jacket she wore and threw the hood over her head as she entered the barn. At this time of day, it was bustling with students, and she didn't want anything to do with them. She made a B line straight for Bo's stall. The chestnut appaloosa eagerly greeted her, knowing things weren't right. Kristin slid the light blue halter over his nose and led him out. The animal too, was full of energy of not being worked with much. On another day, Kristin might have taken him to the round pen to work him and settle him down, but today, she straight tacked him up.If he was going to get excited and buck, so be it. Maybe she would feel something whether it be fear or pain. Her small hand ran a brush quickly over the parts of the horse's body the tack would go. The blonde put the lime green blanket on the animal's back followed by her black western saddle. Now, she looked up at the animal's face, "Trust is a fragile thing." She headed out towards the arena, not changeing the animal into a bridle,leading him out there with his halter.
Of course it was warm outside, so the jacket was starting to make her under arms sweat, but that didn't matter. She stopped a good distance from the outdoor arena, it was crowded, of course on such a nice day. The girl wheeled around and headed for the indoor arena instead. Upon entering, there was one rider, and Kris couldn't place if she knew him or not. That made her life easy. Her scrawny hand opened the gate and she led the appaloosa through. Her blue eyes glanced at the other rider, she couldn't place his face. Temporarily putting the thought from her mind, she unclipped Bo's lead from the bottom and moved it to one side of the halter, then she tied a knot around the otherside so the rope could function as reins. The girl gathered part of Bo's mane and the black cotton rope in one hand, and the other she rested on the pommel. Her boot was stuck in the stirrup and she swung into the saddle. The gelding raised his head higher and his ears pointed back as he was interested in what the girl was doing. It was only then, that she slid the hood from her head to reveal her face and blonde hair that she straightened that morning. Outfit: Click<3Horse: Click<3Notes: I am feelin'the muse!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'll understand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lestat was glad that Benny was working so well in the double bridle. Manny, his stallion, was getting on in years and Benny was the best young horse that he found at the time. He was so engrossed with his horse, that he didn't notice the young rider enter the arena. When he did, he couldn't exactly place her,but she did resemble the Academy owner. Lestat didn't know her personally, but he had heard a lot about her. The way gossip spread around the school it was a miracle that very little had been said about him. Apart from something silly liking speaking French, nothing more was said. Lestat's French/Irish background accounted for his Irish accent and fluent French speaking capabilities. Well done boy he told the horse, his Irish accent only slightly ringing in the arena. Benny flicked an ear back, and continued to mouth the bit, foam flying everywhere. They hadn't even been working that long, but the apple mouth snaffle was doing it's job. Lestat asked for a trot, and Benny responded well, and Lestat asked the horse to bring his back legs underneath him. Benny was an active horse, and had energy to spare. Lestat let the other rider have her space and only used one half of the large arena. Benny, being slightly slow, noticed the other horse, and gave a ringing neigh. Lestat laughed at his horse's antics and gave the slightly sweaty neck a pat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outfit: HereHorse: Callaho BenicioLyrics: Iris--Goo Goo Dolls Notes: Hehe. Her hands held the soft black cotton. Her blue eyes looked down at the chestnut's neck. Her fingers ran lightly over a white spot that stood out among the rest of his coat. He was busy watching the horse, and being his lazy self, that there was no need to go anywhere at the moment. Kristin looked up from the horse, before she went back into that deep, dark world it was hard to get out of.
Her eyes landed on a dark chesnut from sweat. His mouth was foaming at the bit. The girl had ownded and ridden lots of horses in her life, before her parents died, and she never saw them foam like that. It seemed like the more high-spirited breeds did the most, more warmbloods than anything else. She had just never seen it at a rodeo or western horse show. Maybe it was just an English thing. She now let her eyes drift up to the man. He seemed to be a good rider. Not to mention he was cute. The question, was he like all the other cute guys? Kristin was well aware she wasn't a model, in fact, pretty far from it. Is that why men were never satisfied with her? She looked back down at Bo, at least no man was there to critiscize him now. The girl twirled some of his thin mane with her fingers, "I'm sorry," she whispered. But there, she could almost feel a tear come. Why would a horse seem to bring out more emotion in her, than a human? Because they never hurt you? Horses, well, all animals, only do what they were born to know, love and forgive. They don't hold grudges, they don't do anything out of pure meanness, like humans all the time.
She looked off towards the other end of the arena now, it was ghostly empty, like something inside her. She squeezed her heels into the appaloosa's sides, smooched her lips and turned the rein. The gelding swiveled his ears and gave in supple to the snaffle, and turned and took off at a walk towards the other end of the arena. Bo never did carry his head as low as the usual western pleasure horse. No matter how clumsy he looked, or his silly antics, the blonde thought the worl of him. He was all she had to hang onto, other than her brother. She knew her seat was perfect, it never was, but especially not today. Her mind just wouldn't completely zone in on anything, there was always something back there, but it was yet to know exactly what.
Kristin asked the gelding for a trot by squeezing her heels and smooching again. The horse picked up to a smooth trot, she loved his trot. He was gaited after all. His head held higher now, and his tail was erect and streamed behind him like a pround banner. The other rider's horse let out a nicker, but Bo paid no other mind except for the turn of an ear. He wasn't very talkative, at all. The sound of the man's melodic laughter entered her own ears. The girl didn't want to come off as rude, but she didn't feel like talking, though riding did put her in a better mood. She offered the man a half smile as they rode closer to the pair, "He's not much of a talker," she explained. She cursed herself for speaking. The same old thing always came next, introductions. People took one thought in thinking she was the co-owner of the school and it was like she turned into queen magesty who demanded the most respect and awkward situations ever. Her blue eyes trailed to the ground.Outfit: Click<3Horse: Click<3Notes: Haha, she'll be okay, epecially with Lestat's help

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'll understand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lestat gave her small smile in return, but still really didn't place her face. It seemed familiar in a way, but then again, many faces seemed familiar to him. One that kept cropping up was that of Raven. A female that he had met a few weeks ago, and hadn't seen again. Oh well. I think Benny figured that out he said with a small grin. The horse was scratching his head against Lestat's boot with an affronted look on his face. Lestat prodded the gelding softly in the mouth to teach him not too rub. Benny gave a snort, and the foam went flying. His boot wasn't black anymore, but now a very whitish foam flecked resemblence of a boot. Realising that he forgot his manners very quickly he made up for it by swearing underneath his breath. M3rde thankfully it was soft enough that if she did catch it, it would still be in French. Sorry. I'm Lestat. Lestat de Lioncourt. It's a pleasure to meet you... he trailed off at the end so that the girl would be brave enough to offer her name in return. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outfit: HereHorse: Callaho BenicioLyrics: Iris--Goo Goo Dolls Notes: Never fear when Lestat is near.
The girl nodded her head once in responce to the statement she propsed about Bo. Her blue eyeswatched the horse for a moment, and she couldn't help but let a small giggle escape at the horse's antics and how he blew foam all over the man's very nice looking boot. Then she felt rather ashamed for laughing, hoping it wasn't harmed.
The blonde didn't speak any other laungauge than English, and truthfully, she wasn't paying total attention on the man, as thoughts her mind wouldn't surface kept her somewhat distracted. His unique accent, that she never caught before filled the air around them as he introduced himself. It then clicked of who this man was. Granted, if Kristin had reviewed his profile right a while back when he came, he was a bit older than her, but, why should she care? It wasn't like... you know... she was interested in any sort of relationship or anything... As his accent trailed off, she took it as a cue she was supposed to say something. The way he said his name in his accent had a wonderful ring to it. Kristin however, wasn't going to try and butcher it. She thought about attempting to say it, but she would embarrass herself, maybe she already did as she could feel some color coming to her cheeks. Lord, why couldn't she be her normal self at the moment who was good at introdcutions? She just wasn't good at anything now! She cleared her throat, "It's nice to meet you too," she said in a quieter voice. Then she realized she forgot to say her name, "I'm Kristin," she added on the end. But then, she felt like she should apologize for her idiotic behavior, so she kept talking, "Sorry, I just am kinda tired today, so I'm not all here... as if I ever am," Just shut up!!! her mental concince screamed at her. The girl decided to take the advice. Her blue orbs looked at the man, trying to remember what else she knew about him. Her lips casted him a slightly embarrased grin without really meaning too.
Bo had investigated the other horse enough. Now his ADD mind seemed to need something else to do. He pulled his head down scratched his left front cannon with his lip then started going after it with his teeth. Outfit: Click<3Horse: Click<3Notes: Lol!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'll understand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So this was the Academy owner. Or one half of the pair at least. Lestat had never met the owners before. He was merely an employee of their establishment. I think we can all truthfully say that we aren't here all the time. His lips tugged at the corner of his mouth, giving Kristin a small smile. Noticing her horse starting to become restless, he made an active decision to say something. I see your boy is getting restless and it was true. Benny was one ball of energy and just needed a good workout as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outfit: HereHorse: Callaho BenicioLyrics: Iris--Goo Goo Dolls Notes: Sorry for the blergh-ness

Judgeing by how he responded, the girl knew he either changed his manner finding out she was owner of the academy, or maybe he was just weirded out by her blondeness. This should have been a warning to her why she didn't feel like conversing with anyone. But, did she ever listen to herself? No. She would probably save herself a lot of trouble and time if she did. The nineteen year old could think of nothing to say.
Look! It's a bird, no, it's a plane, no, it's super horse! As he always seemed to do, Bo jumped in and saved the day, or maybe the conversation. The gelding had a knack for getting Kristin out of tight spots such as these, by being his own self. She secretly thanked him in her mind. Kristin giggled lightly, "He's just bored. I'd be lucky to get him to run around the ring a few times," she said looking down at the animal. Bo rose his head back to normal level and snorted. He took a step forward, "Ah!" the girl scolded in a low tone and made him back up a step, "Him and Patience never see eye to eye," she grinned up at Lestat. She glanced down at his horse, "What breed is he?" Sure, she could tell a quarter horse from an arabian and a paint from a palomino, but all those english warmblood breeds looked the same to her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'll understand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Benny's back half moved around as the other horse stepped forward. Lestat jiggled the reins to alert the horse to his presence. Benny sometimes decided that no matter how much tack on him there was, he was wild and free. Most of the time this happened out on the cross-country course. Obviously Benny had no evil intentions, but for the 17 hh gelding's rider it hurt. A lot sometimes. Hearing her question among his thoughts, most of which comprised of scientific fact, he quickly sorted out his answer. Oh, Benny is a German Warmblood he said with a smile on his face. He loved both his horses, but Benny was one of those really special ones. He patted the slightly damp neck of the horse lovingly. What breed is your horse? he asked as not to be rude. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outfit: HereHorse: Callaho BenicioLyrics: Iris--Goo Goo Dolls Notes: ---
