Clint was the first to arrive of the bunch. The guys had planned a trail ride that only they knew about. Just to hang out and talk about guy things. The officer halted Champ by the entrance. He was in uniform, but was able to go on the excuse as patroling the trails, which, he could do. He also needed to make sure no holes were on the path for horses to injure themselves and if anyone was ever caught tresspassing or hunting, he could give them a fine and write them up a ticket for it.
His black fresian gelding stood calmly. Big, black glossy orbs looking around. He had rode this trail many times. Mostly, it was just him and his rider, so he had doubts as to why they weren't going anywhere. The animal was previously trained as a police horse to patrol the big cities. Officer Clint knew he was very lucky to have such an expierenced mount who knew how to behave in situations that would be stressful and fearful to the normal horse. Champ heard the approaching rider before his owner did, and his ears flickered back. His left eye caugt the 2D shape of a horse, and his whole head turned to get a binocular view of the oncoming animal.
Kirk rode up casually on his older stallion. The red horse was delighted to be out and about. He was onery at first, but the vet had worked him in the round pen and the stud remembered just who was in charge. He now exchanged greeting with the black gelding. Both were friendly animals. The two men exchanged greeting, "Clint."
"Kirk." the young officer smiled. His hazel eyes casted a glance down to the horses, who now seemed indifferent wether the other was there or not.
"So, I heard you had a incident with a woman?" the vet asked casually, knowing the reaction that he would recieve would be hilarious as, well, the officer hadn't told anybody about it.
Clint immediatly stiffened in the saddle. His head turned to look at Dr. Clarkson. His lips were parted in cofusion and his brows lowered, "What incident?" his Australian accent flew from his mouth stronger than usual. A flaw that happened when he was agitated, nervous, mad, anything out of the norm. He knew he was playing dumb, but he hadn't told a soul about even meeting his new colleague.
"Oh, c'mon!" Kirk exclaimed, "The one about you not knowing how to handle a woman." He tightened back on the reins as Flame fought for his head to grab some of the grass on the ground.
The young officer clinched his teeth, "How do you know anything about that?" His mind whirled with how it could have gotten around so fast. Summer must have told someone, or, someone could have overheard.
"I heard it through the grapevine."
"Grapes don't grow themselves," Clint protested, "Now where did you hear something like that from?"
The sound of horses clopping on the ground made the men turn to see Rance and Zack riding a few feet away. Clint casted his gaze to Kirk, who rose a brow at him and a slow smile eased across his face. The officer then caught on to who was the culprit of spreading the tale around. His tongue rolled around quickly in his mouth and he shook his head in utter disbilief, "I'm gonna kill 'em."
