The dark headed boy tapped his foot excitedly as he stood outside the barn named White Oak. He had placed Tease into the pasture so that he could spend the day with his new arrival. He looked up from studying his shoe when he heard the sound of a vehicle, but it was just a student. He huffed impatiently, casting a glance to a patiently sat Albert, watching his masters every movement. This made Freddie suspicious, his oracles narrowing at the canine. ''What are you up to?'' His vocals were unsure, yet he knew the dog was up to something. He was about to push it further when yet another vehicle sounded, and this time it was the correct one. He jumped up ecstatically, sprinting out to meet the driver. As he awaited the man to exit the truck, Freddie studied the impressive trailer. He knew Knight was coming from a well off owner, but not this good. He suddenly felt as if he had under paid for the gelding. ''I'll get him out, you can shoot straight off then.'' he told the driver, who nodded gratefully. As Freddie unlocked the back door to the trailer, his mouth fell open in surprise. ''I thought he was supposed to be 16HH.'' he gasped, his eyes cast over the black gelding, who was at least 17HH. The driver shrugged, and clambered back into his truck. Freddie was still astounded, but climbed into the trailer with the horse. Knight greeted him excitedly, the geldings gray lips wrapping around the boy's arm. Freddie giggled, untying his lead rope. Knight backed easily from the trailer, and allowed Freddie to pause and shut the trailer door. This pleased the Westphalian's new owner, making him certain that the gelding would be fine during the boxing part of showing.
Freddie walked slowly into the barn, hidden completely by Knight's huge structure as they moved. Albert stayed at the front of the barn, his oracles locked on something in the distance. Freddie rolled his eyes, but he knew the Old English Sheepdog wouldn't stray far. Then, the gasp of another student reached Freddie's ears. And then a sigh of relief. Freddie peered around Knight's broad dome to see Hayden, a new student at the academy. "I thought he was walking himself then, Freddie. He's sure a fine beast." Hayden explained, causing Freddie to laugh happily. ''He's a beaut, but his past owner told me he is was only 16HH.'' he chuckled, ruffling the forelock of the gelding. Freddie noticed Hayden was leading his paint mare, who was hobbling uncomfortably beside her owner. ''She's lame? What happened?'' he asked, concern marring his vocals. Hayden smiled at the boy's kind tone and answered easily. ''Stone caught in her foot, I'm just bringing her in to try and dig it out.'' The older boy came to a stop outside his mare, Rhian, stall. He waved to Freddie as the boy carried on toward Knight's stall. Hayden began to work on dislodging the stone in Rhian's hoof.
Albert suddenly gave an squeal, bolting from his space in the door way. Freddie looked out from Knight's stall to see him bounding toward Hayden's three canines. Freddie grinned as the three lumbered inside with their new companion. ''They'll be alright with him tagging along, won't they?'' he called to Hayden, who shouted back that they would be fine. Freddie went back to checking over his new addition, struggling to reach up high enough to run his hands over the geldings back. Knight was determine to stop Freddie from reaching there anyway, he kept stretching around to pull at his new owners shirt, yanking him toward the front of his body. Freddie laughed each time, glad the equine was so friendly. He decided that Knight was in perfect condition for now, so they could just spend the time getting to know each other. ''Well, Sir Knight, I am your new tamer. You may call me Freddie, but only because I like you.'' Knight's response was to lift his large cranium and pull his lips back over his ivories to grin at Freddie. Freddie smiled, earning a whinny from his steed. ''As you have already seen, I have another friend named Albert. He is actually a human, but he has a rare hair disorder. He also dislikes to wear clothes, a bit of a nudist you see.'' he explained, as if Knight understood every word. The black horse dropped his dome to rest his muzzle on Freddie's shoulder. ''There is Tease, whom you are yet to meet. She shall be your neighbor as well as your pasture mate. She's okay for a mare, a little stroppy at times. But, you'll get used to her. '' He beamed, looking over his shoulder to see Hayden walk past with an expression of frustration. He guessed the stone wouldn't come out of Rhian's hoof. ''No luck?'' he asked, gaining a dismayed shake of the head from the Australian male.
