It was early evening, the sun slowly falling back into its den for the night. Already the moon hung in the sky, and only a glance at its glowing form made the youngster yawn. Today he had been stuck in the barn for most of the day, as Tease was lame. She had her most sorry looking face on and every time he tried to leave, the femme had gripped his shirt and pleaded with him not to go. He wouldn't have minded, but Albert was also sick. The sheepdog had been throwing up for the past night, causing Freddie to believe he ate something bad. He knew the canine should be okay, and had rushed to see him before racing back to the pastures. Albert had been fine, but seemed very tired. So Freddie left him to sleep as he came back to bring Knight in for, well, the night. The dark haired boy began to place the head collar on the reluctant gelding, whom obviously wanted to spend the night outside. Normally he would, but he didn't like to leave Knight alone. He didn't know why, he just didn't. Once Tease was all better, he would be free to stay out in the pastures with her.Freddie skid to a halt on the other side of the fence, watching as Knight soared past him and then looked around in confusion when he could no longer see his petite owner. The gelding nickered nervously before spinning around and locating Freddie. The large 17HH brute immediately perked up and trotted happily back to Freddie, greeting him as if he hadn't seen him in years. The fourteen year old chuckled as the gray muzzle of Westphalian snuffled his pale face. Come on then, let's get you inside.
Knight's hooves dragged against the gravel of the path, his barrel expanding as he sighed deeply. His owner grinned, patting the thick neck of the horse comfortingly. Hey now, it's alright. You can go and wind up Tease until bed time. he beamed, knowing that was Knight's favorite past time currently. The steed seemed to perk up instantly at Tease's name, and practically took off to drag Freddie into the barn. Thankfully, the gelding wasn't using too much power otherwise there would be no hope in Freddie stopping him. Woah! Gentle with her tonight, she's feeling a little down. he commented, leading the gelding into the stable beside Tease. The mare glared accusingly at Freddie, obviously angry that he had left her. Freddie rolled his eyes and picked up the bucket to get some feed for Knight and then collecting Tease's. At the sign of the bucket being lifted, the mare instantly forgot about her displeasure with Freddie and eagerly snuffled the plastic. There is nothing in there yet, stupid. he sighed, leaving the pair to fill up the buckets.
The task was done rather easily, though it didn't surprise him. The barn was relatively empty tonight, most students still enjoying the cooling heat of the evening. And, also the fact that Freddie had been at the academy just over three months now meant he pretty much knew his way around everywhere. The youngster whistled as he made his way back to the stalls, dumping the buckets in their respective stalls. As he awaited them to finish, his mind strayed to the girl who's image always played in the back of it. The blonde haired female held his fascination since the first day he met her. She didn't know yet, but he had fallen head over heels for her. There were three things that kept him from declaring his undying love. 1) She was the only person to ever make him nervous, which meant he always lost the nerve when he saw her. 2) Spencer and Jay, Jay more so. The pair seemed to adore relentlessly teasing the boy. 3) What if she didn't like him back. He had picked up on no signs that she did so. As a friend, yes. But as a romantic interest, he had no idea. He sighed, dumping himself onto the cold ground of the barn. He wished Albert was with him now, the canine always knew how to cheer him up.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
