It was half 4 on a sunny Friday evening on the campus as Lucie led a bay British Warmblood Gelding out from his stable and onto the yard. ''Good boy Olly'' she said as she tightened the geldings girth and sorted out his running martingale before mounting him and walking him towards the arena.
Once Lucie and Olly were inside the Arena and the gate was shut behind them Lucie let Olly walk round on a long rein. The gelding stretched his neck and head all the way down before Lucie shortened them and asked him for an energetic trot. The gelding responded almost imediatley and arched his neck into an outline as Lucie worked him on both reins. Lucie then pushed him into a canter before popping him over the cross rail in the centre of the Arena.

Andie was glad to get out of her academic classes for the week and danced her way down to the barn. Sure she was still wearing her cheer uniform, but she had a pair of hot-pink jods in her locker along with the pair of pink cowboy boots her grandparents had sent her for her birthday.
"Hey JT!" She greeted her Percheron-cross gelding as she bounced up to his door. Blushing as he jumped backward in surprise. "Sorry, sweet." She entered the stall and brought him out. Once the gelding was tacked up in his hot-pink blanket and brown tack and she was changed from her skirt into her jods, she led him out to the arena.
Seeing that there was already a girl, Lucie, working her horse over the cross rail in the middle, she waited outside the gate until the horse had cleared the jump. "Gate!" She called as she then opened the gate and led the gelding through before closing it again. She then led her grey sabino over to the mounting block and mounted up so that she wasn't in the way of the other horse and rider. Okay, while not in the saddle, she was a class A bee with an itch (read between the lines), but when she had a helmet on her head, she followed a whole different set of rules.
After tightening the girth, she squeezed the gelding forward and walked around the track of the arena. Allowing him to warm up before asking for a trot.
