SHOW NAME: Winter Leaves BARN NAME: Neeve HEIGHT: 13.1 HH BREED: Connemara GENDER: Mare COLOR: Dapple Gray AGE: Thirteen PERSONALITY: Neeve is stubborn but loyal, and Polo is her love. As soon as she knows where she is going, and what she is doing, all hell breaks loose. She begins quivering in excitement and screaming about it at the top of her lungs. It makes Lexie chuckle, but some students do not like it. They get used to her though. To handle, it is a different matter. She drags her feet, and often refuses to go. But, once she gets to know you, she handles better. Not exceptional, but better. But, once she gets to know you, she will test you on your weakest skills. She is very clever like that, making her a hit with many riders and not so much with others. HISTORY: Neeve is travelling from Britain with Lexie and her lot. There are five members of the Polo team all together coming with Lexie, and Neeve is her favorite of the lot. She has been in the sactuary all her life, born to one of the mares that came in pregnant from an old home. She has always been a favorite, and who Lexie first used for Polo. The pony grew too small for Lexie, but she decided to bring her to the academy for the smaller riders, who will enjoy what the mare has to offer. RECOMMENDED FOR: Anyone, when she behaves. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: -------

SHOW NAME: Tuxedo and Tie BARN NAME: Tashi HEIGHT: 15.2 HH BREED: Friesian/Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse cross GENDER: Gelding COLOR: Dark Bay AGE: Four PERSONALITY: Although he is young, Tashi seems much older than he is. Defined as an old soul, something that has walked the planet in a different form before. He's level headed, has rarely played up and knows when his rider means business. This doesn't mean that he does not get excited, he does, but it is rare. He loves people, but doesn't like too much attention, it sort of annoys him. His audits flicker back against his neck once he has had enough, but he'll do nothing more about it. The more he knows you, the more tolerant he seems to get. As well as being level headed, Tashi is very observant, so it makes him hard to spook. He really seems to be an old horse trapped in a young horses body. HISTORY: Tashi is one of the equines Lexie has purchased in America. When she gets to the academy, this will be the first time meeting him along with five other horses. He has been trained by a woman in Colorado, a well respected Polo player whom Lexie has met before when the woman traveled to Britain last year. This is when Lexie heard about Tashi, and jumped at the chance of taking him to the academy with her. He was easy to break and train, and will make a perfect beginners horse, even if he is so young. RECOMMENDED FOR: Beginners DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Everett Smith

SHOW NAME: Man In The Middle BARN NAME: Abba HEIGHT: 14.3 HH BREED: Criollo GENDER: Gelding COLOR: Bay AGE: Twelve PERSONALITY: Abba may look dopey, but he is most definitely not. He'll play up to the assumption for a while, but then will suddenly turn the tables on you. He begins to play up, ignore orders and take of in the direction and speed he wants to. It takes an experienced rider to control him. Yet, he has the desire to want to please his rider, but he has to test them first, see if their worthy of him. This may take a while, but once he decides he likes you, you'll have a friend for life. He adores other animals though, especially dogs and often thinks he is one. If he could bark, he would all the time. He likes the sound of his own voice, often shouting his disapprovals or annoyances. It gets annoying, but if you want to get to know Abba, you must accept his flaws. HISTORY: Abba is another horse bought in America, Lexie simply found him online. The gelding caught her eye for his sweet, docile looks, and his description made her laugh. She cannot wait to try him out herself, and then place someone on him. She knows it is going to take a lot of work to find him the correct rider, but she is looking forward to the task. His past owner has been competing with him for five years, and he has proved to be an excellent polo horse. He will take the team far, that is for sure. RECOMMENDED FOR: Intermediate to Advanced riders, doesn't matter if you have Polo experience or not. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Daniel Wallis

SHOW NAME: Herbs and Spices BARN NAME: Basil HEIGHT: 11.3 HH BREED: Caspian Horse GENDER: Mare COLOR: Bay AGE: Eleven PERSONALITY: Basil is interesting, she doesn't really like to be handled, but also doesn't mind the company of other horses and humans. She'll be ridden with no trouble, but hates her head being touched. It takes time for her to be able to trust you to put her bridle on her. But then, sometimes, she can be very affectionate and allow you to. This takes a while for her to be like this with you, but it will happen to you at least once. The mare prefers female company to male, but Lexie is hoping to put a male rider on her to get her used to them more.
To ride, she is a dream. She has immense speed and stamina that an Arabian would be jealous of. She adores being ridden, liking to be worked and the excitement of a Polo game. When she sets her mind to something, she'll do it no problem and will never back out of it. She doesn't spook often, and rarely gets over excited. Overall, she's a lovely mare with a few issues needing to be worked out. HISTORY: Basil is coming from Britain with Lexie and Neeve. She and Neeve are like the best of friends, partners in crime if you will. She has been at the sanctuary since she was five, she had been beaten repeatedly and her owner had been reported by a neighbor. The mare was very head shy, and hated humans when she first arrived, nipping anyone who tried to touch her face. Now, she'll allow you to touch her ever so often, liking a scratch behind her ears. Lexie has brought the mare far, spotting the talent in her when she was playing with Neeve one day. The smaller pony could easily outrun the dapple mare, and was able to do swift and sharp turns in a flash. Lexie worked hard with the delicate mare, and she has grown very attached to her. She will be perfect for the beginner rider and up to the advanced. RECOMMENDED FOR: Anyone, if they can work through her being so head shy. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Cara Kitchi

SHOW NAME: Summer Days BARN NAME: Sunny HEIGHT: 15 HH BREED: Welsh Cob Section D GENDER: Gelding COLOR: Sooty Palomino AGE: Eight PERSONALITY: Sunny is brass and bold, nothing scares him and nothing makes him back down. He needs a rider who can challenge him for the Alpha spot, he won't give it up easily. He's stubborn, he's pushy and will step on anyone's toes if he feel's you are in the way or doing something wrong. But, once he gets over himself, he's like a puppy dog. He'll follow you around everywhere when he knows your boss, which he does with Lexie, and will shower you with attention. He'll still step on your feet mind. One thing he never does is kick, nor bite, ever. He's not nasty, he's just a little too big for his boots. Spoiled is another word for it. The pretty gelding is also very vain, he knows he is beautiful and needs to be spotless. He's very flashy and would make a lovely dressage horse on the side of being a Polo horse. He has beautiful movements and also has speed on his side. He likes to rush many things, but when you teach him, he will learn to slow. HISTORY: Sunny came to Lexie's parents sanctuary after his old owner died of old age. He had been severely spoiled and was very over weight. Lexie spent time with him, slimming him down and getting him healthy, but he was really her fathers horse. Then, her father said he showed prospect for Polo, which Lexie already knew, and allowed her to use him. Now she is bringing him to the academy for the more advanced riders, hoping to pair him up with someone just as strong willed as herself and her father. RECOMMENDED FOR: Intermediate to Advanced DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Alia Williams

SHOW NAME: Thorn of Gold BARN NAME: Promise HEIGHT: 15.2 HH BREED: Arabian GENDER: Gelding COLOR: Copper Palomino AGE: Eight PERSONALITY: Promise is very highly strung and flighty. He has little concentration and cannot focus at all when there is something exciting going on. Yet, he is easy to hold back if need be. He is not nasty in any way, and he hates confrontation. A quieter rider would be best, as he isn't too font of loud noises, and sudden movements make him think twice about everything. But, he also likes to show. He loves the atmosphere and all the people and horses.
An unusual thing for an Arabian, but he has little pride in his appearance. He will often come in covered head to foot in mud, not even batting an eyelid at the distressed gasps from his rider. He actually looks a little proud of himself when he does this. HISTORY: Promise has been bought from a farm in Ontario, Canada. The gelding has been trained by a top Polo coach whom Lexie knows well as he used to live near her in Britain. He recommended him to her when he heard she was coming to America, offering to deliver him himself. Lexie jumped at the chance, after seeing the beautiful pictures of the flashy gelding. She cannot wait to see a student riding him at the academy, he'll definitely draw some attention from the opposing teams and crowds. RECOMMENDED FOR: Intermediate to Advanced. Beginners if they do not mind him being flighty. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Luka Ingersleben

SHOW NAME: Splattered Canvas BARN NAME: Splodge HEIGHT: 12.3 HH BREED: Welsh Pony Section B GENDER: Mare COLOR: Gray Tobiano AGE: Five PERSONALITY: Splodge is a nippy female with no manners. She's pushy and doesn't like being in enclosed spaces. She is forever escaping from her stall. She hates too much attention and isn't easy to catch. Other horses she tolerates, but she is always pinning her ears back at them and almost always baring her teeth at humans. But, deep down she is a lovely pony, her past has just been a little too much for her. Once she trusts you, she should be much more gentle and loving. She is with Lexie.
Still young, the femme has a lot of training still to do. She needs an experienced rider, who doesn't have to know anything about Polo, to teach her and learn with her. HISTORY: Splodge was brought to the sanctuary severely malnourished and badly beaten. She has healed well, the scars Lexie thought would never fade have and she looks healthy all over again. She was barely a weanling when she arrived with her mother. As she grew older, Lexie was taken with the pretty pony and decided to claim her for her own. Splodge has just come out of training, and is ready for a student to take her on. The rider must be advanced, able to handle her. RECOMMENDED FOR: Advanced. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Aimee Hathaway

SHOW NAME: Bullet To My Heart BARN NAME: Anderson HEIGHT: 14.2 HH BREED: Peruvian Paso GENDER: Gelding COLOR: Bay AGE: Ten PERSONALITY: Anderson is a real sweetheart, he loves attention, almost craves it. He greets everyone with so much enthusiasm it is hilarious. He adores his stomach being tickled, and also his chin. He can be pushy when he is very excited, but usually he is gentle and calm. Many people is what sets him off, but he is easy to settle and handle while excited. To ride, he is swift but not the fastest. He's good for stamina and quick turns, and where as many of the horses will wear out quickly, he can go for hours. Anderson has the tendency to spook at stupid things, like plastic bags and barrels. Then, he's fine to go past a huge, growling horse box that any other horse would be freaked out by. He's a bit of a weird one, but extremely lovable. HISTORY: Anderson is coming from South America. Lexie saw him online and fell in love with his adorable face. His personality set her on purchasing him. He's still got a little way to go with Polo training, but a student will easily be able to learn along with him. If he had been a stroppy bugger, she would have decided to train him herself, but she has no worries for the plucky horse. RECOMMENDED FOR: Anyone DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. SHOW NAME: Dusted with Snow BARN NAME: Ava HEIGHT: 15.3 HH BREED: Appaloosa cross Friesian GENDER: Mare COLOR: Grulla Leopard AGE: Nine PERSONALITY: Ava is lazy. There is only one way to put it. She'll sleep anywhere, if you keep her still for long enough. She always has to be on the move or you'll never get her going again when she decides it is time for a nap. Once she does get going though, she is lovely. She has a long stride and speed to match. Her stamina is okay, could be improved but she makes a good Polo horse.
As well as being lazy, she is quite inquisitive when she is awake. If you have something in your hands that intrigues her, you must let her smell it, feel it and even lip at it. She'll either lose interest or try and take it from you. You cannot let her do that, as she'll do it all the time. You must tell her off and then she won't try it with you again, she'll move onto a new target. HISTORY: Ava is coming from Britain, which is unusual as there aren't many Appy's in the country. But, Lexie saw her at an auction and knew she was going to buy her. She was bought along with Lexie's own horse, Flash. The mare and Flash are very close, but the older, more experienced mare proved much easier to train. It only took Lexie three months, and Ava knows that when Lexie is riding her, she cannot be lazy. She needs an assertive rider to show her this too, but any level rider can use her. As long as they show her who's boss and what is expected. RECOMMENDED FOR: Anyone who can show her that you are dominant. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: -------

SHOW NAME: Celebrated Stars BARN NAME: Celebrity HEIGHT: 15.2 HH BREED: Friesian cross Saddlebred GENDER: Mare COLOR: Bay AGE: Six PERSONALITY: Celebrity is a pretty mare with an attitude. She can be a little nippy, but is still young and is slowly growing out of it. She can be stubborn and ignorant, but gets over herself quickly. The problem is, Promise backs her up and the pair can be right bullies while in the pastures. They have been separated on many occasions, but always end up back together.
She's clever, and to ride she'll test you. She hates have an inexperienced rider, she likes to challenge a rider that can meet her level of intelligence and experience. Some days she can be the sweetest horse in the world, other days she's a madame. But, she is slowly mellowing. Maybe aging will be a good thing for her, but she'll still need a rider able to handle her mood swings and impatient nature. HISTORY: Celebrity was bought from a dealer in Canada by the same man who owned Promise. She and Promise are very close so Lexie decided to buy her as well as the Palomino Arabian. She has been trained like Promise, by the same man, and has come on well. Lexie is pleased that she has managed to get two horses from a man whom she respects. She needs an intermediate rider, or advanced, as she really tests a persons patience. RECOMMENDED FOR: Intermediate to Advanced. DISIPLINE: English, Polo specifically. RIDER: Eurico Hanson

All of these horses are owned by myself, Lexie Dixon, I bought them myself and have spent a lot of time with many of them. This does not mean that you are unable to use them in your free time. You must come to me if you want to use one to train, and you can even use them as a pleasure horse to build up a bond. But you may only use the one that has been assigned to you by me, and only the Polo club get the privileged to use them. You must also sign them out on a sign up sheet I'll put up in both Red Willow and White Oak barns. Please do not take them out unless you have signed the sheet or spoke to me. If I am not around, ask the barn manager and they shall pass the message onto myself.
Thank you,
-Lexie Ariel Dixon
